Follow your Heart!

I didn’t think that I would have another layout to show you so soon, but here I am again …

Recently I had bought a ‘Be Happy’ kit from Enjoy Scrapping which had all the latest My Mind’s Eye products …. so I decided to play with their Blog Challenge 33 on the My Mind’s Eye Blog!

We have to use the following sketch, and use 80% of their products ….

MME2012_sketch_layout03_thumb[1]

So here is my layout, and please excuse the terrible photos as they are taken at night …

040

The photo in the layout is from a wedding that I attended 2 years ago. In the photo is myself, Roula and Nectaria and we are dancing at the reception!

The only thing that is not My Mind’s Eye is the baker’s twine, the word YMCA and the music sheet paper …

043

I’ve cut around the bird & banner of a second copy of the paper and raised it using 3D foams. That’s how I put the twine between the birds beak.

042

Used a gel pen to highlight certain elements on paper, distressed, misted & inked!

Thank you for your lovely comments … they are always appreciated!

3 challenges with 1 layout

I guess my mind works in mysterious ways, and is able to see more than just one thing … I’ve been feeling very creative lately … maybe it’s because I don’t feel any pressure to finish a layout [I’m all caught up with my DT projects] … maybe it’s just because there are so many inspiring challenges out there!!!

So to start with I’m entering this in CSI Case no. 11 Once again their challenges just made me get out my papers and photos!

Here is the layout I have to show you!!!

228

Evidence: Used paint in background, butterfly accents, string, tearing, and vintage images.

Testimony:  I scattered my journaling and ‘elevated’ some words by using mini alphabets, and I also used the inspiration words: wonder, ties

The layout was inspired by Melenia’s sketch on Get Creative … I love her sketches so much that it didn’t seem right not to use it!

Finally I’m also entering it in Bird is the Word as I’ve used their CHARM word, both in the title and the journaling!

228

Central cluster around the photo .. used fussy cut images. Can you spy my little crochet piece that I’ve tucked under it all?

233

Used my Sakura starburst paints to enhance part of the paper, as well as distress ink, to add more of the colours!

My title is on the chipboard: Be your charming self! My stitching, more embellies!

Thank you for stopping by, and I just wanted to say that almost 90% of the stuff I used I have got from Enjoy Scrapping a Greek On-Line shop that goes a little extra mile for its customers!!

March 22, 2012

I am so honored ….

… to be featured on this amazing Swedish Scrap blog called Scrapptorrent. I was asked to write about whatever I wanted and to share whatever layouts I wanted … so I shared my latest passion … if you want to check it out just go to their blog

And if you can’t get to their link it’s:  http://scrapptorget.wordpress.com/

Thank you!!

CSI – Case no. 10

Well, I’ve always been a fan of the Crime TV Series, and I’m totally in love with the new challenge ning Color … Stories … Inspiration and their amazing challenges!

I came across them last week, but I was too slow to take part in Case no. 9, so I’m jumping in with Case no. 10 …

Here is my layout:

Apart from the colours, I’ve used fabric, and metal, and as the sun was so bright behind them and I was sitting in the shade, it looks like my SIL & nieces have been lit up …

I’ve documented about motherhood as well as used the inspirational words …

Journalling reads:
It’s wondrous to see the open relationship that you enjoy with your girls! I hope you will always be honest and share confidences and love!

Some close-ups:

006

The tag has been embossed, and I’ve added my crochet motif … they do have a tendency of slipping into my layouts!!!

007

The fabric, metal butterfly … hand stitching all around, and I’m misted / masked the background paper!

008

Journalling, butterfly with twine!

A side view to see depth!

Thank you for dropping by!

Some cards & crocheting!

This past weekend I was able to find some time to get a few creative stuff done … I wanted to make two cards … One, after being encouraged for Laurie’s daughter who is turning 16. Anastasia encouraged us to make a card, and we’ll send them altogether.

015

… and this is a card that I made for Katerina since she had won the Giveaway and we were meeting up so that I could give it her.

019

… and I’ve been on a roll with my crochet, playing with different colours … but now I think it’s time to try a new motif! 🙂

014

Hope you are having a great week … thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday layout

Yesterday I had fun finishing off a layout that I had planned to do last weekend … Last weekend while I was getting ready to crop with friends I was looking thru a bag of photos that I had … I found a batch from my godson’s birthday in 2008 … wow, time does fly … I had printed them out ‘then’ in hopes of making a mini, but I thought I should scrap the event …

So here’s my layout:

021

I was inspired by Melenia’s sketch:

… and Get Creative’s colour pallet for their March 1st challenge :

I’ve used Echo Park’s Time and Season Series, and it was a lot of fun to do …

Some close ups:

022

I want to thank Mary Ann for her lovely pdf she offers quite a few, and they are always fun to use … I’ve included another of my crochet motifs which I’ve misted! 🙂

023

The title, and more clustering!

024

Just a few bits to the bottom embellish cluster!

It’s amazing how fast young children grow!!
