Just a bit of journal play today, with Gelatos, stencils, Fresco paint and PaperArtsy stamps.

Happy Easter Monday!

I have an arty card tutorial over on the That’s Crafty Blog today. I’ve been using some of their fabulous new That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils. That lovely Carabelle Studio fella made another appearance too!
Here’s a little peek. You can see my full project and tutorial HERE.

I decided to re-vamp some Easter cards I made back in 2014, by adding some orange stamped crosses and a sentiment. The background was brayered with some bright Pebeo paints, and the stamps are by All Night Media and Personal Impressions.
I can’t believe it’s nearly Easter, it’s too cold! Roll on Spring!

I’m linking my cards to The Mixed Media Monthly Inspiration Photo Challenge.

I’m still working through Kasia’s paint exercises for week 11 of the Wanderlust Class.
She showed us how to create a still life, using a colour mixed with white, black and green, thus creating light and dark shades. I used Golden heavy body ultramarine blue as my colour, mixing it with titanium white, mars black and permanent green light.
This is the actual vase…

Here’s my painting. I decided to leave out the detail, to make it easier. I painted my vase on a Gelli print background.

Kasia also showed us how to paint an impasto style apple, using a palette knife. I painted my apple on another Gelli print background, and used Golden naphthol red light, permanent green light, mars black, titanium white and some hansa yellow medium. I love the texture!

I’m linking up with Paint Party Friday.
Happy Friday!
