I bought some sweet moulds last year but I ran out of time before I got to make proper wine gums like I'd been planning, so that's on my list again. I'm also trying to work out how to make my brownie recipe vegan without killing the consistency, but that's a work in progress. There's a watercolour painting I need to finish up which was an off-hand request after I jazzed up a birthday card for my great aunt too. For the rest of the family that's closer to home, my gift is making an overly complicated dinner. Part of your problem could be alcohol's freezing point (lower than water) which could potentially turn into goo. Homemade wine is very dry because you cannot back-sweeten it. It will also contain yeast where as store bought wine is ultra filtered down to .45 microns. I made fig pudding for my parents one year because my dad kept talking about it from the Harry Potter movies or something. I also mulled some wine for Christmas dinner. I used recipes from like AllRecipes or some shit; something from turbosprite Alton Brown, but I want to do make them again this year and use different recipes. Making a scale model for my wife's family of their multi generational home that was sold and drastically remodeled. I made my parents one a few years back. It's modeled in 3d and lasercut from the model faces.
