This week over on Kathy’s Blog, we are inspired by Tim’s 2009, Tag 7. Here’s my version, pretty similar to Tim’s, with a few differences in my embellishments. As usual, I’ve made a matching Christmas card.

A Little Bit Of Italy

Posted in Cards, Grungy Monday, Simon Says Stamp & Show on July 29, 2011 by craftytrog

We’re back from our travels in Italy! My lovely OH Graham organised our trip….We flew to Florence, had a night there, a lovely ‘Room with a View’, of the Cathedral. Then we took the train to La Spezia, part of the Italian Riviera, stayed there 7 nights, enjoying the National Park area of the Cinque Terre, 5 coastal villages, linked by rail & rugged cliff walks. We managed to do 3 of the 4 walks, as one of them was closed because of a landslide. The scenery was stunning, & the villages quaint & beautiful. After the walks, it was lovely to cool off with a swim in the sea, one of my favourite things to do. I love to swim out a bit, away from the crowds on the beach, then float on my back, looking at the scenery. Lunch was usually some bread, cheese & ham, from a little village shop, washed down with some yummy cheap Italian wine. We spent another night in Florence, before flying home yesterday.

I came home, inspired by all the lovely warm colours of the buildings, the blue sea & sky, & the lush green countryside, and so I’ve incorporated them into my card here. I also used some of Tim’s ticket stamps, & I stamped onto an adage ticket. I saved all our train tickets etc. to use on my artwork sometime, although I haven’t used any on this piece.

I’m entering my card for this week’s Grungy Monday Challenge, which is to use Rock Candy crackle &/or stickles. I used crackle on my distress stain background, & distress stickles on the ticket & flower. You can see Tim demonstrating these wonderful products here. And, as Simon Says Challenge is Anything Goes, I’m entering my card there too.

Grungy Monday meets Tim’s December Tags!

Posted in Cards, Grungy Monday, Tags, Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas on July 18, 2011 by craftytrog

I’m sorry if all this Christmas crafting is freaking you out, but as I won’t be around this weekend, I thought I’d get ahead with my Tim tag & card. I’ll try & link it up to Kathy’s Challenge on Saturday, from wherever I am, but if I don’t get a chance, maybe some kind soul could do it for me. Oops, nearly forgot to add, that this Saturday’s tag is Tim’s 2009, Day 6, which you can see HERE.

The reason I’m posting today, is that Linda’s Grungy Monday challenge just happens to be grungeboard/paper, which is the main ingredient for the car & tree on this tag & card.

So here are my two grungy creations! Thanks for looking!

Here’s my version of Tim’s 2009, Tag no. 5. Very similar, except I used a holly stamp by Artemio, the script is by The Artistic Stamper, I white embossed the ‘Believe’, & I added a brown organza bow. As usual, I have made a matching card.

Thanks for looking, & don’t forget to visit Kathy’s Blog, to see the other entries!

Grungy Stitches!

Posted in Grungy Monday, Simon Says Stamp & Show, Tags on July 14, 2011 by craftytrog

This week over at the Grungy Monday Challenge, we’re heading back to Tim’s 2007, Christmas tag 7, which features the rusted enamel background technique. I used tumbled glass distress ink as my base colour, then walnut stain over the top. I picked out a few of Tim’s sewing stamps, old & new, sewed on some buttons, stapled a tiny ribbon swatch, & added some micro beads. I threaded brown organza ribbon through the top, then heated it to get my favourite crinkled effect.

I’m also entering my tag for the Simon Says Challenge, which is Stitches.
