Project funded or monthly donations?Which would you choose or have you done? I've done kickstarter twice for comics and don't think I can go for the monthly pledge route because I don't have a big enough following
>>3230512>2000 followers>400 backersmiring your friend’s people skills
>>3230517yeah he's awesome, but followers isn't the whole picture. the second project was 90% funded 24 hours before the countdown, and shot up to 108% at the last hour because that shit gets hyped on the front page. That is why I personally would take the kickstarter route over patreon because I can't be bothered with social media crap
>>3230512have you tried to submit the comic at various publishers before trying the kickstarter route?
>>3230550yeah but didn't fall through, once publishers see interest from people you gain a lot more credit
Considering patreon has been full of controversy lately, Kickstarter seems more reliable
does this count as art?
I'm struggling to believe that's made by humans, say more art.
>>3229037Dadaism.
>>3229215what is irony
>>3231202more importantly...what is post irony?
>>3231203is certainly isnt any of that
>tfw already lost $200 in pledges from Patreons stupid fee changes>tfw it's only been one dayFirst they change the logo and now this. Is Patreon run by rhesus monkeys?
Maybe it'll blow over? Certainly once the majority of users bitch about it patreon will back down, right?
>>3230126It's a neo-nazi site with hate in its title, which means they think of porn as the ultimate degeneracy and it'll stigmatize your name just to use their platform.I'm not signing them off completely, but if you wanna do an alternative to Patreon, why not fucking do it right.
>>3230640>making porn>stigmatize your namewut.

Does anyone really think this is something that is going to get better? Should I just give up now?>>>/a/165597121
This will be invaluable to animation. Holy shit imagine the amount of one man created content is going be around soon this is completely adequate for that application.
>>3231104No. Computers are a tool that can be used by humans to create art.
Computers will one day overtake us in almost every skill. What should we humans do, just drop dead and leave everything to machines?
>>3229964Is that Tim Roth?
>>3229561YoI literally am not able to work this out, nothing i put on it works
How do we fix, them, /ic/?
>>3231163 You're right, but you have to remember that Loomis is a cross section between advice AND a meme. Loomis is a bit dated, but he does talk about a broad range of subjects in a relatively comprehensive way that even many modern authors and instructors don't. In either case though, when people here say "Loomis" they're only being partially literal
>>3231009Maybe we could make a way for people to self-crit, like a section in the sticky where there would be drawing with common errors and their crits.>example(my apologies to the author)Pic related demonstrates errors common to almost every /beg/ poster - work from big to small, line>shape>form>anatomy rather than anatomy from the start. If we have this section and link to it often, people will feel embarassed as it proves they didn't read the sticky in the first place.More people read the sticky, less shit in the generals, amirite?
>>3231191*where there would be drawings with common errors
>>3231076>They need to turn off the computer and grind for a few months.try a few years
>>3231009very good. technically sound.
Anyone have a collection of Vilppu's more finished drawings?
Boast em maggots.
>>3229148What kind of pens are you using?
>>3229148I want to say bristol board, but any ultra smooth hot press usually works. Fountain nibs get raped by the pile of cold press and it varies by the ink as to what absorbs well without smearing or bleeding.
>>3229152lol needs moar loomis
Bump of neverending fighting spirit.
Bumf. ohf.
For the life of me, when it comes to flat angles, whether it be attempting to draw a face, or anything, everything looks extremely flat, and this is especially true with cube-ish shapes. I see a ton of people able to do with little to no shading, which is what I am working towards right now along with shading, but I just can't seem to do it with certain angles. Is there any tips/tricks you guys can possibly offer?Even with 3/4 angles of the face, or flat, drawing the features just doesn't seem to happen. Everything looks flat as shit.
>>3230833its just a poorly copied symbol from loomis' book but its literally better than 90% of /ic/
>>3230833line weight, maybe? show overlapping?
Let's have another one of these
>>3225852i would put in animations in this but im too lazy/stupid to export it into gifs
>>3230490Once you pratice more on dynamic poses and compositions, getting out of your comfort zone. Also Ctrl+paint tutorials and Brushboost will help in the direction you're going.
>>3230598yes i agree with you, i struggle with very dull expressions and poses, been trying to get better at it with doing live gestures. I havent been doing much of these color paintings and thats why i feel very akward with color, i have watche a couple of ctrl+ paint videos but just watched them. I def will take some time and paint along with them. Thanks for the feedback

Should I join /ic/ ? I mean all the submitted works I saw there are bad.Maybe I should try ?https://medibang.com/contest/jumpuniversal/entry/
>>3204848Even If you get serialized what's next ?You will move in Japan to draw ? They will give you assistants ?Move it in a monthly magazine ?
>>3204766Do you realize you can set your work private? that why you see only shit work retard
I made 4 pages..I'm never going to finish this shit before the end of the month. I undestand why assisstants are needed. They probably have them not for their skills but to save time.

Cannot find a definitive/reliable source for learning the Reilly method of constructing the head. All videos on YouTube have slight variations and I don't want to get misinformed on this.
>>3230923get a life plz
the main variation im talking about is that some people start with a circle as the base, some use ovals, some use the loomis method(circle and then chopping off the sides) and i dont know which one is the best way for constructing the head.
>>3230883It's just breaking the face up into convenient rhythms in perspective that just happen to make planes instead of doing quarters and thirds and carving shit out like you're drawing a car. You draw a couple circles instead of fucking with balls and chistling out brow lines. Just draw a damn face.

Using the pen tool in Photoshop, its not saving the path when saving the files. I was fucking around with it, getting some line work done and actually liking it. Saved it and closed it down. Opened it back up today and it was fucking blank. Like didn't do shit. Thought that I accidently deleted the path before I saved it or something but I did some quick lines, saved the file closed and opened it up and again, fucking path was gone.Anyway around this? I like using the tool but I'd hate to have to do everything in one sitting.
>>3230341not really, stilization leads to exageration and expresiveness and those are more appealing(tho less impressive)than just photorealism
what settings that I should set in SAI so that the image I want to get printed has minimum colour value loss?>image usually looks washout after being printed
>>3230985you're gonna have to convert it to a .psd and tweak colors in cmyk mode in photoshop.
I have an old wacom tablet that I've lost the stylus for, is there any way to order a new stylus and is it worth doing? It's only in the last year that I've had both the technology (old laptop could barely run Paint Tool Sai) and motivation to draw more, but the Wacom always had issues with drivers and pressure sensitivity. Should I just look at something new?>just draw in real lifeI get this, but I really find digital tools to be more user-friendly and ergonomic, especially for doing multiple thumbnails and layering work.
Clip Studio Paint released an iOS app, it's free for the first 6 months. Go give it a shotI don't have any Apple devices so I can't tell you how good it is, but it seems like most people are pleased with it so far.
