What is it like to live in Malaysia? Considering either Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru. Mb Kota Kinabalu.Do people actually speak English like in Singapore or not really? Also, what is cost of living (esp housing, food, and medical insurance) like? And do I need a car to live there?I am expecting to spend like USD 1500-2000/mo.
>>1329350Enjoy negotiating every fucking day over every fucking thing you buy. Need a memory stick? Waste half an hour talking the price down to something sane. Drop it down a sewer and need to get another one the very next day? Enjoy going through the whole fucking negotiation process again. It's "cute" when you're a tourist and don't need to buy much. It gets really fucking annoying when you're trying to live there for a while.>>1333062>what's the drugs like there?Enjoy prison. They don't fuck around.

I went to Bulgaria for about a week with my friends last year. Only city we visited was Sofia, for the rest we mostly went hiking in the Rila and Stara Planina mountains. I'm thinking about going back for another week in February, this time on my own. Give me your recommendations for stuff that I should visit, experiences in the country, etc. I'm interested in the countryside/nature as well as cities and culture. You can also give suggestions for other countries (preferably in the same region) that are cool to visit for about a week.Pic related, it's in the Stara Planina mts nearby a hut where we couchsurfed.
I recommend Severozapadnala for the definite post-commie experience.
>>1334202I don't find that name on google, is it this?

Hellon anonsI'm going to NYC soon and wondered if you had suggestions for places to eat. I'm an adventurous eater (no bugs) so if you have any suggestions for places to check out I'd like to know
>>1332367Quick tip for you. NJT charges a huge surcharge if you buy a ticket to/from EWR.The 62 bus to the PATH is the way to go.
Going to new york for a few days and trying to find a place to sleep, any places on Manhattan i should ignore airbnb's at? First time in ny
>>1332367How much will that room cost you per night?
>>1332367If you have any doubts about distance, just book several one-nighters at different hotels in different locations.I literally did that when I was in Taipei, and that place is far smaller and far less complicated than NYC. My only motivation was that I was too lazy to backtrack.

>travelling aloneI'm tired of this meme to be desu. It's fucking pointless, unless you're travelling in your own country
>>1330657I disagree, traveling alone is such a liberating experience, at least for me. It is nice to have one or two companions to watch your back, but I tend to get tired of people after going everywhere with them for more than a couple days.
>>1330665I'm 22 too and planning to go to India :DI personally don't want to visit with my friends at all, i will absolutely break friendship with him lol
>>1331198>>1331206well shit I already booked my tickets. I just wanted a tropical place with nice weather and bali seemed to be balance well between nature and city- life not to mention cheap. And also it has a bunch of western tourists so I could atleast socialize with some fellow westerners.
I don't mind traveling with people as long as they are chill, biggest issue I have is when some dipshit gets a stick up their ass because the group didn't want to do X. Traveling with 1 or 3 other people is fine but when doing more it can easily become a shit show faster than you think
Travelling alone is great. You don't have to compromise on what to see and what to miss out on seeing. Also, if you get lonely:-Buy a local Sim Card with Data.-Post photos on FB/Twitter/whatever.-Video-Chat with family / friends.
Hi guys, next February i'm travelling to Frankfurt. I have a week to look around. Any advice?

>>1333380lol no they're not. I see Mexiqts every single day in New York
>>1333626I doubt those are Mexican, probably Colombian or Venezuelan or even Dominican. Mexicans tho, not that many in NYC.
>>1334212There are a fuckton of Mexicans in New York, you don't know what you're talking aboutAfter Ricans and Dominicans, Mexicans are the next biggest group. There are several NYC neighborhoods like Mott Haven, Soundview Sunset Park, Corona, Jackson Heights, Bushwick, Port Richmond, etc. where you see a ton of Mexicans.

Can we get a thread about travel gear? It's going to be my first time leaving the USA, and first time being away from home for an extended period of time as well and i wanna make sure i have the necessary supplies. I'm mainly curious as to what you guys consider essentials, what you can buy at the destination, what is better to bring from home, maybe things to avoid bringing?I would assume essentials would be>basic clothes / undies / socks for each day>hat / beanie depending on climate>hygenics (toothbrush, paste, hairbrush)>phone / charger + maybe a spare>backpack / bagWould love to hear your stories or pics of your loadouts, thanks!
Don't put your cash (talking bills not coins) in your front pocket if they are not the kind that are vertical in jeans. I'm talking the kind on shorts where they're at a 45° angle. Got pickpocketed $200 Euro in Greece because I literally had loose pockets. I now keep my cash in my socks. Also don't carry around a lot of cash.
>>1333811I usually wear tight pants (so tight that it's difficult to put my own hand in the pockets), or pants with zippered pockets.I do store cash in more than one wallet.
>>1330388Oh my god that one is nice
>>1330663>>1324487I have maybe 20 Liters. Enough clothes to hike up mountains without feeling cold, a small laptop, and the usual stuff from tooth brush to phone charger.
