Well, continuing with with the calendar challenge over at the Kathryn Wheel here is my February page …
For the background I used acryllic paints, strips of music paper …
I painted over the music paper cut hearts and the hearts on the sticker with Maya Road metallic cherry mist … then shaded it in with Pan pastels … the February is a quickutz die … the dots are inka Gold … I used it with a stencil as I would a paste … when it dries it gives it a fantastic effect.
My Dyllusion Curious Corrin with wings on her … and the door is Webster pages … she’s coloured in with Whisper Strokes markers and a bit of stickles for an extra shine …
The endless love tag is a sticker that has been sitting around her forever … I added some colour and stickles to it … the 2013 is a quickutz die and the froggie person from two different Dylusion stamp sets …
The month template is from a scrapbooking pattern paper that I tore up …
And that’s it, I’m all set to go for February … are you????

These last two weeks I’ve been very creative & after finishing all my DT assignments for February I decided to do a layout … so I went first to see what sketch Chrysa had over at the Scrap & Grab this month …

So I started looking at my photos … and I found this cute embellishment given to be by Elina when we were on Aigina together, knew which photo I wanted to use … and that was it … I came up with this!

This is my brother George, his son Dimitraki, and his father-in-law, a warm August afternoon at Moutsouna …

The embellishment was perfect for the photo, and instead of the stitches I used twine to do the fishing line and added little clusters of fish.
I want to use up paper and embellies that I’ve had for ages … and these little ‘sea’ trinkets I had bought once upon a time form the ‘craft’ area at ELC …

The other fish/shell cluster areas …
I’ve also decided to use more of my die cut alphabets … so I’ve changed things around in my room to make them more accessible to use … This is an old Quickutz Empire Mini Alpha …
Finally, under the photo mat I placed gauze with gesso and I dyed another piece of gauze with turquoise dylusion mists …
I hope you like this, I know that I enjoyed making it!

Even before I finished my first C entry for the Alpha Challenge over at the CraftBarn Blog, I knew that I wanted to create a second entry … I thought about C is for clown [have a great clown photo], …. I thought about C is for countryside [to create a country scene] …
… but no, C is for classical jumped out at me … especially its second meaning ..
classical adv
1 traditiona in style, form, or content
EG … classical music
2 relating to ancient Greece or Rome
EG … plays set in classical time
So here is my entry:
I’ve used a selection of ‘classical’ stamps to make my collage … I’ve had these in my stash for more than 15 years now, rarely are they used … so I thought it fitting to use them …
I first glued about 6 pages together and cut a window thru them to create a frame. I used modeling paste and a prima stencil to create the background, misted it heavily with Cosmic shimmer mist and Tattered angels mist and then threw some ultra thick Cosmic embossing powder on it and heated it up!
A close up … I stamped all the images on paper that I had misted with Tattered angels ‘gold’ mist so that they have a shine to them …
I inserted this lady below the frame and then glued down the frame, and inserted the other images onto the frame … creating more depth this way …
My highlighted word … I also stamped a latin text stamp using red stazon to create a subtle background!
… and the second meaning at the top … I didn’t like the way ‘Venus’s’ head stamped directly onto the page, so I restamped it on thin cartridge paper and I stuck it over with gel medium.
Finally to give it all a finishing shine, I passed the edges over with Inka Gold in Copper colour …
I hope you’ve enjoyed this entry … and I’ve inspired you to join us in this Altered Dictionary challenge!!! I don’t know what I’ll do with myself for the next 10 days until the next letter challenge is up!!!
Have a great day!

Well, I’m still so happy about finding the Craft Alpha Challenge, and I’m happy that at least 2 friends are also playing along with me!!!!
It seems that we can do more than one entry per letter, and I think with ‘C’ I will be doing two of them … This dictionary is sewn together in signatures so it’s easy to tear out unwanted pages, so that it doesn’t become too bulky in the end …
Anyway here is my entry for C …
I’ve used a Stampers Anonymous stamp on very thin paper, which I’ve coloured in with Pan pastels and Twinking H2os.
The background after being gessoed was misted with Dylusions and Maya Road mists …
I’ve added 3 D paste with a mask which I’ve also coloured with Twinking H2os … I’ve highlighted my word entry!
Another close up of the dimension in the page …
This is becoming totally addictive and I’ve loved going round to the other blogs to admire more entries … since I have about 10 more days … I believe I’ll be able to make another entry …
Have a nice day everyone!

Continuing with the calendar challenge over at the Kathryn Wheel here is my January pages …
Background created with dylusion mists and used salt technique …
The drawings of the girls are done by my 10 year old niece Sofia … I asked her to create two girls for my book!
Modeling paste with a mask to give even more dimension …
The ‘January’ and the 2013 is a quickutz diecut ….
I decided to add small envelops for the days … and plan to fill them with notes! :) Hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with February soon!

It’s been a long time [I feel] since I’ve been EXCiTED about a new project … and yet, it’s the beginning of the new year, and after the post Christmas blues, it’s nice to feel excited about something!
I’ve decided to play along with the Craft Barn this year … they have a fab challenge going on called the Alpha Challenge … whereby every 2 weeks they will choose a letter of the alphabet for us to alter a dictionary and choose a word and make an entry!!!
Here is my Dictionary … a freebie that was given to me at a book exhibition years ago …
and my entry for the first challenge:
Some closeups!!!
My word highlighted!!!
I’ve used gel medium and glued the other ‘v’ pages together … I don’t know if for the other letters I will be doing two entries … but I look forward to creating more in this book!!!
So what do you think … will you join me???

Good morning everyone … this past weekend I’ve had the best time of my life with great friends and being in a creative frenzy … but hopefully in the next few days I will have a separate post for you about it …
Today we have our monthly sketch over at GET CREATIVE which was designed by our ELINA …
Here it is:

Here is my take on it:
It’s been a while that I’ve been wanting to scrap this photo of Katerina’s stockings & shoes … she’s such a girlie girl and once I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do!!!
I love the embrossed paper and it was so similar to the flowers in her stocking that I just wanted to use it, and couldn’t resist using the pink distress ink to highlight some parts of it.
I hope you like my layout, and why don’t you go over to the GET CREATIVE BLOG to see some amazing inspiration!!!!
