The Fray

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I’ve changed my video … the group is called the Fray … and I first heard their music on Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack … you can see a video clip of the sound and show HERE if you’ve got real player and HERE if you’ve got Quick Time Player. I hope this works for you … anyway, I like their music so I thought I would add their song to this site!!! I’d love to hear your comments if you do see it! 🙂

Studio 60

Well, I must say that I was most impressed … I’ve just finished watching the first two episodes of the new series … by the same writers as West Wing … I was a fan for the whole 7 years with West Wing … and I must say that I love their new series … if you do get the chance … Watch it …!!

Tuesdays – Work and Scrapping!

Tuesdays will be my most ‘difficult‘ day this school year. I have the most hours on this day. I have to be there at 8.30 until 10 am and then back at 3 pm until 9.30 pm … Maroussi is a bit far from my place but only 15 min. from my friend Irini’s … so, we have designated Tuesdays our scrapping day … this way, I think I will be able to get through the day more easily, as I’ll also be doing something else that I like.

This is what I’ve done this week: C … for Creative Crafting … the girls at it of course, along with their auntie … can’t be too young to start crafting right???

F for … First Friends … photos of me and my first friend in Canada (I’m the little girl in the bonnet) and on the right, along with more friends in the park, (second from right) …

Same old, same old!!

I feel like I’m in limbo … the only thing I’ve been talking about is the weather, weather and the weather … and what do I have to talk about today … but the weather!!! It’s still overcast, and yesterday [Saturday afternoon – throughout the night] it rained continuously …

I haven’t been in the mood to scrap … I did clean up the flat as Mom arrived today … just in time too!! Here are some photos of what I see from my rear balconey … I hope tomorrow is a lot better!!!

The only other thing that I’ve been obsessed with is Grey’s Anatomy . They started playing it on Greek tv last year, and I got hooked … then I bought the first series off Amazon and from then on I was totally hooked … so I’ve been downloading the episodes … and have even seen the ones currently playing in the States … I know, I know, I need a life … but there’s nothing interesting on Greek TV and this … this… gorgeous hunk of a man is just ….
… McDreamy!!!!

Rain, rain and more RAIN!!!

It is unbelievable … all this week it has been raining … not your ordinary rain … you leave home in the morning … blue skies … you get off the train in the afternoon and all of a sudden it’s just pouring down …!!!! I’ve been lucky as it usually rains when I am indoors at the school. When it’s time for me to leave at least it has stopped. We, Greeks are just not used to this much rain … I haven’t had time to watch tv to see what damages this has done, but I know that yesterday half our inner-city train line was down … At least I made it to Ano Patissia. A morning at home for me! Yippee … oops, I need to clean up the house first before I start celebrating!!!! But it is Friday, so what if it’s overcast again, and I know that it will rain … two FREE days are actually on their way!!!!

Cancelled lesson and Downpour

Yesterday evening I finally did go out with my friend Vaso. Vaso is an ex co-worker at the old school that I used to work at for 15 years. We try to see each other at least once a year and Septembers are so good for remembering people for us teachers. I guess it’s that whole ‘back-to-school’ attitude.

Today, I was to work from 4 pm to 9 pm … so I got ready early and I was at the school at 3.30. I received a phonecall at 4 pm to say that the student wasn’t going to make it … I don’t know who was angrier, me or my boss! 🙂 Well, those things do happen … of course it would have been nice to know in advance … but I took advantage of it and visited with my friend Irini! A quick cup of coffee, gossip and the time flew by.

Right in the middle of my next lesson the heavens just opened up and buckets of water was coming down!! Luckily I did have an umbrella with me, but I was more worried about the chaos that rain plays on the traffic here in Greece. By the time I finished at 9 pm the rain had stopped. The train is pretty dependable, so I made it home without any delays. Tomorrow I’m gone all day, so will catch up again later in the week!

Q, R and Y!!

Another 3 layouts done in the past 2 hours … I’m so happy! I’ve enjoyed my hours scrapping this weekend … will have to start clearing up soon, as I want to get ready to go out for a coffee with a friend.

Q is for Queen … and you else would it be apart from Mom??? Has been the Queen around here for years!!! LOL

R is for Radiant … one of the better photos of me … taken back in 2004 when I was a lot lighter … would love to be able to wear THAT dress again!

Y is for Youth! All of us are so very YOUNG in these photos … they were taken in 1991 on my trip to Skyros. Much enjoyable and truly memorable … it’s been so much fun scrapping these old photos … I’ve always been an avid photographer and there seems no way that I’ll be able to scrap all the events in my life, so this is a nice way to have a little bit of everything in one book! 🙂

Okay, time for me to get busy ….

P for Princess

In July I started a 6×6 alphabet book … my first … I call it ‘My Girly Girl Alphabet Book’. The book itself is from a Crayola scrapkit … and the alphabet -I think- came in a Deja Views Kit that I had bought from PaperArts a while back. Anyway, I had completed quite a few pages before going away to Naxos, and I picked it up again this morning … so … P is for Princess.

The girls just love to pretend to play their ‘princess games’ … I’ve placed the photos on foam so that they would stick out more …

Wisdom, Faith, Love and Hope

Today is St. Sofia’s Day in Greek Orthodox religion and all the Sofia’s celebrate. Well actually St. Sofia celebrates with her three daughters: Agapi (Love), Pisti (Faith), and Elpida (Hope) … Sofia is Greek means Wisdom … actually I think those are some pretty awsome names … double meaning … and the fact that Wisdom was the ‘mother’ of Love, Faith and Hope tell me a lot! Anyway, I just wanted to wish my Mom (Sofia) and my niece (Sofia) a very Happy Nameday!!! They are both on Naxos so I won’t be able to do it in person this year, but my thoughts and love are with them!!!
