>>327452>AfterEffects: Displacement mapsreally? is it this simple? i think i know how to used displacement maps but i still cant make out how do these
>>327458pretty sure the first pic is just an image with a displacement map that fades onto itselfsecondone seems like a particle generator with 2 dynamics keyframes that fades onto itself.this article on how hearthstone cards are animated is kind of relevant but doesn't really explain much>https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/18053404/hearthside-chat-golden-cards-with-jon-briggs-3-5-2015

This was my final project for my first semester of graphic design at community college. Got an A. What does /gd/ think?
>>327594Even as bait that's direThis can't be true, forgetting all the faggot text shit, that layout is to hideous to even get a C surely
You can't put a fucking shadow under the greentext.
>>327596>I think this may be the most obvious troll I've seen in the last decade>Not recognising ironic poor design as the greatest new graphic design movement to emerge in recent years.
>>327635EXACTLY. The whole point of the project was to make a satirical Onion Style tabloid. In that respect, I killed it.
>>327643ironically you usually get d's but you nailed this one
How do I do this?
>>327549But yes, i see that it isn't a normal shadow like i thought.
Better example of this done well is by a design studio called Sawdust. It's gorgeous.
>>327582literally the same thing as >>327505 and >>327520 but with a texture overlayed
>>327590Yeah, apart from it isn't. Use your eyes, it's more labour-intensive than that. That's why this one looks good, and the other looks like dated shit.
>>327497L 2 Motion blur
I'm seeking for an graphic element with similar structure and granulation as rose bud in pic rel - ie round and with clearly distinguished smaller sections, but not flower, nor plant in general.I'm not looking for anything specific and don't give a single fuck about symbolism, you could propose anything (even as pretensious as my example) that matches specification I mentioned above.
>>327636i think i saw what you are after on /wsr/
First time trying this stuff, thoughts?
>>327211not bad
>>327246>>327228>>327217it's shit.
shit
>>327211hard to get it wrong it's that easy, but you got it amazingly wrong(tell your carer to look up some tutorials for you)
i would say that its a start, but you should really just keep going and get good. nigger
/GD/-senpai, i-is it o-ok to mix d-drawings with photos? P-please, don't s-shout at me!
If it's well done.
So i have to go intern in a grafic design office and i'm looking to buy a new laptop but i don't know if i should get a Macbook pro or a windows laptop at the same price range.Last year i did another intern job and some people laughed at me because i used a pc instead of a Macbook like everybody else.Is it worth it to get a Macbook pro or should i get a windows laptop?
>>327536>a lot of software I need to use is Apple onlyif its not confidential or secret or anything, could you give examplesjust curious because where I'm from no one uses macs
>>327542I'm not the guy you're responding to but I swear by my mac programs. For my day-to-day design life I use:SketchPrinciple for MacEmber (by realmac software)Linotype Font Explorer XAlfred (with powerpack) HazelLittle IpsumScreenfloatDifferent needs for different folks, but I feel like I would plummet in productivity on a windows machine [primarily because Sketch isn't on Windows - we'll see if Studio by Invision is a gamechanger]
>>327527Unless you make well over $100,000 per year, I wouldn't question a professional's choice of tools, especially when they've used multiple options already and deemed their method to be the best one.
>>327545you talk like a gay
I use a desktop windows pc, and i love it and have no problems what so ever.but i think if youre going to do some decent graphics design, while sipping on a grande pumkin spice latte at starbuck, Mac i probably the best choice.
What are your views on the snapchat logo? Or how can this piece of crap draw so much attention?
>>324451It started from a couple of guys trying to get nudes and it blew up and they got fat rich
I hate it, but that may be purely put of bias. The yellow colour is annoying.
>>327271oh fug he's right
>>327303I generally have a bias against yellow that I'm working to get over; I never use it and rarely think it looks good...
>>327271hahah. Makes so much semiotic sense given its an app for the supernatural to converse. Also hotshot, what are the frays in the cloth at the bottom supposed to be? Get out of here with that bullshit.
