Travel Paris Minibook

I participated in the summer mini exchange on the Scrapping in Greece forum.

The topic had been travelling … and I was happy to be partnered off with a very dear friend of mine … Irini Liolia …

She had taken a trip to Paris in July, and I decided to make a minibook for her to keep photos and journaling of that trip …

I had nothing in so far as embellishments or papers to do with Paris.

So I set about making my own embellishments, inspired by my cousin who makes jewellery, using liquid glass … I made a few compositions using photos that I printed off the internet … metal charms, rubons, papers … and then my cousin poured the liquid glass over it …

I decided to use Basic Grey the Capella Collection, as I felt that the colours suited Irini, and there was actually some French writting on the papers … Tim Holtz paper tape, charms, rubons, flowers, brads and ribbons, and some stamping, with plenty of inking …

So here it is, and as always if you want to see a bigger image, just press on the photo …

It was a total pleasure to do!

Maybe one day, I’ll get to Paris and make my own mini! 😉

Flying Free

The Crafty Croppers Gr blog, has turned into a challenge blog so it’s time to GET CREATIVE at Crafty Croppers GR!!!!

They have already announced TWO challenges for October, and the prize is just lovely … go here to see what you can win!!! You still have time … until October 31st!!

I have started out with the first challenge, which was to use Autumn colours and to have a leaf or leaves somewhere …

I was first inspired by a bit of my ‘garbage’ … a piece of paper that I have punched out the design with Martha Stewart’s punch ….

Then I looked for a photo that had leaves in it, found it, and that was it … it all came together afterwards …

Here is what I came up with .. Flying Free

The leaves that decorate the page are either diecuts or stenciled out of the negative … I painted around the photo to make a frame, and used a rubon on the paint … but look at Katerina’s expression … doesn’t she look like she’s enjoying the sun, and the sounds around her ???  She truly loved to swing back and forth …

I used a journaling card, plus stickers to make the title, highlighted with my glitter pens to make it pop up more …

It’s so much fun to get back into the rhythm of scrapping …

Katerina is actually coming to Athens with her Dad to see some dentist tomorrow, and staying for two days, so looking forward to seeing her again …

Check in again tomorrow to see a mini book that I’ve made …

Sassy Lil’ Sketches October 21st

This month we have a brilliant sketch to work with, I realize that I say that each month, but what can I say I love Cherie’s sketches!!!

October 21st sketch

From the moment that I saw the sketch I knew which photos I would use, and the story I needed to tell …

One evening in Apiranthos during August, my two nieces had come to the village one evening to visit me … We usually would go out, I’d treat them, and we’d visit my aunt’s shop, to see the girls [my cousins] and to chat.

Well, I asked Chrisanthy to take the perfect photo of us, and we took about 6 of them, but it was such fun doing this ‘mini’ photo shoot …

The 3 of us

I love that the base paper, looks like a frame, I’ve used all the stuff from Sarah Card’s May kit… and if you have noticed one of the photos are in Cartoon style … no I didn’t do it myself …

the very talented SJ from Little Musings has, I have loved her style for a while, and I asked her to do two drawings for me …

I’m so pleased with the outcome!!!

Life has been incredibly busy, in a good stressful way …

I’ve been busy with work … we’ve added new interactive whiteboards, so we changed all our coursebooks which means a lot of ‘homework’ for me this year to prepare ….

Mom had been away for 7 months, but she’s back now, and in full force, so we are doing a lot of ‘cleaning’ out and errands …

There has been so many family social events, as our family continues to grow …

So, hopefully now, I’ll be able to find some time for my hobbies, and my blog!
