I’m in a tangling mood …

I’ve recently discovered the official Zentangle sites … I’ve always been a doodler, but when I found this site & this site as well as this site, well that was it …

 

So I got out this little notebook out of a drawer that I had been saving for a special occasion and put it to use ….

So as you’ve already seen, I used some in my art journaling, and you’ll see some more in my future layouts …

I use both Sakura Micron as well as Faber Castel Ecco Pigmant in 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, & 0.8 nibs … I haven’t started using colour yet, but I’m sure I will …

My first art journal and an entry!

I had been flirting with the idea of learning how to make my own book … and when I saw that my friend Zeffy was doing a class … I signed up for it … I was suppose to do it before Easter, but due to bad timing it was postponed until last Saturday … so with my ‘classmates’ Christina and Anastasia we had a great time learning how to bind an art journal … I never thought I would be able to make one, and with Zeffy’s instructions and preparation it was all sooooo easy!

Sometimes I really feel that this saying is most suitable … not a ‘F**k off!’ but an ‘Up yours!’ LOL

I’ve first used book paper and scrap papers, then misted over it … I used two colours … Maya Mists Hydrangea Blue & Cream Metallic, Studio Calico’s white , then did my Tangle borders with Markers 0.4, 0.6 & 0.8 … then using Stazon I stamped the saying … went over with a bit of white paint marker …

The hand it mine … I took a photo of my hand using a drawing effect … I painted it with distress antique ink, and used shimmers blingz to do the nails!

I added a checked stamp with blue stazon, and so white drops of Maya Mist’s cherry red.

I used Distress paints on the edges and to go over some points …

This was absolutely so much FUN to do, and I look forward to filling this journal page by page!

A card sketch challenge …

over at Get Creative today … and as I mentioned on the 5th, I’m helping out this month …

I needed to make a Birthday card,

so I thought this sketch would be perfect!

 

But these last few months I’ve been inspired by Ronda Palazzari and especially THIS card of hers …

So I decided to make a 3 tag card …

Here is the front side open … I’ve stretched the sketch a bit to suit me! 🙂

I’ve embossed the tags, misted, distressed, used washi tape to stick them together …

Here is the inside side … the centre tag is a vellum pocket and I wrote my sentiments and tucked it in …

I gave the card to my friend Katerina Lailopoulou along with a little handmade ornament to hang wherever her ‘home’ is! 🙂

Unfortunately I was so rushed to make it, that I literally had it transported and saved in a little plastic tupper box …

Scrapbooking is …

LIVE, LAUGH & PLAY!!

And sooo much more!!!

With the challenge set by Lena Makri on her Enjoy Scrapping Blog, which was to tell about how I enjoy scrapping … I came up with the following layout ….

I don’t just enjoy scrapbooking … I live it … I laugh with & at it … and I definitely play … hence the photo of me from our first Crafty Croppers Crop!

A couple of days ago, my sister-in-law posted on my Facebook wall a site called Wordle … what it does is create clouds of words … so I typed my blog address in, and the words you see in the middle of the layout is the result … I printed it out and voila!!

I’ve used a number of Echo Park papers and embellies which I actually have bought from Enjoy Scrapping … so as they are so colourful and lively, it seemed fitting to use … the twine and metal scissor is from a current exchange we did [thanks Zeff for everything!]

Finally my latest craze is washi tapes … I love the feel of them, their translucency, their colours … I’ve added three strips to the layout to create a lacy border edge!

Get Creative Sketch Challenge

 

Wow, this month is just whizzing by … already the 15th and we have a fabulous sketch from our very own Mary Agapides for you this month …

Here it is:

 

 

When I saw this sketch I didn’t know what I could do with it … but then I came up with an idea ….

First let me say that in no way do I see myself as a princess or a guru … LOL … The guru is a title that my friends have given me, [I don’t remember who first started it] and it has ‘stuck’ … so I decided to have a bit of creative fun … and this is what came of that!!!

I’ve used a wing stencil, and I couldn’t find my 3d paste so I used some Gesso primer that I had instead, I went over it with a sepia marker to outline the wings …

I tore up, and lay down paper, misted a bit with the chevron stencil and white mist … placed some rubons over the photo, then I stitched the circles …

The words Η μικρή πριγκηπισσα & the two star wands are from Sfragidomania, the rest of the title has been cut on my Bigshot. I added the hearts, splatter and a bit of bling!

