honestly i dont really like visualspicer's models because they're all 'flat' if you know what i mean. His star wars stuff is fine because they are smaller but his cars are like 2 feet and have little details in the parts which really is a shame because gundam models have way more detail put in to them, and even he's created a 6 foot gundam! if you really want to miss out on detail i suggest this model, though it might not be of your interest due to its size
>>

Either way thanks i can split up the images and enlarge them so the size could be better thanks

there are 2 separate things.

Wet folding is using a wet heavy (>100g/sm usually) paper that you dampen and fold while it is still wet. Generaly you would only use plain water for that.

Wet finishing is using a usually thinner paper, you fold everything dry. When come the moment of shaping the model you wet the part you want to shape, you shape the part and then you hold it in the shape you want until it's dry. This can be do e with simple wather but is usually better with a bit of MC.

How do you ensure accuracy while folding complex models? I tried a test fold of the Western Dragon 3.0 by Shuki Kato, I was very careful with my folds, used a ruler, did absolutely everything right and then before even getting to step 10 I see this. How can I even prevent this from happening?
1 reply omitted. Click here to view.
>>
You need to take into account the thickness of the paper. There's a method called "fudging your folds". This is what took my folding to the next level
>>
>>559145
I do that. I said, I was as careful as possible about everything. I even folded layers separately when the instruction called for them to be folded together.
>>
>>559148
Fudging is about adding inaccuracies to compensate, not just being careful
>>
>>559129
>First make sure the sheet you start with is a perfect square.
10 times this.

Also i fold big diagonals in 2 step. I fold from one corner to the middle of the sheet and then from the other corner to the middle of the sheet. This way you don't always get a perfectly straight diagonal (though deviation is negligible) but you'll get perfectly sharp points.

You can also check before creasing. If you have to make a crease between two points you adjust the paper to make the crease and just pinch it on one of the points (or both). Unfold and check that the mark you made is perfectly placed, adjust it if not. Once it's all good crease the whole thing. This may add fatigue to the paper though.

Anyway, practice makes it perfect. Take your time, ruler is rarely needed and also check your ruler, it may be less straight than you think. Last advice : it's often possible to compensate (little) bad precreasing by adjusting your folds here and there in the following steps.
>>
>>559150
I don’t use my ruler to make sure my creases are straight. I use it to precisely measure thirds and parallelism.

Hey guys, I'm going to be making a new video series where I spend 15-30 mins designing quick and simple paper toys.

Leave a reply with a character or idea and I'll work it into the series. Cheers.

Op delivering, but perhaps a little late.

I designed a moon-rabbit for you in the latest, holiday themed episode of Let's Design. I also give a seven minute long explanation of some paper engineering techniques that were a bitch to draw diagrams for. Enjoy peeps.

Dude, holy shit. That's actually really fucking cool, both the creative process behind concept boarding it and then actually prototyping it and putting it together.

I mean, teeth aside (I actually paid attention to and appreciated your dry, pseudo-nonsensical humor, hence the focus on the mouth), this whole thing is really fucking cool and makes me want to try and get back into papercrafting instead of being afraid of just constantly fucking shit up or printing things in the wrong proportion/size, etc.

"Teeth aside" - Cheers, my self esteem needed this.

On a more self indulgent note, I recently got my hands on a whole box of Racer Knights, they're like slot together paper craft cars, but trading cards. I reviews a packet of these a while back, and am now opening a bunch up on my second channel, if that sounds like something anyone would be interested in.

Hi. I'm looking for the Savoia S21 designed by Ojimak.

There is a photo in his site, http://ojimak.web.fc2.com/hanger.html
and found another photo in other place (attached).

But can't find a download. If anybody knows where to get it please share link!
>>
Ojimak never released the design because he couldn't get it to fly (one of his requirements). BTW, that's not Ojimak's, that's Goodduck's and don't bother asking, he did a limited release (about 60, if i recall) and he won't release any more....something about him working for Disney.

look closer pal. That's not Goodduck's. Is not even close. This white prototype is. (see the differences?)
And I already know it is not available. he never released it either. You must be confusing it with the Laputa Flappter. That's why I asked for ojimak's.
If the first photo I posted isn't from the ojimak version, then there is another kit of the Savoia out there.
>>
>>558983
I had this lurking in my computer. I know it's not Ojimak's but maybe it's useful.

Have you given origami as a gift to someone? Did they like it? Pic related, what I’m giving to a girl for some Secret Santa thing on Monday. I put a lot of effort into it and I hope she’ll like it very much.

Let me get one thing straight. To start with, you don't tell me what I'd better. Secondly, I don't give a rats ass how hard you slaved over making that ugly ass design. Either you like making these things, or you don't.

"shoe on head"

greentext tells camwhore to do it, takes shoe off and place on head instead of some kind of contortion which the poster originally wanted, and then because it was funny got a bunch of other camwhores to balance a shoe on head

it was some copypasta thing awhile ago

As >>558746 said, you need to check a previous diagram (this one is to fold a lid, the other one is probably for the box).
Hopefully, at the start of the other diagram, you'll get your ratio.
What book is it from?
