I can pretty much draw the front, side and everything in-between. But i can't figure out how to construct the head in more extreme angles such as it looking up and down. Any solid way to construct the face in those angles?

It's not the Reilly Method. I do use some reilly abstractions but its basically my own method made from a hodgepodge of a bunch of different methods and artists.

Loomis head method is to help quickly construct a face from imagination-it merely demarcates where features can be placed on an average head, but certainly not every head. Reilly's is a more thorough observation of the planes of the face. While I'd never draw all that bullshit it's probably good to understand the logic behind it.

I save cool pictures of various subjects in a folder, artworks in another, and people/anatomy/clothing/armor along with art help and infographs in another
it's impossible to have a worthwhile "references" folder in general, that's way too big

So, I wonder if your state of mind affects your artwork. Every time I draw I can only think about what my peers will think of my garbage, even if nobody is ever going to see it.

I mean, I think about how they will react, or what they would say; I even imagine entire conversations about my drawings.

That includes edgy or lewd stuff.

I don't know. I think it affects my drawings, since I don't draw for myself anymore. I subconsciously want some form of approval from normie fuckers that know jackshit about art and will praise my garbage no matter what.

As a consequence, when my shit is "not enough" I simply throw it away.

I know nobody can certainly give a shit, and that my insecurities have no foundation. But still bothers me having to think about others all the time. It's an habit that's hard to break.

So, what do you think about when you draw? How can you focus on the process of artmaking instead of the results? Do you think your thoughts affect directly your drawings?

I usually think about how poor my understanding of perspective and directional light is. Or how what I'm drawing doesn't capture the intended impression at all. Or realising that I did a stupid again and skipped planning the image first.
>>
>>3229429
OP you need mindfullness meditation.

you cant do good when you feel bad by self mutilation toughts.

also with this you NGMI
>>
I think bout how shitty it will be and how could I learn certain skills, like for example how to make the texture of a stone .

But thats also because I rarely draw, I jsut spend time looking at good stuff from artstation and daydream.

I got many ideas but I cant get them on a piece of paper . I wonder what would be the full proof method to learn drawing with I can certainly get better. But there's no such thing. So now I'm stuck with drawabox. Stupid boxes ugh.

So msotly I think of my dreams as an artist . I want to become a concept artist . I have so many ideas and I cant get them done. It really is frustrating.

A CGI Alita probably wouldn't be an issue if the entire movie was mo-capped CGI animation instead of a bizarre fusion with live action. The uncanny valley could be forgiven if everybody looked weird as opposed to real people trying to act alongside a fucking doll

Any reason not to get a Huion instead of a Wacom?
I'm trying to work up the patience to look through reviews of all the different Huion tablets and compare them to some equivalent Wacom tablet, to see if there's a really good purchase there, but oof it's tedious.

Got the giano last week.
I was worried that it wouldn't work on Linux, but It worked straight out of the box without having to fiddle with drivers (I used a wacom bamboo before this).
The pressure sensitivity isn't that great (goes from ~10% to 100% too quickly), but that's probably because I'm still using the original wacom drivers.
I haven't tried to set the buttons to anything yet. Though when I accidentally push one of them, it crashes my comp.

Overall, it works fine for me. I could easily see myself using this tablet for the next decade if it holds up. Once you get over the initial embarrassment of feeling like a poorfag, it's fine.
>>
>>3228268
99% of us have a wacom tablet, so that anon most likely does have an eraser in his pen and doesn't use it because it's a bigger waste of time than clicking a hotkey
>>
>>3225029
Got a giano too but I kinda regret not getting the new 1060, the giano is too big and I could have bought books with the money.

Is there a specific computer spec for a pc to use wacom ?

Simply draw the next panel, post it in the thread and pass it on to the next anon. All skill levels are welcome and use whatever program you like. (I just used ms paint) Feel free to change the size of the panels as well, they're just there as placeholders. This isn't exactly "annual" but we did one last year and I had fun so I figured I'd try this year too.

I always thought these threads could be great if we treated them more like we used to do with regular collab threads. So people would be more selective about choosing which branch to continue and not just add random shit. Or the ones who do enjoy drawing random shit continue the random shit branch and the ones who want a bit more of an at least cohesive narrative do that branch without constantly being interrupted by dicks and JoJo references.
>>
>>3228832
I'm the guy from huion timeline and >>3228664,
I'd make another set of panels but the story is just lost. I'll try to reboot it, but no guarantees. I can easily fit in jesus. But the story was split in 3 by the last panel when he made the kid flee, the parents drown and the jesus busy killing santa.

How can someone paint something like this and expect $1,000?

Seriously--how can someone take a character(s) from another show, illustrate them, and then sell said illustration? Isn't that copyright infringement?

actually selling an individual painting would be fine, selling prints is what would get him in legal trouble

How so? I have bought art prints of characters before and I'm curious how that works, as I would like to make prints myself.
>>

It's a legal gray area. 99% don't care. It's free promotion of their IP and won't hurt them financially. Just avoid Disney and Nintendo.

On the DeviantArt? Maybe make a cartoon of the monkey, idk

As for the tumblr, the game does need a logo - try making the words “mirrored soul” in a cool font and making one of the “o”s look like a mirror with a red border that has 4 red spikes coming out, each one on opposite ends. Hope that makes sense.

I just bought this from Michaels a few days ago.

It's a little flimsy and it needs to be secured to a table to be really useful, but it's very comfortable to work on and for $30 it was a good buy.
>>
>>3230420
I have something like that too. Everyone who likes to draw should have one. Great and cheap way to not completely ruin your back.
>>
>>3230360
I bought a Velbon Ex-Macro and mounted a T-nut to a board so I can attach it to the quick release plate. It's better than any pochade box and weights much less.
>>
>>3230436
Hunting through estate shops for a standing drafting table is still worth it. My friend has one and the experience is unreal. You haven't experienced illustration until you've drawn standing barefoot on a shag rug covered in cigarette ash.
>>
>>3230436

I have a drafting table but I bought the easel because I'd rather have a smaller angled board on a flat surface than have the entire surface angled. More convenient for keeping tools handy.
