Art Journal A4 size!!!

I’m back … I finished my first Art Journal Book … now I do have another little one if you remember but I wanted another bigger size book … so one day I was at Plasio and I saw an A4 size book and I bought it … The papers are not supper thick so I’ll be glueing two together but it will still have plenty of pages for me to get thru …

I recently bought a book, after my friend Ioanna but a link on her Facebook page called Doodling for Papercrafters … lots of inspiration inside … Ioanna has already uploaded her first layout inspired by the book … and ‘snap’ today I finished my first Journal page where I was always inspired by the book …

Here is my layout!

I’ve used pan pastels, dylusion mists, archival ink, bubble stamp, border stamp, and my micron pens & sakura glitter pens.

Happy Birthday dearest Suzy!!!

Today is my Mom’s birthday and I wanted to make a mini book to put in photos from 2012 … She’s just turned 71 years old, and I hope she’ll like this ….

This mini was done after the UK Scrappers On line crop and Sleeping Under Canvas by DeeMo… I loved the design so much that I’ve actually done a second one … a xmas one for my SIL …

Anyway getting back to this mini … here it is standing up …

PB221349

and a bit of a side view …

PB221350

The papers are mainly from Echo Park – Everyday Eclectic which I had bought from Enjoy Scrapping!  The Happy Birthday is from Papermania their Jubilee stuff, and the lady button is from Purple Pumpkin and I thought would be totally fitting here!!!

The inside cover has a pocket that opens up where I put in a note and a photo tag … and on the second page you can see my nieces Micaelia and Sofia!

The following pages have a pocket and a little minibook … so here are some hidden photos!

The following two pages are of the four kids again …

And some more photos of the little ones with decorative flaps …

 PB231380

The following two photos are my Mom with two of her bestest friends …

 PB231379

PB221365

The next two pages have a flap and a pocket …

One of my fave photos … Mom with the two girls …

One of my fav photos of my brother with Dimitri … George reminds me so much of our Dad!

PB221368

Final two photos … another pocket … and more photos of the little ones …

My mom doesn’t like receiving gifts … especially store bought ones … she’s always harping about me not spending money on her … before she unwrapped it I got an ear-ful … blah, blah . blah ….

While she opened it, and was turning the pages one by one … you heard only a ‘Μαλιστα, μάλιστα’

At the end …. she just said : Thank you, this is a gift I can’t say no to!!!

Yes, once again … I’ve done it … I gave her something that she likes!!! LOL

Have a great day and a great weekend ahead!

Nov 15h Get Creative Sketch Challenge

Well, it’s that time of the month again and we have another fantastic sketch by Elina to work with …

Here is her sketch:

And here is my take on it:

PB141305

I think I went a bit wild with this one … This sketch even though looks very traditional evoked some playful feeling in me … So I decided to use whatever was around at the time …

 PB141307

The fuscia flower, and blue paper flower is what’s left over from my Craft Garden kit from September … the tags are a gift, the ribbon was on my desk!

 PB141308

The flower is from flipping over a mask, it’s post red Dylusion mist … such vibrant colour … some distress stain, and washi tape …

PB141309

The circle diecut was cut out of paper that I had made …

 PB141310

This photo brings back some lovely memories from the summer, and it makes me so happy to know that our ‘scrappy’ children get along just as well as their mommies do!!!

So why don’t you go over and check out the other DT layouts!  Don’t forget … the winner of this challenge will come back as Guest designer to play with us!

BITW challenge – Sweet tooth

When I first saw Bird is the Word’s reveal for the word SWEET, and saw all the sweet layouts of children I thought … awwww how sweet … but my mind ran directly the other way … to Sweets: chocolate, icecream, pastries … oh me oh my …. LOL

I knew that the photos of my cousin and her nephew eating ice-cream were going to be a great choice for this …

I had FOUR photos to start with … and I originally thought to do ONE double layout with all four photos … but then I decided to use one for the SAG challenge that you saw in yesterday’s post …

So I came up with two layouts to be placed side by side in an album:

PB121295

So let’s break it down one at a time!

