Where do I get into the Might and Magic games?6, 7 or 8?
I played the fuck out of 6. Broke the game so bad gambling on the mystery gears. Farming the deserts with that meteor and starfall(?) Spells. And giving everyone a bow and spamming arrows.

What are your favourite arcade titles?
That one gun game at Dave and Busters, I think its called ghost squad, it got a port to the Wii and its pretty fun.
>>399631848Speaking of D&B, is that horse racing game arcade? I liked how you can raise horses and keep them saved on a little card thing. There was this one dude who was at the one near my house every weekend who had a laptop and excel sheet about his horses. I was pretty young and he gave me some pointers about how to raise/breed horses. He also have me one of his spares that was decent. Sucks I don't live around it anymore, I wonder if he's still there.
>>399632116Last D&B post, I remember this time I met this dude who looked like a nerd who transported in time from the 80s, he was a walking stereotype. I went to a Mario Bros. Cabinet and he asked "want to play doubles?" It was one of the most surreal moments of my life.

i finally started playing this to beat it. I started playing it when it was new and then stopped. Anyway what does v think of this game? It seems pretty "tight" in terms of design where it requires a certain level of execution and timing but at least so far I haven't seen anything brutal. Some of the music is pretty cool. The humor and world building doesn't do anything for me. I think they should have gone for a more serious tone or doubled down on wackiness.
>>399627484Literally crowdfunding's only saving grace. One of the better platformers to come out in the last few years. It's amazing how well Yacht Club is keeping up with all the stretch goals, but I wish the other campaigns added new locations instead of taking place in the same ones, because the base came is really really short.
I prefer Plague of Shadows, but they're both goodSpecter ruined the music and added in that doughnut steel OC, good gameplay though
>>399627484The original game was pretty nice but short. The DLC's make the game what it is, IMO. Having different campaigns makes the game a lot more entertaining since it feels like the game is completely fresh with each new character
>>399627484I want shovel knight to shovel his thick cock down my throat
>>399629107I wish they went more in a Demon's Crest type direction with Specter of Torment (i.e more spooky monsters n shiet and maybe some less linear levels)
>The following comes from an IGN interview with Eiji Aonuma. Aonuma was asked about why the hookshot wasn't included in Breath of the Wild.>“We did consider using [the hookshot] to climb, and then you’d parasail down, but initially when we had the hookshot [in previous Zelda games], it was always that you target something, and that was a game mechanic of itself. But that kind of defeated the purpose of what we wanted to accomplish in Breath of the Wild. With the hookshot, we always had to give it towards the end of the game, or else players could just go anywhere. But in this game, you could do that by climbing and parasailing."Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi also chimed in on the matter. >"In the early stages of development, we did actually do some tests with double hookshots and just being able to kind of go anywhere, like Spider-Man. Your mobility and your speed was just kind of incredible. We did do some tests like that.>Honestly, the hookshot kind of completely breaks the climbing mechanic. There's lots of fans in the staff, even at pretty high levels, who really like the hookshot and they kept bugging me about it. I eventually just had to say ‘No! Hookshot is gone. There will be no hookshot in this game. If we put the hookshot in this game, it’s not going to work.’ We were just going back to what we did before, and [Breath of the Wild] is all about doing new things.”I think it's settled that Aonuma just hates fun. Even his own staff were like "why the fuck is this not in the game?" Can we just fire his ass and put someone else on the series who loves games?
>>399604954Why is that a bad thing? SteamWorld Dig 2 you get a hookshot and that was like "Well, looks like I'll never have to climb." Then you got a fucking jetpack and could upgrade that to the point where you have essentially infinite fuel and you just fly. Each evolution of travel was fun (well, except for climbing). Also, there's certainly some spots where the "double hookshot" idea doesn't work in botw that well given there's nothing of equal height around some spots to climb and you'd still have to climb some areas anyways.Basically everyone agrees that hookshots are fun. If they want them to be an end game thing, people still would've loved that. Hell, they could've made it to where after you got the hookshot for beating Ganon. And yeah, if you beat it you have to continue from before you beat Ganon, but they could still simply modify your save upon beating it to just include the hookshot. It's not like you know, people are going to fucking fully 100% the game and all DLC before beating Ganon.

Nothing. Movie bombed

>>399630440Ideally, a port bundle of the PS2 games like J&D just got. Then leave it alone.
>>399631909Yeah, it's disappointing indeed. I'm not sure how much effort goes into optimizing games to run at 60FPS, but I do know that ACiT only took thirteen months to make in whole, and that ran smooth. Here's the statement as to why they dropped to 30FPS instead. https://kotaku.com/5393106/insomniac-dev-ratchet--clank-probably-our-last-60fps-game

Why do only Europeans play Rimworld?
>>399633205Why?
>>399632980I'd give each potential type of mental problem it's own bucket. Then I'd create things that put points in the buckets. The "normal" pawn would only have a stress bucket, and they would have tendencies on how they handle stress. Once their stress bucket is full their "tendency" would occur. So if they're a stress eater the fuller the bucket the more that they eat. If they're a workaholic the more stressed they are the faster and harder they would work but the quality that they produce would go down. If they're depressive the more stressed they become the less they work. Pawns could have multiple tendencies or none at all.If stress continues to climb it might culminate in what we understand as a "break," but these would be R A R E. They develop over MONTHS of stress. But the thing is, once they start happening they get worse and worse and worse. They don't release stress. So shit has to go really wrong over an extended period of time for this to start happening but once it does you're in trouble.Pawns would get stressed out by the usual moodlets, but also things like "not very much food in the stockpile" or "we only juuuust beat that last raid" or "we don't have very many turrets" - so you would have short-term stressors that represent all the little things that make life just that little bit worse every day, like an uncomfy bed, that give minor amounts of stress, and you have long-term stressors that contribute far more stress but only if you leave them unaddressed for quite a while. Then you'd have pawns with additional buckets (like pyromaniacs, who have a stress AND a pyromania bucket). A full stress bucket might contribute to the pyromania bucket, but the pyromania bucket might also be filled by people wearing red clothes, or cutting down trees, or eating meat, or other random fucking shit - to represent that these people are fucking mad. And so on for the other traits. It's a far better system, and not that much more complex.
