Wow, I’ve been running around all over the place and haven’t had a chance to be creative … I was on Naxos from last Saturday thru to late Tuesday evening … and since I got back I’ve been working 12 hour days …
But today I realised that the deadline for ‘P’ is almost up, and I wanted to finish and photograph my entry ….
Please forgive the terrible photo, maybe with tomorrow’s daylight I’ll manage to take a better one:
I had to take the photo with a flash so that they could focus, and the wet medium still shows … LOL Hopefully it will have dried by tomorrow!
I’ve used 3d paste and coloured in with PanPastels …
Over on Facebook, a challenge page called Born to Crop not to Mop is having their second challenge … theme is: Woman so I’m entering with this:
I had sooooo much fun making this page … as it was done in steps … First off I must say that I gave in and bought a Gelli Arts Plate … and after just ONE long play I have to say that I don’t regret it at all … it is so much fun, and after trying to make my own gelli / working on glass / working a baker’s mat / on an embossing mat … NOTHING compares to the Gelli Art Plate.
I have the 8×10 inches one, and it the page about you see the background [one page two prints] and the butterfly lady is another print that I cut out!
I have to thank my friend Natasa for the letter alphabets [title] and the paper … fun what we can do with the ‘leftovers’ of friends eh?
… and a very special thank you to my friend Nectaria for the use of her ‘butterfly’!
I’ve misted in the circles, and added drippings as well as stamped with archival ink … I’ve added journaling in my wings … all this art has really helped me grow creatively!
I must say that I’ve been viewing a lot of videos on gelli printing and I found a lot of inspiration in a Beginners online class by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer …
I also must thank my friend Mimi for the fabulous RAK that she sent me!!!! Sweetie, thank you … 🙂
This is a verrrrry quick post, because I did not realise that the challenge ends tonight … I’ve been so busy with work, that I thought I had another week to add my entry!!!
Yeah! It’s that time again and we have a fabulous sketch created by Elina Katechi!!!!
To be totally honest way back in February I had planned to do something totally different, but I just couldn’t make that work … so I kept putting it aside … until at the crop on last Saturday … EUREKA!!!! I knew what I wanted to do!!!
But for it to work, I had to flip the sketch to this:
So here is what I made:
The paper I’ve used is Echo Park ‘So Noted’ … and this is a photo taken from the previous crop on January 12th. Eight of the 13 girls from the Get Creative Design team … the title, is actually a bookmark made from another team member: Alexandra thank you so much!!!
I’ve embellished the top corner which is so pretty on its own to add more dimension … The crochet flower with the pearl brad is from Get Creative Embellishments! You can find more lovely stuff on her Etsy shop!
I hope you like the layout, and why don’t you go over to the Get Creative blog, to admire more work from my fellow Dt members, and the two Guest members this month!
As a group of crafty friends we share another hobby and that is reading … so we decided to start our 1st bookring whereby we pass on a book each month and at the end we will have read 7 different books!
We decided to make a bookmark for the 1st book that we recieved and that way we would each sign our name on the bookmark so when the owner got their book back finally they would also have a bookmark signed by all the participants as a keepsake …
Here is the bookmark that I made:
Her body is a little booklet where we will all sign in our names!
And here we are the eight of us when we met up for a Carnival crop !!!
Tomorrow I will have to show you what I made at the crop!
Some friends over on facebook started a new challenge page called Born to Crop not to Mop! They will be having a challenge on every 15th of the month … I thought that it would be fun to do something for them … so we were to make anything we wanted using the colour turquoise or use they name for inspiration …
I decided to create an art Journal page:
I’ve used lots of mediums: acrylic paints, mists, panpastels, markers, stencils, 3d paste, stickers … and more!
I’ve changed the title a bit and it reads: I was born to crop ! I don’t intend to stop until I drop!!!
Y is for yes, and today’s technique is the only one I’ve said ‘no’ to … LOL Isn’t that ironic … we were suppose to print on paper towel, run it thru our printers, and because there have been expensive accident’s in the past, I decided not to test Murphy’s Law …
So…. I used some mop up paper, stuck it down on my page, and stamped on it …. the result was not bad ….
I think the washi tape border really tied it all together ….
Some close ups!
I hope you’ve liked today’s page, just have one more to show you!!!
