Clerics are OP edition.

Seriously. No other class even comes close.

>d8 hp
>can wear any armour
>can cast spells; automatically knows all spells
>gets bonus spells for high wisdom score
>healing spells
>hold person
>dispel magic
>summoning spells
>self buffed can be better at bashing skulls than a fighter
>levels faster than fighters too
>only negatives are somewhat limited weapon selection, and worse thac0 (offset by self buffs).

rule of thumb for me is to never install the big shitfest megamods. my biggest problem with them is that it just throws the pacing off. the plot at least in BG2 always makes me feel restless and that I should always move forward especially when the player loses their soul. so stopping to go on some other super quest when so much is at stake feels weird and out of character for me.
and that's just one problem for the ones I did find enjoyable. with many of them being awful it's best never to install them. same rule applies for npc mods.

STR isn't multiplied, just base damage. 37 seems low though.
>>
>>4451868
that explains it
+3 longsword, 2 pips, x5 multiplier, +7 str
1d8+5 x5 +7, and I keep rolling a 1 for some reason (RNG? fatigue?)

Is there any out there?

I'd like to use the Wii Classic controller to play on retro consoles.

>>
>>4447895
The classic controller is just a worse version of the SNES controller. Just get a SNES controller and adapters for whatever console you want to use it on.
>>
>>4449054
I see, I'll take a look at that.
>>
>>4449054
It looks hard, can you show me a guide on how to do that?

Is there anything that's open source?

>>4449013
Yeah, I think I'm going with this one, it also supports PS4 controllers.
>>
>>4449351
It's hard if you don't know the HW/SW but if you do it's very easy. There's a lot of open source software you could work off but the method of de/recoding is pretty unique. Mine will be open source when I get around to labeling it as that and uploading it. I specifically went with the DB25 connector to make it easy to work with. PCBs are DIP but I'll need to change to SMD to fit it all into a standard enclosure.
>>
>>4448705
If he was asking for the wii classic pro that'd be understandeable because it's way more comfortable with the wings. Normal and that SNES controller are too small. Even as a child I had an extra wide third party SNES controller because it was more comfortable.

Either one would be a better replacement for the shitty Genesis controller. And if he was talking about the thing hurting it's likely he meant the god awful original NES controller rather than the dogbone that was released with the toploader.

Is Hyper Dimension overhyped garbage?

I played it today for the first time and found it very stale.
>>
>>4449137
I think the main attraction of HD is the graphics. The spritework on that game is 32-bit tier. In fact, it looks better than any of the 32-bit DBZ games.
The gameplay is OK I think, not bad at all.
>>
>>4450429
>>4449137
The spritework is impeccable, true, but the gameplay is also very good. You have dodges, tons of opportunities for juggling and long combos, you even have counter moves (do a special immediately while you block, it'll come out with a huge frame advantage). You can also mix it up by sending your opponent into the air, where moves act differently - since the attack that hits people in the air is a special, you can do that as a counter to force the player into a plane where you may have advantage.

So it looks AND plays like a 32bit fighter.

Actually even with 144Hz it's not enough. It's still there just a whole less than not. Even with ULMB LCDs still aren't clear in motion as CRTs in highspeed testing and leave behind ghosting.

>>4441698
No one's trying to add moiring. That's a natural occurence with repeating patterns scaled and played through other repeating patterns.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAja2jp1VjE
>>
>>4450369
If even 144Hz LCD panels with strobing can't reach CRT motion clarity
Then what's even the point of shaders or playing any 2D game at all when all the effects get blurred as soon as the camera starts moving in any direction?

Holy fucking hell. I forgot about this, people were eating that up right away. The article was fun to read, too bad their "scale" was 100% bullshit that never actually existed in the first place.

This was the easiest temple in the game. It's only difficult if one tries to rush through it. Take your time and it's a breeze.

That's because MM is a direct sequel to OOT. It's implied that players who are playing MM have already went through OOT.

It always amazed me when folks shat on Twilight Princess for being "too easy" when Zelda hasn't been challenging since The Adventure of Link.
>>
>>4450794
get out
>>
>>4451016
There is a difference between difficult and challenging. Games like LttP or SM3 aren't difficult but they offered some challenges, there was some sort of resistance. There were multiple times as a kid I was stuck in LttP for days, especially figuring out the ice palace. It's not hard, but offers resistance. Newer games don't even offer any sort of resistance, as long as you press forward you will simply progress, everything else is just a formality.

