I recently read a post on Reddit (or was it Kotaku) talking about how the lootboxes in Battlefront II was a sign that EA didn't have much faith in people playing their game for a long time - they would probably abandon it after a few months, so why not make a quick cash grab.But, how long does people actually play multiplayer FPS such as Battlefront, CoD, and Battlefield before they move to another game anyway? If my memory serves me right, Halo II server did ran for almost a decade and always had players.
