Their tracking is pretty bad- maybe not as bad as 10 years ago when the service was called "delivery confirmation" and did only that but those "in transit to destination" updates actually mean the package has not been scanned and they are putting up automated filler info for that day.The online tracking info is also crap and nowhere near as detailed as what USPS employees see on their network. Half the time an arrival scan may be inaccurate- if a package was scanned for a container then it scans as arrived at destination, but it may not have actually been in that container so it never really got there. Employees can see that, the public can't see it because we get crap.USPS knows they can get away with this poor level of service too, because you will not file an insurance claim, they know everyone who has a package lost will file a claim with Paypal instead and get the money back from the seller, and eBay encourages this by making buyers think it's the seller's fault, allowing USPS to screw up with no repercussions.My favorite is when it hits your local sort facility but still takes 2-3 days to get to you even when other packages get to you fast, it's like a selective choice of what they can and will send on that day.That's ignoring local PO horror stories, I've read plenty, mainly mail carriers not even attempting to leave a package and instead putting a slip in the box.Right now their service has been even worse because of the increase in holiday mailing, I have not received a Priority package in 2 days for 3 weeks now.

"UPS mail innovations" Is the absolute shittiest tier though, It's basically UPS picks it up and at some point hands it off to USPS to finish delivery. I've had 3 of 5ish packages through that just go missing.
The post office at my previous address was the most ineptly run shipping office of any company that I've ever used in my entire life. Every time I went there, it was at the very least a 30 minute wait, even just to pick up a package, as the line was always out the door and there were never more than 2 clerks running the counter at any time.The worst incident I had with them involved a nearly 300 dollar package from Japan shipped via EMS. My delivery driver managed to deliver it to the wrong address. When I went to the post office to complain that the package was listed delivered on the tracking info, but I never received it, they tried to prove to me I did by showing me the confirmation signature of a completely different person. That, legally, also constitutes mail fraud on part of the receiver, as they never made any attempt to return it after realizing it was delivered to the incorrect address. After nearly two weeks of back and forth with their manager, they finally got their driver to go back to the incorrect address and pick it up and bring it to me. My delivery person was never fired or punished as far as I could tell, even though this was only one of multiple complaints. Any time I brought issues like this up with them I was told "she's normally a great delivery person."Fast forward to this morning, and I had a package I was expecting to be delivered last week finally update its tracking info to "delivered." No package on my doorstep. I realized I shipped it to my previous address, so my mistake there, but I had mail forwarding set up 4 months ago when I moved, and that should stay constant for a year, so this shouldn't have been a problem anyway. I contacted the previous post office, who informed me they "hire a bunch of new people" for seasonal Christmas work, so they probably overlooked the mail forwarding notification for me. They're supposedly picking the package up tomorrow to bring back to me, but I'm not holding my breath they'll actually do it.

I can't even look at a new set without thinking about how I have nowhere to put it and it immediately turns me off.
