Tim’s December Tags

Posted in Cards, Tags, Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas on August 29, 2011 by craftytrog

This week, we are tackling Tim’s 2009, Day 11 Tag. I swapped pine needles for forest moss distress ink, in my background, & used a die-cut deer, stamped & embossed with Tim’s paisley background. I didn’t have the white rub ons, so I stamped & white embossed a greeting instead.

Here’s my tag & matching card.

Thanks for looking! xx

Much Too Cute!!!

Posted in Cards on August 28, 2011 by craftytrog

These were my thoughts when I opened a goody box, that I’d ordered last week! It was a gamble I know! £50 of products for only £15, too good to miss, but only a couple of items I would use. However, I did manage to make a card for my niece with some of it.

Here’s what I received, & if it’s to your taste, you live in the UK, & you’d like to give it a good home, just leave me a comment & it’s yours  🙂

Tick Tock

It’s ‘TIME’ …..(lol…that was me trying to have a little play on words with my title! Time, tick tock, get it?!)….. for my final piece of August artwork on The Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog, so here’s my little peek. You can see the full piece HERE.

Sunday Stampers – Houses

Posted in Cards, Sunday Stampers on August 21, 2011 by craftytrog

Hels has challenged us to use a house on our artwork for this week’s Sunday Stampers, so I rustled up this quick card. The background is made, using masks & perfect pearl mists. Stamps are by Darkroom Door. The houses are stamped onto book pages, then cut out & coloured with distress inks. I painted the tree with lettuce dabber, then glued it to my card, to add a bit of dimension.

Thanks for looking x

Tim’s Christmas Tags

Posted in Cards, Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas on August 20, 2011 by craftytrog

This week it’s the turn of Tim’s 2009, day 10 tag. Not my favourite by a long shot, so, as I’d already made this tag back in 2009, & I didn’t want to waste more grunge alphabet, I just made a card this week. Here’s where you can see my tag from 2009. I decided to just use 3 colours for my card. I used royal purple, olive green & ultramarine stazon, instead of the alcohol inks.

I’m off to wash ink & black paint off my hands now! Don’t forget to check out Kathy’s blog, to see her tag, & Donna’s.

The Stampsmith Challenge 20 – A Sketch

Posted in Cards, Just for fun challenge, Stampsmith Challenge on August 19, 2011 by craftytrog

This week on The Stampsmith Challenge, Valerie has asked us to use this sketch…

I chose ‘The Kiss’ as my focal image, then matted it onto silver mirri card, then onto black card. For the circle element, I cut a Tim Holtz Weathered Clock out of greyboard. I coloured it using pitch black distress stains. I embossed the centre part of the clock, then coloured it with white distress stain. The left vertical panel is a strip of broderie anglaise, & the top horizontal panel is corrugated card, painted with silver acrylic. I added silver brads & crystals to some white flowers, then glued them around the clock. The background paper is by Paper Pizazz, & I used an 8×8 inch white card blank.

I’m also entering my card for the Just For Fun Challenge, which is Black, White & Silver.

Friends

The current Stampotique Designers Challenge is to alter a page in a book. I actually altered a page ‘from’ a book, so I hope this counts.

I glued strips of book page to some card, then when it was dry, I schmooshed it through some distress stains on my craft sheet. I used picket fence, dusty concord, stormy sky & broken china.

I stamped Angelboy onto bookpage, then cut him out. I stamped the edges of his wings on the bottom of my background, a little bit of Tim Holtz foliage at the top, then Smile on the left, & Marci on the right. I attached Angelboy in the centre, then used my dymo to create the quote. I inked the words with purple twilight alcohol ink, to tie them in with the background.