As you can see there are common elements in each side …

I started out with two same cardstocks as the base … and I used this sheet of paper that I had made:

PB051274

I had made this page for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge #4 which asked us to make a page using stencils / masks / stamps / inks / mists …

This is just a blue piece of cardstock, a TCW mask, White Huey mist, and my b&w pens for a bit of doodling …

it’s the same blue colour as the director’s chairs in the photos … I knew that I wanted green in as well … so I chose a pattern paper that had a bit of green and blue and a leafy – doodly design …

So the left side looks like this:

PB121296

and the right side looks like this:

PB121301

Some details now … [sorry if this post is getting too long!]

PB121299

I’ve used some doodle rubons, but the borders going round and round are drawn by hand …. I’ve been totally inpressed by my Picket fence Distress marker … I can’t get over how bright white is shows on the cardstock!!!

 PB121297

The title were some raw chipboard alphas that I had, I painted them with gesso, the misted them with Bubblegum pink Dylusion mists …

PB121298

Another view of the doodling ….

 PB121304

More close ups of hand made paper …

 PB121302

Isn’t the bottom photo priceless!?!?!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my layouts ….

Have a great day!

SAG November Invitation Challenge

Hello everyone … My friends over at Scrap and Grab, invited me to to a  layout this month …. BUT … not use any Art journalling techniques … doodling or zentangling!

So this meant that I had to put away all my usual tools!!!

It was a bit of a challenge because when I picked up my pen to write in the date of the even … I had to stop myself …

Here is my layout:

PB121291

As you can see … look Ma, no inks, to doodles … didn’t even use any stamps!!!

This is my cousin Tasoula and her nephew Dimitraki … they really are so much alike …

Some closeups:

PB121292

Top title …

PB121293

Bottom title …

Thank you girls : Paraskevi, Chrysa & Nicoletta for the great challenge!

I have another 3 photos of the same event printed out … and I scrapped them directly after this layout … but those are to show for tomorrow … 🙂

Art Journal: Look! I’m free!!

Well, I’m sad to say that this is the LAST page in my first Art Journal … what a trip it has been …

Who would have that … that back in May, when I did my friend’s Zeffy’s class and made this book, that I would have been able to fill the pages …

I’ve always thought that I wasn’t artsy fartsy enough … but with a little encouragement from my friends … and lots of playing around … I can say that I’m quite proud of this book …

So I’d like to dedicate this last entry of this journal  to Zeffy, who I find so inspirational. I just love us to sit side by her side and create together!

… and Zeff,  I promise I will no longer say that I’m not artsy fartsy!

PB071286

I feel as if artistically I’m the balloon that has been set free from its cage … definitely great for the soul!!!!

 PB071287

I’ve created qute a few layers … paint, gesso, mists, the heart’s border has glitter and relief paint …

 PB071289

Some stamping, baker’s twine, and relief paint to write and do the borders with …

 PB071290

Hope you’ve enjoyed it … not I have to make another larger book, as I like this format!

Have a great day everyone!

Washi tape & Purple Pumpkin as embellishments …

PB051279

My nephews little toes, which I find so adorable!

PB051280

The title american craft … glitter!

The Craft Garden November challenge

This month the inspiration comes in the form of an image. So the Craft Garden challenges you to create a layout, card, altered item inspired by:

I used the fairy, and it’s colours of blue/purple & yellow, to create a double art journal page …. Here it  is:

PA301269

My HouseFairy is my Mom, and her birthday is in November … so this is another page about her! LOL

PA301273

I used my Dylusion mists to create the background, and some Huey white mist on bubble paper to get the circles [they represent the berries!]

PA301270

The head and legs of my fairy are from Dylusions’ Travelling Travis, and I have to thank my friend Anastasia for cutting the heart and wings for me … I have used Cosmic Shimmer ultra thick embossing powder to give it that extra shine … PA301271

I’ve made the title using a Pentel brush marker

 PA301272

The houses have been stamped with archival ink … they are from Pernsonal impressions Lindsay Mason Designs which I got from Enjoy Scrapping  !

So why don’t you go over the the Craft Garden blog and check out what the rest of the Design team made … give it a try … they have a lovely prize this month …
