H is for Harbour!

I managed to do another entry in my Altered dictionary for the Alpha Challenge over at the CraftBarn Blog.

I gessoed the page first, and I’ve had this Tilda stamp for a while now, and I do actually get some use out of this one … I stamped it with archival ink, coloured in with Whisper water markers, and did the larger background with panpastels.

The stamp only had the two wooden poles, but by masking off part of the stamp I tried to restamp the pole to give it a longer extension …. it ‘slipped’ a few places because I was stamping directly only the book but I’m happy with the end result!!!

 

Well on Sunday we get a new letter to think about …

Art Journal: Rain, Rain

Last Friday, was the worst day ever, with LOTS of RaIN, thunder storms … it was VERY frightening, you could not see outside … anyway, in the evening when I finally got home from work, and was safe and dry I did this page:

I’ve used the same techniques as I did with my Unique page, I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to repeat it in my large art journal …

 

But to give it the feeling of the rain, I misted it quite a bit, and let the ‘rain’ run …

February is almost over and I truly hope that the rain stops a bit!!!

H is for Hobby

H is the 4th letter to be altered in my dictionary!!! How exciting!!! I still continue to enjoy the alpha challenge over at Craft Barn … 🙂

I’ve chosen Hobby for my first word [yes I plan to do a second one if time allows]

This was so much fun to do, I’ve used distress inks, and stencil, and I’ve stamped thru it ….

To give more dimension I used modeling paste on two of the circles … and with mini alphas I wrote some of my hobbies …

I added gold Twinkling H2O to add more shine to it!!!

Art Journal: AnAtoZofMe – Letter U

U is for unique … and the technique to is to use a plastic carrier bag to squish the paint around and create a creative mess … LOL … It was a lot of fun to do …

I also wanted to play with a new way of creating a title,  so I’ve been following Carolyn Dube’s  free class over here … and that’s to my wonderful friend Irini Liolia who cut the alphabet stencils for me … I can now show you this:

Art Journal: AnAtoZofMe – Letter R

R is for responsibilities … and don’t we have many!!!

The technique was to stamp thru a stencil and it was a lot of fun … I added a few collage houses done with Basic Grey Curio scraps … I love the way it all meshed together …

Art Journal: Enjoy

Well, today I have an art journal from my big book to show you … On Sunday I played more with the shaving cream, this time using Dylusion mists …

There are quite a few layers here … at least 7 I believe ….

First off I started with gesso, painted it a bit, didn’t like it, and re-gessoed it, and then did the shaving cream technique that you see above!

The I misted the four corners with a paper die cut [thank you Marie, as you can see I used a few of your die cuts!]

I added modeling paste with a stencil, more mists, then stamping with distress inks and archival inks!

I added pieces of text from a book, and I tore in half a doily cut from Music paper … aren’t my circle stars [thank you Aliki] and cowboy fab!!!

Art Journal: AnAtoZofMe – Letter N

N is for Nature and today I have another double page to show you … the technique was to use flowers and I haven’t used many but I’m pleased with it.

I’ve gessoed the page and used panpastel s with a stencil … the butterflies are from my Unity stamps.
