Grandma loves you!

p2280383

I love this photo of my Mom with M … Mom loves to whisper in the babies’ ears, that to always remember that Grandma Suzy loves them a lot … she tells my older niece Katerina to do the same whenever she speaks to her …

So I was inspired to do this layout, and I plan another one with Mom and Di … in a similar pose.

I’ve used a mishmash of products, from Basic Grey to 7 Gypsys. I tend to keep my chipboard all together and use it when I want it!

I’ve used stickles, and glitter pens to give it more dimension …

February 21st Sassy Lil Sketches

Where have the weeks gone?

The 21st again, and time for another sketch from the very talented Cherie!!

Here you go:

February 21st

My take on this is:

Handy Girl

When I saw the sketch I knew these photos would be perfect!

The funny thing about this layout, is that I’ve used a boy’s collect: Echo Park’s Little boy … the checkered paper seemed so suitable.  So instead of butterflies I’ve used gears [quickutz diecut], and I’ve masked with Tim Holtz’s gears at the top!

A lot of fun to do, and so typical of my niece Katerina, a born DIY person!!!

Some closeups:

masking with Tim Holtz dies and inks / String border around photo

Gear diecuts, sticker title

journalling box, and scallop stickers from Echo park kit.

You can always press on the photos to enlarge them!

Why not go over to Sassy Lil Sketches to see what our brilliant DT team came up with??

I love London baby!!!

New challenge over at Get Creative at Craftycroppers GR

So make sure you get over to the blog to check out what else the talented ladies have come up with!!!

We are to make a layout of something we love but the twist was that it couldn’t be a person …

So I thought and thought … lots of gadgets came to mind, but it the end I decided what I really love is travelling … so I came up with this layout:

I had a lot of fun doing this, and there are quite a few details in there … I’ve misted the cardstock, inked the edged, and the dotted bazzil paper. I’ve cut a spellbinder shape and journalled on it.  I’ve used crackle paint on chipboard pieces.  I’ve stamped, and embossed the couple on the bench [stamp by Sfragidomania], stickles on the title.

Some details:

Distress stickle dots on title

chipboard - crackled paint and rubon on it, swirl - crackle paint.

sticker compass, embossed couple, crackle roofs on house die

chipboard photocorners and quote sticker

I hope this layout inspired you to play along, and look forward to seeing what YOU love!!!

Funny Business

My third challenge from the Dotted with Love Crop is done …

In this challenge we had to use circles, and circular embellishments, and create some sort of border around our layout …

This is what I came up with:

Funny Business

I’ve been decluttering and have discovered some of my older beloved stuff…..

So I’ve used June Bug by Basic Grey and some of its elements … circular metal letters, big eyelets!  I’ve distressed the calendar page, using orange and green … and have created faux stitching on the corners!

Some close ups:

[you can always press on the photos to see a larger image]

Now, to set the scene for the photo … My brother is in the suit, with  Pipi the Clown ! This was taken at the reception of the christening … My brother and SIL had arranged for Pipi to put on a show,  as there were so many young children!!! He occupied them for more than an hour, while their parents were dancing and having fun!!!

A win-win situation for all!!!

Monochromatic Layouts

Irini had announced a Pre-Crop challenge.

To create a Monochromatic Layout.

On the day of the crop, we would vote, and the winner would win a prize.

I chose pink and it’s shades as a colour and I came up with this:

I love you

Lots of elements used there, distressing, crackling, inking … metal, ribbon, chipboard, glitter … the ribbon was from her boboniere …

I think this layout will go into her first year book, haven’t started it yet, but I’m so pleased with the result that I think it should be included.

Some details:

cut out butterflies, metal, flower, ribbon

Crackled TH Maya road swirl, metal, ribbon

border sticker, gel pen, stickles, distress /inked photo & paper

And then at the crop, of course I had to finish a similar layout in blues for Dimitri … a shame that he shouldn’t get one for his book eh?

I love you Little man

I created a mirror image of the other layout in case they would be in same book so that they’d be facing each other! 😉

Some close ups:

stitching, chalking in corner.

title of stickers, star, dolphin charm.

crackled maya road swirl, horsie & lollipop from Sfragidomania, heart is felting, button.

Lot’s of different elements there … and again pleased with the result, so this layout will probably end up in his book as well!!!

Saturday Crop & Make’n’Take

Yesterday I had the most amazing time at the crop which was organised by Irini Liolia of CraftyCroppers in Greece!

I must say that I love this venue, as it’s on the 5th floor, spacious, with a brilliant view of Athens! 🙂 This was the second time that we’ve had a crop here, and I hope we’ll be able to do one again soon!

I have to thank Elsa and Natasa for giving me a lift to and from the venue, to the lovely sponsors who provided something to all of us: Sfragidomania, Kelly and CherryNest!

It was so great seeing friends, and making new ones … all of us under one roof, creative juices flowing thru the air … brilliant!!

There were more lovely sponsors that provided gifts for the games and challenges!!! So thanks to all!

Irini had put together this lovely little mini, about US, called I am …

I started it, and hope to finish it this week …

Of course I packed more than I got a chance to do, but I was pleased with what I did manage to finish!

Here are some photos from the crop and my little mini!

Well, today I have work catching up with the lessons that I missed out yesterday … so I’ll be back later with more posts!

Hopefully will get a chance to sit down more and create too!!!

Getting creative @ Craftycroppers GR

Brrr … baby it’s cold outside!!!

This is my take on Feb 1st challenge over on the Get creative Blog.

We had to document this winter using blues & greys.

When I think of winter, the song Baby it’s cold outside just goes round and round in my head … and when I saw the photo of Dimitraki dressed in the shawl I knew what I had to do ….

I’ve used different paint mediums to give the effect of ice, and snow … here are some close ups!

White paint on title

crackle paint on lamp, white paint, upside down grass, with paint and flock powder.

embossed snowflakes , clear crackle paint & white paint.

closer view

This layout was soooo much fun to do … why don’t you go and check out what my fellow DT members did as well!!!