Sup /gd/. What do y'all think of this logo I designed for ny band? I have no design experience, just made it on gimp
>>327572the shape in the middle doesn't make sense to me it looks like weapons or machetes or a fish or something, that type of font is usually for programming and doesn't read very well, the text looks a little bit edgy and what genre is it? why so many underlines below the letters? usually on logos there's only one or two. maybe start over but print it with 20% opacity and draw over it to make it more interesting and then just trace over it even if it takes loads of time it would look much nicer. also search for inspiration and/or references on pinterest.
>>327572children of the prawn
>>327581The shape is based off our first album cover which is based off a photo of the original members standing in a line putting their arms in different directions. The font is native alien which has the underlines. We are genre-bending, soul, funk, hip-hop, rock, psychedlic. Thanks for the suggestions!
Hey guys, i know this isnt place to ask but its the closest where i can ask you guys about my topic.I'm an architecture student and have some questions i wanna ask so if someone could help me i would really appreciate it
Depends on the question. Maybe I can help a fellow student out.
I studied architecture for four years and have been practicing interior design for five. What’s the question. Also /3/ dabbles in arch shit too
>>327465Work for an architecture firm in Georgia, whatchu need?
Hi Guys, I am hoping to make my first run of shirts but really hoping to nail the design the first go - I am hoping to have this piece on the back of a shirt but just hoping to get a rough idea on what people think (:Also thinking about adding some form of emblem to the front of the shirt but again not too sure just yet. Any feedback or criticism I'd gladly appreciate!Thank you
>>327503depending of the printing method some of the smaller details could be loss, i've heard that white shirts are very hard to sell and for the artwork i kinda like it but i would have made the skull character bigger and probably make the geometric patterns fit the theme of either ancient greece or religion, not sure what the character is referencing.here's a video of printing methods:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b88npNmqPVM
>>327509Disagree, it's plenty modern. Just maybe change the "SOMEDAY YOU WILL DIE" to something a bit less edgy like "I FELL IN LOVE WITH A HOE":
>>327508agreed, the lines might not print well>>327531I like this idea
>>327510>i've heard that white shirts are very hard to sellPretty much true. I didn't watch the video, but just to add to what I said here >>327508and also keep in mind that if you are printing white ink on black shirts, white ink is generally thick as hell and won't show properly without a low mesh screen. Typically a base white is done with ~110 mesh and colors can use up to 300. This is more of a problem if you are printing yourself and going to try to learn with white ink, but still a good general rule to remember how much white sucks to print on black/dark textiles compared to printing on white or lighter colors.
>>327503Is it just me, or does this look like it was made in AutoCAD?Regardless, I like it
Sup, /gd/.Can someone help me make this logo?
I’m lazy
>>327576no you're shitand you're doing requests on a non request board (a request that got done 100x better on /wsr/ already)get back in the fucking album cover thread where you belong
>>327578
>>327580Don't listen to that dude anon, you did what you could and that is what counts.
>>327585>you did what you could and that is what counts.
How to font? and How to get that effect?
>>327108how to font?if you don't have an idea on at least two ways to do that affect you shouldn't be here, go ask on /wsr/ for basic shit
It's just light blue text with an inner and outer blue glow, and the tracking set so the letters are spaced widely. They then used layer/opacity masks so it could look like hands are overlapping the letters.
fix that aliasing, fucking hell bro. my eyes are screaming
How was this vector graphic created? Cinema4D?https://colorpong.com/collections/sun
>>326599Thanks!
like look like star wars death star plans
Scattered brush, also default brush on dissolved mode works.
jesus fuck why is that pack 29$what is that
>>3265851. Program it yourself in Processing2. Get an old version of Illustrator and try out Scriptographer3. Fuck around with Pixeology Halftone pluginI don't think that was made with Phantasm but give it a try nonetheless
So I found this tablet XP-Pen Star06 and it meets my requirements but do you think this tablet is overall bad or overpriced ? Is there a better tablet for this price ?
>>327493some of those tend to have minor driver bugs depending of your os, the wacom intuos draw or wacom bamboo goes for about $70-$80 and tend to be recommended everywhere especially for beginners, if you want something less basic pick the wacom intuos pro small or medium
>>327493you dont need a fucking tablet oh my god
