The Studio Sketch Challenge

This is my cousin Chrisanthy with her son Dimitraki who turned  4 years old this summer … two of my favourite people!!! :)  The photo was taken this summer before my camera had broken … and I love the way they look like two little pals!

Layout – i love you both

Katerina & the girls over at Scrapbooking in Greece have an ‘Anything Goes’ challenge and the only requirement is that they is journaling on the layout!

This weekend I seemed to have more free time [my aunt has arrived so she ordered that I wasn’t to cook this weekend, so I ate at her place, no dishes to wash up either!!!!], so I decided it was time to play along and to finally scrap one of my fav photos of Katerina & Micaelia!

Here is my layout!

A combination of Crate paper, My mind’s eye, and echo park!!!  Simple I know but I wanted the focus to be on the beauty of my two girls …

Art Journal Daily # 24 & 25

 

 

Hello everyone, I’ve been supper dupper busy with just getting myself into a program.  It seems by the time I wake up, I blink and it’s time to go to sleep again … But I still have to find time to work a bit every single day in my art journal …. so I have 2 double spreads to show you ….

The first one, is devoted just to ONE special day:

Last Saturday my friend Aliki baptised her daughter Annie  … this is what I did in my journal to remember the day!

The date, with 3 d modelling paste [added acrylic colour to white paste] and washi tape …

I added lots of little photos from the ceremony!

I added the invitation, and well as some of the packaging from the cookie [doily & tag].

 

The second double spread is about the following days, which seem to pass so quickly. During the week it  may be as late at 11 or even 11.20 when I get home so I may not be in the mood to write a lot, but like brushing your teeth I don’t go to bed without my 20 minutes of art journaling!!!

I’ve used a gelli art paper where I traced the stencil of the girl, I cut it and put the larger portion to the left, and the rest to the right!

I made a concoction of heavy gesso, glass paste, acrylic paint and used masks & stencils to add dimension to the page …

Summer Beaches 2013 minibook

This will be a long post with plenty of photos …

As you may already know, this year for the first time after four years I actually went swimming again … there was no reason as to why I hadn’t gone in the previous years … but I confess that I actually enjoyed Naxos beaches this year … I went 12 times … to various beaches … with family & friends … it was fun!

I’ve used the Gelli plate, throughout the book, either directly only the pages, or on delli paper which I added afterwards!

First day at the beach … me and my cousin, and then my cousin and her SO … all in yellow, I’ve gellied directly only the paper then added washi tape … all the stamped images are Unity stamps.

Here we are at Moutsouna and I’m watching the little ones play on the beach … more gelli art, washi tape, unity stamp, some flowers and dots … and some coloured starfish!

Aliko beach was definitely one of our favourite places that we went back to 3 times! More Gelli art, washi, stickers, and journalling tags.

This was a fun day, because we also went out afterwards in chora … Dimitraki really kept us busy!

Last day at the beach, at Aliko yet once again … and the waters were the calmest ever …. most beautiful evening and we didn’t want to leave!!!

Our Story – a special gift!

This past weekend my friend Aliki baptised her child … I had already received my ‘Save the Date’ before going away on summer holidays, and I knew that I wanted to ‘make’ something special for Annie!

During my first visits to my aunt’s shop in the village I fell in love with these:

and came up with the idea to create a book for her to act out her own stories!!!

I’m happy to say that Annie’s older brother new exactly what to do with the book and I’m sure that he’ll have lots of fun with it too!!!

I’ve kept it simple so that it would be suitable to a young child …

Art Journal Daily # 23

Another double page to show you, once again, please forgive me if the photos are slightly out of focus! 🙂

School has been on my mind, so I used some heavy gesso, and acrylic paint with the alpha stencil, and then with gelli plated deli paper I created building!!!

I misted with Dylusions over the central part of the pages, so I had a pinkish orangy background!

Born to Crop Challenge

This month I’m a guest designer on the Born to Crop facebook challenge which is to create something [card, layout, altered item] with the theme BACK TO SCHOOL!

This year our ‘Agiasmo – Blessing’ was on Sept. 12th, and due to the warm weather we did it outside … there were quite a lot of children and their parents … very hectic …

 

My camera hasn’t been repaired yet, I’m working on getting it repaired and thanks to the generosity of a close relative I may even have a replacement by the week’s end, so I may have even better shots to show you in the future! 🙂

Z is for ZIP

It’s been days since I’ve been thinking about what to do with the Z letter over at the Alpha Challenge this week … and as I didn’t have much choice I decided on zip … so I went in search of a zipper … LOL and this is what I came up with:

I’ve decided to let the zipper hang over the page for a bit of added element!

I decided to do a bit of sketching, and you can see my view from my living room couch … I’ve also used a deli sheet white I have gelli painted and it really gives it a feel of material and not paper ….

I wasn’t sure whether to add faux stitching with a marker, but for the moment I’ve decided to live it as is, and may come back to it later ….

What do you think should I add faux stitching along the zip and in what colour?  Blue, brown or black?

Get Creative September Tag Challenge

ANYTHING GOES!!!!

That’s right … you can do anything you like for this month … as the design team we were given a digital kit to play with …

Another one of my Prima dolls, I love how these ‘girls’ look one the tags … The background is a tag that has been gelli plated in blue & a bit of red, which kind of reminded me of the greek flag! LOL  So I added elements from Anastasia’s kit   a bit of stickles, and some ribbon & voila!!!
