Lazy faggots are too bleak, let's appreciate art. I enjoy how even though painting is pain and I'll never execute a piece the way I want to, it gets all the horrible visions out of my head until more come along and I'm compelled to repeat the cycle.
Could some people post pics of angry animals? Need it as reference for some studies. Any other random animal ref pics are appreciated too, though.

>>3219338pretty good. but think about edge variation more. and warm/cool relationships.
>>3221473I like the composition in both. Though the body trails on the left are more aesthetic, and the colors seems more tightly chosen, there is an improvement in the new one. Mainly anatomy and render. But your proportions are a bit off. For example the head of the male on the right is too big for his body, but not enough to look cartoony like the left one.

In case no one wants to watch it because she talks very slowly and repeats shit like she's talking to a toddler, here's a summary about the video>Artist wanted to do a collab work on youtube with a guy who ran a channel that teaches how to draw popular cartoon characters>Says the guy was disabled but nice>Collab was about both of them making "how to draw videos" and uploading them onto their channels>Guy vanished after uploading two videos>Vanishes from social media too>For a few years she has thought that the guy must be dead>She made a video about it, and some viewers digged up info on the guy>Turns out that he was actually into child porn and was taken to jail in the middle of the collab time

>>3231379except for the fact that measuring isnt fucking mentioned at all meanwhile "accurate strokes (accurate LINES)" fucking are. the point is to simplify CURVED LINES into STRAIGHT LINES which are theoretically easier to draw.
>>3231386You can read, good on you.Yes, measurement is not mentioned in that picture, but do you know where the envelop technique originates from or what it's used for? Thought so.I don't even know why I'm bothering with you, but people like you make me mad, because people like you take everything in without questioning the source or reflecting and then you spit out half true information more retards chew on.CAPSLOCK all you want, it doesn't make your argument any more valid. > the point is to simplify CURVED LINES into STRAIGHT LINESHave you ever asked yourself why that is? Not because they're easier to draw per say, but easier to measure. That said, it's a good technique and you should use it. It might help you to improve your lines as well, but it's not primarily designed for that. To improve your linework I highly recommend to get into gesture drawing and it's related concepts. And no, it doesn't only apply to figure drawing. Also, out of curiosity, why do you feel the urge to win this argument? You're on an anonymous image board.Comment too long. >>3230142>implying everything low key is blackif it becomes too hard to see what the fuck is going on use heuristics.learn to rely on an understanding of perspective gradients to recreate the phenomenon.if values are too close together my advice is to use really hard brushes like fill to delineate the different value shapes.getting the correct shape of the phenomenon is usually most important. all other things are relative and based on comparison.here's a shitty version i did in like two seconds. I'll try and do a better job on my second attempt.

Are there any 30+ beginners here? Can we start a thread and share our progress, limitations, realistic wishes, impacts of our daily struggle, etc.
Nice excuse for not practicing enough, you can blame anything in your life if you want to but the fact is still there, that you are a lazy piece of shit
>>3230769she posted it here >>3226056
How do you relax, take your time to do the drawing exercises properly and only move on when you are sure you learned whatever the exercise was supposed to teach? How do you not spiral into negativity if you have trouble with an exercise? How do you focus on the process and not get discouraged over how long it will take you to reach your goals?I read some bios of artists I like and they were all good at drawing many years before my current age. Because of that I am feeling this pressure of needing to succeed fast. There is so much competition... whatever you can do someone can do it better... whatever you can do someone much younger than you can do it too... so whenever I don't manage to do an exercise right straight away I get depressed because I think I need to be even faster to catch up to others and can't allow myself to get stuck. Then I just can't focus on the exercise anymore... of course I know that there is no other way to get good but exercise but paradoxically I will procrastinate practicing just so I am not confronted with the reality of how long it will take me to get good.I just want to get into a place where time stands still and practice there until I am good. It feels bad being old without any skills or accomplishments when others are 10 years younger and already much better than me. It hurts my ego a lot to be honest. As I practice I can feel the time going on and on relentlessly. Has anyone else dealt with feelings like these and managed to overcome them? I really want to be able to just focus on the process.
>>3230114Sorry, I was painting abstracts, and doing Christmas stuff. Like soaking the fruit brandy. But first I had to get everything ready. And paint bread. Twice. Thoughts on this tablet, /ic/? I'm thinking of getting it in the near future. So far most reviews seem positive though I'd like to hear something more personal from someone or a few people here who might've had the chance to use it extensively.

>>3228984So scribbles a 4yr old can do is better than fantasy work done by professionals?
>>3229894>>3228984Why are you acting like something cant be art through visuals alone? All that craftsmanship art in galleries like Da Vinci's proves you wrong.Ruan Jia is a very plain, boring digital artist, his hues and da glow charms the masses, because, heh, pwetty colors is the only thing people care about. Good enough for exibition.
>>3231043>>3231043Well, DaVinci's stuff (and all renaissance masters' stuff) is not only is great craftmanship but it also reflects the philosophy of that era.I'm not the MOMA guy, I think Ruan Jia is a great artist but I think that there are other angles in which to experience (making and/or consuming) art rather than just great craftsmanship, which is the merit I'd give guys like Basquiat who try a more visceral approach.I just think that both angles have their merits and everyone should be allowed to enjoy either one or both without someone shitting on them.
>>3229897>>3229883>>3229808why are the faces so flat? the colour fucking sucks on them, like jesus christ, it looks like a couple of bad rendered screenshots from a ps2 gameam i the only one seeing this, or am i just ignorant?
