Soon I’ll share the unfinished ones, they will given at 6th January Thee Wise Men day, as used in Spain

O que dizer? what to say?

It was a long pause. The summer has passed, schools have begun for the granddaughters, the autumn has passed and here we are in winter.
But the marmalade was made in time and the jam too.

Ontem passei o dia a editar fotos.
Vim de lá a apetecer-me tentar a pintura!
Yesterday I spent the day editing photos. I’m very untrained in dealing with the computer. I will not promise to write much, but I’ll show you what I’ve done and what I’ve been doing. Right? Projects are many, but the hands are not as fast as the head.
We have already seen the exhibition of Amadeo de Souza Cardoso, painter who fascinates me.
Today we went to the Casa de (house of) Serralves to see the Mirós. I came from there to feel like painting! (my ignorance, of course) …But  I never get tired of seeing that beautiful House and its gardens. Wonderful walking.
I’ve already edited photos of small works that I did for Christmas.
I will be back soon, therefore. To whom still comes by here I wish a good week.

I found this photo on Pinterest, but can’t find the author. Does anyone know who is she or he?

bead work

bead work

Elephant – I made the form out of muslin, and it is beaded throughout in seed beads of all colors. I used poly filament otherwise known as fishing line  of 100m 1.8 Kg clear. 0.20mm in diameter.  3 beads at a time in back stitching in case of someone cutting the beads, they would not unravel.

The second photo is of a mini Persian carpet in a wooden frame to keep the canvas taut. It is done in 22 count canvas, with Paternayan yarn single strand. Needlepoint needles # 20-22 in a stabbing back stitch. When all embroidery completed, I leave 2.5cm around the design before trimming. The backing is done in a complimentary color by machine.

The last four photos are of the different types of cloth dolls I make, the first ones are
wearable pin dolls, I make all the form of all dolls in muslin, of skin color cotton fabrics
for faces and limbs. I use all kinds of nice materials for the costumes, yarns for hair,
silks, brocades, and other fabrics suitable for each and every different doll.

I appreciate all her work, but the beaded work is exquisite.
And now she says : I am taking a class from a teacher from England’s Royal School of Needlework online, it is an evening cap from the works of Shakespeare, the one in the photo is the finished one, still on the frame because I have to do the goldwork yet and the edge.

At last finished | Acabada finalmente

In April I was very busy, but away from the computer especially the blog. Between two very important anniversaries, 40 years and 13 years (daughter and granddaughter) finally (!), finished the towel for years embroidered, only missing drawn thread work.

There is no perfect at all, but I could do it without the needle be falling from my hands all the time. What, you can’t imagine, is so good.
Compared to the one I did for several years ago, I notice how much I am ambitious in the making of drawn thread work – the more complicated the better.

I really want to be more assiduous in the blog, but do not want to promise anything. I’m doing and learning several things at once.
Thank you for continuing to come by.
