Decopatch Matchbox Box

Large, very large match boxes were used to make this … it turned out to be quite big, and am thinking of keeping little doo dads [buttons, brads, clips] within.

A view of the three sides.

… and the drawer …

Painted the drawers with Distress ink, and used decopatch for all the sides! It was fun to do … 🙂

A Santa Advent Box!!!

I’m amazed with myself … a second box in one day …. and I actually managed to visit a family member who’s in hospital so I was gone for most of the evening as well … but didn’t want to go to sleep before I finished this!!!

To answer Marja’s question the boxes were bought … I found them at the supermarket in packs of ten … LOL … I’ll have to go to another supermarket tomorrow as I don’t want to be thought of as an arsonist!!! 😀

I’ve also bought these hugamungus [is that a word??] boxes to make something similar!

You can press on the photos to see bigger photos! Well, another week coming up tomorrow or is it today??? 😀

Toffee Nut Latte

Christmas is finally upon us! 🙂
I decided to treat myself after 2 weeks of dieting … not something that I would do more than once a week … and it’s utterly sinful!! 😀

Something cute from Sofia!!!

I love my nieces at this age, especially when they are in their talkative mood, because all of our conversations happen over the phone now. Well, we were talking last night [I’d found these lovely Christmas ornaments with the Disney princesses on them and sent them with their Dad who was here in Athens on a seminar] and here is our talk …

Me: Did you like the baubles I sent you?
Sofia: Yes, but why did you sent them?

Me: Well, you’ll be decorating your tree soon and I thought you’d like them!
Sofia: Have you decorated your tree yet Auntie?

Me: No, not yet.
Sofia: Grandma told me that it dried up.

[we had a live Christmas tree on the balcony that they girls had decorated last Xmas, and true enough it didn’t survive this summer’s heatwave so we threw it out]

Me: Oh, right!! The Summer sun ‘burnt’ it !! 😦
Sofia: Wasn’t it wearing any suntan cream?? [She said this quite seriously!!!]

Me: LOL No sweetheart and I forget to put a hat on it!!!

Sofia: Silly, Auntie, trees don’t wear hats!!! LOL

But apparently they do put on suntan lotion !!!!!

Knitting and Latch Hooking!!!!

Well, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before but I also love to knit …. in the early 90s I had gone thru quite a phase, knitting for myself and everyone in the family … about 3 years ago I knitting again a small sweater. This summer was visiting my aunt, watching her knit, I got the itch again …. so I’m working on a project to make sweaters for my nieces … It’s all done in ONE piece … at the moment my mom has taken it with her to Naxos so see how well it fits, and how much longer it should be! 😀

No, I haven’t taken up latch-hooking as well!!! 😀 Where would I find the time! I actually finished this project in 1982 … and all this time it was stored away in a wicker basket … so Mom [a sewing Whizz] took it out and made a pillow out of it, and it sits in our living room now!!! Isn’t it cute???
PS. The purple shade pillow on the couch is a cross stitch project of mine!! 😉

Two more layouts …

Pages and 6 & 7 for Shimelle‘s Learn Something new every day ….

Hopefully I’ll get it done by the time I’ll be starting the Christmas Journal. I’ve ordered some Christmas pattern paper, embellishments, and stamps from CraftsULove I just loved their Christmas stuff …

I’ve bought cards from Unicef already and well as wrapping paper. As I don’t see myself making cards this year, buying them might as well go to a worthy cause. I have too much stuff to do with work, so even when I am home, I’m always busy with something for Lexinet! 😀

I don’t mind, it’s interesting, but I love been crafty too!!!
