Here is the card I’ve made for my niece. As you can see, her name is Emma and she will be 14! I used Basic Grey papers, which I inked with vintage photo distress ink, chipboard letters and numbers that were painted pink then glittered with crystal stickles. Hope she likes it – I got approval from her cousin, my DD Beth! :0)

50th Birthday Card
Posted in Uncategorized on November 28, 2008 by craftytrogMy boss Jay will be 50 on sunday, so I made him this very subtle card. Do you think anyone will guess his age?! The black frame is chipboard that I triple-embossed in black, then I stamped the phrase into it with silver encore ink. I used silver paint dabber on the chipboard ’50’ and ‘J’. He plays pool at a local pub when he has time, so I used chipboard circles and peel-off numbers to make a couple of pool balls, then peel-off letters to finish off his name.I can’t remember where I got the numbers background from, but I think it looks great. :0)
Gothic Arch Workshop
Posted in Altered Art on November 24, 2008 by craftytrogYesterday, I went with my friend Jackie to a workshop run by Leandra Franich of PaperArtsy and Linda Brown of LB Crafts. The project was a large wooden gothic arch, and you were given the choice to make Christmas or non-Christmas. Jackie and I both chose to make a Christmas arch, and here is my one:-
We used many different techniques, including fabric stamping, quilting and beading, metal embossing, and UTEE beads. It was a brilliant day, although I don’t think anyone finished their arches! I finished mine today at home! The written instructions were very clear, so thank you to Linda and Leandra. I also managed to meet up with Vonny, a friend I have met through the SSP Guild forum, and Dan, whose excellent blog is here!
Presents for Jackie!
Posted in Altered Art on November 24, 2008 by craftytrogHere are all the presents that I made for my crafty friend Jackie.
This is an altered board book. I used K & Co papers, glossy images by Crafty Individuals, and phrase stamps by Stamp Attack.
I also decorated a canvas, and altered a jar lid and a slide mount, and …..
a little box!
If you think that’s a lot of presents, you should see what Jackie gave to me when it was my birthday!
Jackie’s Birthday Card
Posted in Uncategorized on November 22, 2008 by craftytrogI got to know Jackie last year through swapping ATCs with The Craft Stamper magazine. We swapped ATCs for a while, then finally met up at The South Stamp Show in September 2007. Since then, we’ve continued to swap ATCs and altered art, and have met up at shows and craft shop demonstrations. Tomorrow we are both attending The Artsy Crafts workshop run by Leandra Franich and Linda Brown, two of our favourite designers, and we can’t wait! It will be the first time we have crafted together too, which will be fun. Last weekend was Jackie’s birthday, and below is the card that I sent her. I have been making a few little altered items for Jackie, which I will be giving her tomorrow, so they will be blogged once she has received them. Watch this space!
Did I mention that we are both big fans of Crafty Individuals too, and anything vintage! Jackie also loves Paris and French themes.
Uk Art Raffle – Circles
Posted in Uncategorized on November 21, 2008 by craftytrogHere’s my first entry for the UK Art Raffle. The theme is circles, so I decided to alter a small jar lid, I think it was from a jar of pizza sauce. I lined the lid with Crafty Individuals Christmas paper, cut out some angels and stuck them down. Then I added various other stamped and cut out words and a star, and added some buttons and gems. I covered this with a layer of glossy accents, and when this was dry, I finished off with some glitter glue. I’m going to add a pin back, so it can be worn as a brooch.
Xmas Cards the sequel!
Posted in Uncategorized on November 20, 2008 by craftytrogHere are three more Christmas cards, made with stamps from a plate by The Artistic Stamper, and Anna Griffin papers. I wonder if I have made enough yet?! Just had a count up, and I’m up to 63!
