Say Mirage was secretly a huge Walküre fan and she'd love to sing, but because of her family legacy she chose a life of flying (which she enjoys but doesnt excel at). People would sometimes walk in on her singing or collecting merch and she'd be embarased by it. At some point during the series one of the Walküre singers dies or gets hurt (Makina or do something clever with Kaname getting offed together with Messer) and Mirage somehow has to fill the gap. Turns out she doesn't have super special fold waves or anything, but she sings well and completes Walküre. It gives her a sense of completion and it rounds her as a chracter. Might have been a better use of her as a character.

>>16087929Not at all. The story is designed in such a way that Hayate and Freya had to get together. It doesn't matter who the third character would have been, those two would have always ended up together. The third character would have always felt hollow. The fact that the series itself seemed to completely forget about Mirage in particular is only partly about her not having a chance in the triangle, but for a large part also because they apperantly didn't know what to do with her character outside of the "love story" (which itself was handled poorly). Mikumo would atleast have her story as the Star Singer to save her character, but the "love story" would have been handled equally bad as Mirage's.
The Asshimar.It has such a unique transformation, one of the best mecha designs in the history of anime.

Why do people seem to take issue with the Slice of Life moments of Kuromukuro? I think they are especially well done and help establish character development. They don't overload you with fights and whenever there is a fight scene its really well directed/choreographed. We get something new out of each fight scene.

While I did find most of the cast shallow, Ken was very interesting and the humans were likeable besides the camera guy and his friend. With the series having a cliffhanger ending I feel like we're getting a sequel in a couple of years. I liked the battles because they were entertaining to see, and nice to watch.

The part about fighting superhuman soldiers with beam rifles while you only have not!WW2 soldiers is pretty weird in the first place.It only gets weirder in VC2 where you fight a literal army of Artificial Valkyria with motherfucking trainees as your troops(You don't get the Valkyria character until after you fought the armies of V2 a good amount of times) and you win that shit.Fucking V2s man, so powerful but also so shit they got beaten by fucking trainees and presumably got slaughtered en masse outside the bakery on the campus.
