Sadly for him, things like Macross (/m/ + music + UNDERSTANDING), Evangelion (/m/ + Mind Screw), and to some extent Code Geass (/m/ + Mass appeal to the average /a/ fan) have managed to do that instead. Don't get me wrong, I love his old shows (and Turn A) for all the emotion his characters express and respect that he barely does flashbacks or tries to do in your face exposition.

Yeah Steel Battalion's great, even if it can be a bit of a drag as a game.Outside of the old Battletech pods there's nothing closer to actually piloting a robot.The learning curve is rough as hell since it's literally more controls than a car, viewing the outside through a fugly SD 3:4 screenYou know those early times when Kouji is learning how to Mazinger and he's just mashing buttons until things happen? That's you. And the thing you're in moves like a pig.After a few deaths you'll probably make it out of the hanger before they kill you.And that's really great for what I want in a mecha simulation, but in a game I usually like a bit more fun.I'd probably go with Battle Assault 2. It's a competent enough 2d fighter, especially with the double handicap of Licensed 2d Fighting and PS1 2d Fighting. It's also really good for playing with groups because most people who would play a robot fight video game can manage 2d fighters, but there's a lot of different control formats for various other games.

Started watching 00, I'm about 15 episodes in, my feelings are mixed. So far Tieria is my favorite character even though he's painted as a dick. He is the only one that understands what it takes to accomplish their goals, he insists on kicking other pilots out of the organization when they do something retarded, but of course no one else wants to do the smart thing. Their support team is pretty cool, but the other pilots all kind of blow as people. Probably one of the worst cases of characters doing borderline retarded shit just to push the plot forward. At one point the main character tells a princess his true identity unprovoked even though the ENTIRE plan revolves around their identities staying hidden, they even say their identities are on the same classification level as Minovsky particle generation in a world that has yet to invent that shit yet!! Holy FUCKMecha design is solid 9/10, though I don't see why the main character's gundam has actual metal swords when it also has beam sabers, that's a lot of unnecessary weight to add for no reason, minor knit pick.Fight scenes are top notch. Animation is quite nice.Is it worth finishing? Thoughts?
