Im not military but i run with a crew of 4 vets and one other civvy.We run drills every weekend at our local range that has a tactical section for members only, which is always empty.The drills are fun, we all get some exercise and its literally the most fun ive had in 5 years.We have free reign on a boxed in little 2 acre plot to do what we please. Tons of different types of targets.Its the only reason i go outside anymore aside from work.I wouldnt call it a "militia" but if shit goes down were getting together for sure.I fear not enough areas have decent ranges for this kind of shit.

What would you guys recommend for an every day covert vest in terms of protection level? IIIa seems like overkill and it’s hot where I live, but I don’t know if going to II or IIa is a risky move. Should I get one that’s stab resistant too? I’m not in any sort of job or position where I’d be more likely to be shot or stabbed, so I’m looking for something that would be an easy/convenient piece to wear daily. Also with the stab/slash protection levels it’s based on force applied, but I don’t really know what I could expect from a normal knife attack?
