Challenging myself!

In the Willowing & Friends group on Facebook, where there are over 7000 members who love the Willowing art, there was a post about how two members got together and arted together and created this:

page

So I was sooooo totally inspired that I sketched my own version in my new Dylusions creative flip journal whose pages are 8 x 5 inches …

So I first created this:

IMG_20170516_122311_960

and then coloured it in:

IMG_20170517_132951_063

and then created this one:

IMG_20170518_134757_472

I mainly used only my Progresso woodless pencils, a water brush and a fine black marker!!!  It’s incredible what you can create with limited supplies!!!

Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you will all enjoy your Sunday!!!

Lifebook Week 19–Less is More

For once I’m actually uploading a current lesson … This past week has been incredibly busy, and I had no time to actually do a bit of art. (I’m actually writing this on Sunday evening 14/5/2017)  … so I thought yesterday, would be a perfect day to start this lesson by Melissa Dinwiddie .

It was an easy technique, and great to get you back in the art mojo realm … and frankly once I started it was hard to stop!!!

So I ended up making an entry in my Lifebook, a post card, covering a bead box, and the exterior covers of the art journal where my girl drawings can be found …

Here is a close up of the bead box, the cover is made of plastic:

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed these as much as I did.

It was nice to be able to find time to art, and I plan to get a bit more done now …

Have a great week ahead everyone!

More postcards and woodless pencils!

I’ve continued arting every day, creating a postcard every day this past week … and I wanted to share / show a new discovery … woodless pencils … these are by Kohinoor, called Progresso Aquarell woodless pencils.

The react really well to water and I’ve even have a video to show you with them into action … here is what I made, and the video!

You can view the video here:

Post card Frenzy

Hello everyone, I hope you had a lovely Easter!!!

I managed to rest and even went to Naxos for a few days …. I wanted to take some art with me, so I settled for my watersolubles as they are like to carry.

As for paper, my solution was to take watercolour post cards, that are a pad of 15-20 in 10×15 cm size …

I passed the time on the ship and during my trip!

Here are a few that I created:

Lifebook Lesson 16–Letting your Story surface

This surprisingly was a lovely lesson, where from abstract art you were able to discover a story to tell … The love Mandy van Goeije walks us through her process in a lovely calming way …

Art Journalling, more watercolour girls and #the100daysproject!!!

Practice, practice and more practice, and more practice!

I have found that the more I draw, the more I use the watercolour markers, the easier and more fun it gets!

IMG_20170331_084830_401

I’m taking part in the 100 day challenge project, trying to do a bit every day and uploading it on Instagram!

We are enjoyed to use their hashtag but also create a more personal one, and I came up with #the100daysButFirstIArt … because I didn’t know if I could be true to just one kind of art for the full 100 days.

So here are some more girls that I’ve created:

Lifebook Week 15–Honouring your Story

This week was a lovely lesson, one of the things that I love to do … doodling and writing … Jodi Ohl is our teacher, and thru her guidance I was able to create this:

IMG_20170504_105121_823

I started off with a base of collage and watercolours, which was lots of fun to do:

You have to love gesso for muting out the bold colours:

Lifebook Week 14–The Gifts in our Stories

This post was written May 28th 2017:

Well, May is almost over, and this weekend I’ve been working on Week 14 Lifebook class, The Gifts in our Stories by Tamara Laporte .  Another lovely beautiful twofold lesson.  She actually showed us two versions of the same girl, and I’ve ended up doing both.

I started sketching the first girl last weekend and added to her during the start of the week.  Then again, life got away from me, and it was only late Saturday that I was able to get back to my art.

But once I got going I ended up finishing two pieces!!!

So here is the start, the sketch:

The Zen stance, I’ve never done yoga in my life, but I’m ohhmmmmmed a few times … LOL ❤

IMG_20170522_105351_993

Added colour and collage to background.

IMG_20170528_004702_951

Calling her done!!!

I started on the second girl almost immediately after.

This week was marred by a tragedy that happened in Manchester, a suicide bomber entered the foyer of the Ariana Grande concert. As a result 22 children and parents are dead, and over 70 have been injured.  It was hard to process it all, and with every posting I seemed to burst out in tears, so it seemed natural to create a second prayer girl and dedicate it to the victims of the terrible event!

Sketch with the first skin tone …

20170528_022427_HDR

More colour added to my girl.

IMG_20170528_042233_013

My finished piece, have added 22 hearts for the victims, as I was adding the hearts I was thinking that they are too many!!!

The streets of Heaven are too crowded with Angels tonight!!!!

Life book Week 13–Anna Hamman

I was so excited when I say that Anna Hamman was doing Lifebook this year!!!

If you remember I have done another class of hers, in the Ever After 2016 series … you can see the blogpost here!

The class was entitled The Soulful You, and it will definitely merit another try, I learnt quite a few new techniques … so I’m sooooo happy with my end results …

Here is my finished piece:
