After all, the main characters couldn't really evolve too much since it takes place before episode 8. That said, there is an interesting Diakko scene near the end that's pretty pottery.

Akko told Diana to not tell anyone, but that wasn't Akko what made Diana not tell anyone: Diana was simply curious about the Chamber of Time and thought she could solve it herself. Anyway, when Diana is apologizing to Urusla, Akko interrupts her and tells Ursula to not blame or punish Diana or anyone else because it was all her fault, which positively impresses Diana, who looks dumbfounded. She probably didn't expect Akko to be that kind of girl. I assume that it was kind of a reference to both episode 2 and the OVA in which Diana was unable to tell the truth to the teachers while Akko did it nonchalantly, even for Diana herself.

The game's main villain is Molly, a background witch. You know, the one who looks just like Sucy. She is a 200 year old "spirit" of sorts. It started a long time ago. When she first arrived to Luna Nova, she was a failure witch like Akko. She couldn't do anything right. Feeling sad, she discovered the Chamber of Time; she used its abilities to be able to actually do well at school, but then she realized that she ruined her school life in a different way: she ended up having no friends. Molly really wanted a perfect school life, so she tried to use the Chamber of Time in order to travel the beginning of her life in Luna Nova. However, she accidentally caused the clock to give her the curse of time and she became a monster who the teachers called a Cursed Witch. With no other choice, the teachers combined their powers to seal the Chamber of Time and Molly. Molly still remained in Luna Nova and was forced to repeat her school life over and over again through the years, and people forgot all about her when they graduated. Akko reminded Molly of herself, and Molly saw an opportunity to use her to break the seal. Molly wanted to use her CURSED WITCH powers to get revenge. So Molly trapped Akko and her team, and later also Amanda's team and Diana, into a timeloop. Without them the knowing, while the witches were trying various ways to break free from the loop, they were also undoing Molly's seals. Eventually, Diana realizes that there is no danger in Molly (any more) so they decide to release her and break the last seal. The whole thing was part of a plan from the teachers from 200 years ago; the only way to help Molly with her curse was time. If they hadn't sealed Molly, an evil time creature would have taken over her body. With 200 years behind them, Molly was safe and harmless. By the end of the game Molly is able to study as a normal student and graduate from Luna Nova normally. THE END.

In terms of their roles on the story, I'd probably say that only Akko and Diana, and later Ursula, have them. But mainly Akko, Diana is just trying her own stuff and Ursula arrives at the end to do exposition on Molly. Lotte does have a role early on since their first solution is to try to repair the Horologium Clock and Lotte uses her ability to summon its spirit to see what could be wrong with it. Sucy only makes obvious Sucy remarks and plays comedy relief role, Amanda's team is just along for the ride. The meat of the game is really the background witches, there is A LOT of them.

As a Diakko-only fag, I don't see anything wrong with Chariot/Akko. It's a ship that got solid canon to base on, on the same scale as Diakko and Chariox.