Finally my tiara, is a sizzix thin cut die, I placed aluminum tape on a piece of paper and ran it thru the bigshot and added a bit of bling!

Happy Scrapbooking Day!!!

Yesterday I had a fantastic evening with my scrappy friends … We met up at TGIF [apt for the day] and had so much fun laughing!!!

It made the end of the week so enjoyable and looking forward to a weekend of creating!!!

First off I have some great news to share with you … Starting June 1st I will be designing for a UK based challenge blog

I’m excited because it is a project a month, and we all know now I love to be inspired!!!

They are currently have a colour pallet challenge … why don’t you check it out!!!

Secondly, this month I will also be showing you some cards!  As I’m helping out with the Get Creative Card Challenges

So for May 5th – we have a create a card with a WREATHE, and I had so much fun making this card:

I thought it would make a lovely wedding card … it’s an easel card …

The top layer has been misted with my chevron mask, I’ve cut out a circle, placed it on 3 d foam pads … I’ve intertwined the roses adding the word beads in between …

The sentiment read: Make the everyday Magical and it is a Unity stamp …

The pattern paper I’ve used is from Glitz: French Kiss 6×6 paper pad!

Happy Birthday Miss Art’s Papercrafting!

How does time fly …

I cannot believe that it’s been a year already but it has …

Miss Art’s Papercrafting opened its doors and for me, as an international student it’s been a great fit, as I’m able to learn new things from so many different people all over the world …

It’s opened my creative horizons, and I love the library which lets me catch up on past classes because some times it just gets too hectic to watch the classes the months they are posted!

So, happy birthday … and to celebrate they are holding a great giveaway … go to their site … or their facebook page and check it out!!!

Our Family

Good evening!!! How is May fairing so far?  I’m off for a coffee so I wanted to upload this post before I left!

 

Here is a photo of my cousin Dina, who lives in the States … I’ve known her since she was a child, and the fact that she has a family of her own amazes me!

I’m entering this layout is two challenges.  One is The Studio’s April 1st challenge and I’ve actually managed to use everything:

Kraft – paper for butterflies and tag
Twine – blue
Die cuts – butterflies and leave
Ink – over the photo and all the papers
A Star – they are actually two of them and they are made with washi tape
Washi Tape – in stars and on layout

Happy May Day!!!

Καλό μήνα και καλά Πρωτομαγιά!!!

Have a great month everyone … I hope you are enjoying your day today … it’s a holiday for us, and I hope to enjoy it with a little crafting and lots of coffee time with friends!

But it’s the first of the month and over at the Get Creative challenge blog we have another great challenge for you …

Use FLOWERS and the theme is YOUR MOTHER!!!

So here is my take on it … introducing my heroine, my Housefairy, my Wonderwoman!

No matter how many times I photographed it the photo of the whole layout came out with a more sepia look, but the colours are more pearl white!

I’ve used 3 pieces from Sfragidomania once again, and I had so much fun preparing the chipboard pieces!

Underneath the paper and embellies I’ve used a rubon with clocks to symbolize time passing [Kaisercraft], then I’ve painted the two chipboard pieces with gesso, [the brown little oval frame is from Sfragidomania, the other green swirl is from Maya Roads], added the heart banner [Glitz diecut], the chipboard ‘Mom’ [EchoPark] and the flowers … there’s a tag above the green swirl where I’ve journalled!

I’ve used Sfragidomania’s chipboard chandelier.  Again I painted it first with gesso, then went over it with Blingz Pixie dust paint.  It gives it a pearly silvery shine!

The papers I’ve used are from the Glitz French Kiss collection, from a 6×6 pad … the base cardstock is Bazzil wth a pearly shine.

Can you see where by two sleets of 6×6 join? LOL … Who says you only need 12×12 papers to create layouts!

Here you can see another chipboard piece by sfragidomania … I painted it in gesso, then sponged the edged with distress ink, then painted the centre drawer with Maya road chocolate mist, then went over parts of it again with Blingz Pixie dust paint … the cake is from Crate Paper, and the flowers sculpture flowers by Prima.
