Não tenho qualquer dúvida que comecei a bordar mais a sério (sou ainda muito básica) quando descobri o blogue da Mary Corbet, há quase 4 anos (já??!!). Os seus videos de pontos têm sido a minha principal fonte de aprendizagem. Mesmo não se sabendo inglês, é nesses videos que se aprende a bordar os diferentes pontos, dos mais básicos aos mais complexos.
Então, só tinha o livro da Marie Claire idées 250 Points de Broderie e muitas revistas Rakam**. Embora não bordasse, sempre gostei muito de ver como se fazia, e, muito esporadicamente, fazia umas pequenas incursões no mundo dos bordados.

No doubt I began embroidering more seriously (i’m still too basic) when I found Mary Corbet’s blog, almost 4 years ago (already??!!). Her stitch videos have been my main source of learning. Even not understanding English, only looking at those videos you learn how to embroider a lot of stitches from the basic to complex ones.
Those days I only had Marie Claire idées 250 Points de Broderie and many Rakam** magazines. Although Iwas not an embroiderer I always loved to look at the how to and by fits and starts I used to do little incursions in the embroidery world.

Quando descobri o blogue da Mary Corbet teria ido à falência, mesmo sem crise, se não tivesse alguma contenção!
Mary faz revisões de livros fantásticas e este foi o primeiro livro que comprei, seguindo o seu conselho como sendo ideal para principiantes. E é de facto. Tem-me sido muito útil. Sempre que quiserem comprar um livro sobre linhas e agulhas, histórico e/ou técnico, o melhor mesmo é ir lá ver que opinião tem a Mary!
Este livro, e os que se seguem em inglês, estão dispiníveis no Book Depository, que está com reduções nos preços, para além de não se pagarem os portes!
When I found Mary Corbet’s blog I would be ruined, even without crisis, if I hadn’t had restrained myself !
Mary does fantastic and neat book reviews and this was the first book I bought, following Mary’s advice for beginners. In fact it is. It has been pretty useful to me. Whenever you want to buy needlework books, historic and/or technical, the best you could do is reading Mary’s advice.