>>4451302

I don't get why people don't like it, it's because of the "escort" thing with Ruto?

It's pretty mediocre by JRPG standards, you're not missing much
>>
>>4449196
It's a sub 20 hour RPG. How can you not bother to finish it?
>>
>>4449196
Don't bother if you don't feel like it. It's really not that good of a game.
>>
>>4449196
Play the Phantasy Star tetralogy or Skies of Arcadia if you want a good Sega RPG.
>>
>>4449196
It's alright for an RPG. The ending is probably the best part though. Not because the game is shit, but it leaves more questions than answers in the right way.

One of the best titles ever made in the videogame history has been killed in 2005, with a debatable remaster on the good old PSP. Now, in 2017, 12 years later, Sir Daniel Fortesque has been resurrected again, and raped for the last time. Why am i so critical about it? Well, simply because software houses nowadays don't understand simple concepts that all of you guys already know, so let's not sperg about nostalgicfaggotry... The main thing is this teaser trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMSI7nS2z-g seriously, what the fuck. This thing stinks of that very title for PSP within a mile for Zarok's penis sake. Why won't you people let this poor skeletal hero sleep in peace? That's my thought. Let's talk about it, shall we? All things Medievil related are accepted, especially this very thing.

(also, sorry for my bad english)

>Fortesque
Does this have anything to do with The Chaos Engine (Soldier of Fortune in the US)?
>>
>>4450973
I'm tired with these (g)old games reproposed with debatable graphics and non-existent gameplay... Seriously, the so called next-gen is 90% that... Ruining concepts and ideas that were successful before. For fuck's sake, create your own games you twats, it's too easy this way.
>>
>>4450979
Interesting.. who knows. I'll google it hopefully something pops up
>>
>>4450749
I will wait until I see more before passing judgment.
>>
>>4451406
That teaser already says a lot though. The voices, especially Daniel's one are clearly for a young target. The gothic-fantasy atmosphere will probably remain the same, but after seeing that zombie from Resurrection, i can bet that this will be another Nightmare before Christmas: The Videogame.

Looks like automotive paint. Probably either using those puffy stickers or vinyl decals in places.

They are and it's pretty easy.
You just remove the internals and spraypaint the shells separately. Sand lightly it lightly before you start, but give the pieces a good bath then:
2 coats of primer
2 coats of whatever color paint you want to go with
2 or 3 coats of clear coat.
It's a little tricky the first couple times you do it, you have to go pretty light on the paint in general, but after you get the hang of it, it's a breeze.

Anyone here own a PSX?

What's a good price for one that works completely fine. No read issues at all.

Do I have any chance of getting that dream?

How much of a nightmare are they? Do you trust yours to work/ use it as your goto system for related games?

Which version of Rygar is /vr/'s favorite?

>Arcade
>NES
>Master System
>Lynx
>PS2
>Wii
>>
>>4450397
Oh look, it's yet another "What does /vr/ think of __" thread.
Since PS2 and Wii are not considered Retro unless you're talking about PS1 and Retro Emulation, we're not going to discuss those. Not to mention, the PS2 and Wii games aren't even Rygar, they're something completely different with the title tossed on because "Wouldn't it be cool if..."
Moving on.
Arcade:

NES:

SMS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqIetJCNvoQ
Lynx:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbluBxgcXOE

Welp, out of the 4 that are board appropriate, here goes:
Obviously the best one out of the line-up is the original arcade release. It's got the best visuals, sound, and gameplay out of all 4.

The NES version is an ARPG though so it wins for me, otherwise I agree that the quality order is pretty obvious.
>>
>>4451769
Interesting.
No offense meant to the ARPG status of it, I'm sure it's interesting and fun (There's a copy of it over at my local gameshop for $5, so I might go pick it up) I think I prefer the classic play of the Arcade and SMS version to the changes made for the Lynx and NES version, but who knows, I might like the NES game more after I go pick it up.

Its like I said. It wouldn't be realistic considering the times. It is nice to wonder what could be but there is no real reason for this to ever happen since gaming technology only keeps progressing. A retro console would be going backwards no matter how nice it would be to see a new never before seen one. The only thing we will get will be re-releases at best like NES mini.
