Sassy Lil Sketches – Switch it up!!

Good morning!!!

I’m excited to present my Sassy Lil’ Switch it up take on September’s Week 2 sketch designed by Cherie:

I’m feeling a bit like Alice in Wonderland, last month I shrunk it to an A4 size, this month I’m stretching it to a double layout!!

I’ve also flipped it on it’s side …

Here it is:

I so enjoyed making this double layout … the papers are all from DCWV ‘the Performance Stack’, which has lovely music papers and vellum sheets … I was able to buy this pack locally and shared it with my friend Zeffy … with the girls being so musically inclined I knew that I would get good use out of it …

Katerina plays the violin and Sofia the mandolin.

Here are some close ups:

Sept. 15th challenge @ Get Creative

Good morning,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but September is always for me the busiest month … I work mornings and afternoons for the first two weeks, and on top of that I have the ‘house’ to look after …

… so as a result, very little ME time and no scrap time!

But things are looking up …

The housefairy is back in the house, humming, dusting, ironing and cooking up a storm … tomorrow is the last day of registrations at school so starting Monday I start my regular classes!

But today I’m here to share a layout that I did for Get Creative!

We had a brilliant sketch by Chrysa to work with:

I wanted to scrap some new summer photos, and as you already know from my photo blogpost, I totally enjoyed the photo shoot with my nieces this year … the photos in my layout were not posed, they are action scenes that’s why they are not perfectly clear, but I love the feelings of fun, laughter, carefree delight that they convey!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Hangin' with friends

Hangin’ with friends

Katerina is literally hanging in these photos!!!

I’ve used Echo Park papers and elements … thickers and mini letters for the title, a wooden butterfly and baker’s twine, a stamped imagine from my new Glitz stamp set.

Some close-ups:

The scallop punched piece was done to the paper and as I wanted to use it as a base I stamped an image to ‘patch’ it up! LOL 🙂  A happy accident if I may say so!

Well, I hope to start getting back into the swing of things … but please go on over to the Get Creative Blog to check out the rest of the brilliant layouts from out Design Team!!!

Have a great day!!

Get Creative September 1st challenge

Happy September!!!

Over at Get Creative the first challenge of the month has gone live … and I must say it was lots of fun to do …

When I first read that we had to use frames, I was stumped for ideas … but it happened that Irini was visiting early in August, and we were scrapping together, and as we were talking the ideas just came out … I had cut out 3 frames using the Big, playing around with them on the page, chatting with Irini  about the possibilities , and I took a quick photo so that I would remember it later!

idea in the making ....

… and here is my finished layout!

Every day moments

I’ve distressed two pattern papers, placing one on top of the other … I’ve used a stencil & distress ink at the top, and stamped at the sides …

As for the frames, I’ve gessoed them, misted them, then stamped them with stazon.
