I recant- David Chalmers apparently defines his understanding as dualist. But I feel like that’s just so he can maintain a degree of credibility with the academic cog sci squad and that “naturalistic dualistic panpsychism” is just nondualism by anothers name...

Long story short by way of poll should I email DChalms this illustration to be sure he’s aware of it

he has the purist dualism possible = there 1. is the fact that I am concious, and 2. there seems to be other contingencies

But really I think it depends on what cycles you're using. Those things happened rather quickly for me once I started going out beyond my 'comfort zone' for significant periods of time.

I did not intend to anywhere imply that it was. You asked what the gain was...at first I stated that perhaps it's not necessary for there to be one. Then I reasoned that there was a gain, after all. Whether or not that gain aligns with the aims of pranayama is a moot point, in the context in which I conducted these experiments.

What I mean is, much like the separate trances of any drug could be classified differently, the so-called "plateaus" that accompany DXM seem to deserve a separate classification, but also I believe DXM in general could be classed alongside things like ketamine and PCP. I would bet on Samuel Aiwaz Jacobs ( Samuel bar Aiwaz bie Yackou de Sherabad. )

Crowley referred to Jacobs as a “Brother.” but he had no official link to the OTO or AA in a sense that he would have gone through any formal grades or that sort.

Crowley wrote to Mr. Jacobs and asked him for the Hebrew spelling of Aiwaz which added up "93" עיוז, Crowley had spelled it before adding up to "78"
>>
>>20011067
I kind of suspected that might be the case, but didn't realize Jacobs accepted Liber L. Thank you.
>>
>>20011077
>To those of you who will begin, as I did, at an early age to be interested in creative effort, I have a word or two to say: Follow no one. Only you can lead yourself. Be open-minded and ready to reject every extraneous influence. Use your own. Talk is cheap; let others talk. Pay no attention to them or to me. Shun them and me with your self-discipline. Value your freedom from the shackles of the strait jacket. A rose is a rose regardless of its position on the bush. Approach your line of activity as an individual. Be independent. There is but one law to obey, the law of freedom: and obedience to that law is liberty.
-Samuel Aiwaz Jacobs (1951)

He was familiar with Crowley´s work, most probably Book of the Law also.

And then again, BOTL´s central message after all is Do What Thou Wilt or Liberty.

The above quote by Jacobs and his individual outlook is pretty much spot on what Thelema is about from a moral standpoint. You don´t have to join any orders to practice Thelema. The Law is for All.
>>
Is there truly balance and order in the universe? If so how do you explain all the innocent victims in wars etc?
>>
>>20011088
BOTL?
>>
>>20011121
Book of the Law.

Thelema means will in greek.
Do What Thou Wilt means the Liberty to exercise that will, the main message of the book.

Samuel Aiwaz Jacobs wrote extensively on (personal) liberty and thus practiced (living) Thelema and could be said to have "accepted the Law"
>>
>>20011136
Oh I see. I'm so used to seeing "Liber L" or "Liber AL" ya threw me a loop.

Indeed he did. I also just found out how involved he was with cumming's typesetting. Interesting bit of trivia

One thing I think is hilarious about chads is, they always have to reassure themselves that they are chads. Insecure little bitch boys.

If you are truly a chad, you don't call yourself one. People just like you, instead of the chad who calls himself chad, who has a string of girls who would murder him if it wasn't for the law.
>>
>>20011067
>Crowley wrote to Mr. Jacobs and asked him for the Hebrew spelling of Aiwaz which added up "93" עיוז, Crowley had spelled it before adding up to "78"

According to Israel Regardie, a certain "Qabalist of tremendous knowledge" would have discovered a Hebrew spelling that enumerates to 418 were he aware that Tav is pronounced /s/ when without a dagesh:

(tav)400 + (aleph)1 + (waw)6 + (yod)10 + (aleph)1 = 418
>>
>>20011191
I thought the "s" pronunciation of Tav was an Ashkenazic thing? Then again, I'm no Hebrew scholar. That's just how it was explained to me when I asked someone why Regardie's books all seem to transliterate Tav as "S"
>>
What does /omg/ think about Regardie's guess that Crowely's 5=6 motto was some variation of "I am the Heart of Jesus Girt About with the Swift Serpent" in Latin? Has any more info regarding this mmatter come out?

Ha. I'm just wondering, I stored a small amount of diethyl ether in one of those orange plastic pill bottles for mystical experimentation, sealed the lid with plastic wrap and stashed it for a bit. After a couple weeks, the ether seems to have permeated through the plastic, creating an oily substance all over the outside. About 2/3 of the original liquid has dissipated, and when I poured it out, it appears to have taken on a yellow-orange color, presumably from the bottle. Also it smelled funky. It still had its intoxicating properties, but they seemed to have been reduced.

SO...I'm wondering what could have caused this. I'm asking here because of my original intended use of the ether. Thanks.

You just inhaled melted plastic compounds in ether.
>>
>>20011660

It is as well that Atlantis should remain a mystery.

It is right that man, looking at the ocean, should worry thinking of a distant and inscrutable realm swallowed up in one day and one night by the sea and fire. The proud dream of an eternity shattered by nature's reawakening.

Civilisations are born, grow and finally die. Let us prepare ourselves for this.

I would still prefer the rendition given by Jacobs Aiwaz who made career of letters, their values and phonetics
>Jacobs, living absorbed in letters from his youth (see above), may have had a strong interest in ʿelm al-ḥoruf, that is, the science of interpreting letters and their numerical values, whether or not he also studied the practice, derived from it, of magic “based on the occult properties of the letters of the alphabet and of the divine and angelic names which they form” (Fahd, p. 595; see also Krotkoff).

This is giving me some big thinks.
Anyone who has kept up with my explorations of Zoroastrianism has seen me post this guy. He's got a couple of stellar lectures. This is....weird af, as he actively argues for new genetic material into the dying faith of Zoroastrianism.

So sit back, pop a xanax, and TRY to pry underneath ol' boy's seventh grade vocabulary, and TRY to follow along with the guy's semantic INTENT, more than the poorly expressed content. If it helps, exchange Racism with Nationalism. I think I would cautiously agree that what we're seeing in the industrialized racist/nationalism movements is a society that's been cripplingly internalized and infantilized and is only just now starting to become aware of Community with the big C.

There's something big here in the comments on tribalism; we live in a vacuous and vapid sterile culture, for the most part.

I dunno, I may have a small update here soon.

>>20013203
This guy is super wrong about Japanese society wanting to move from racial consciousness to humanism lmao. The post right understanding of racial consciousness as a more naturalistic embodiment of collectivization is pure fascism and I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand racial consciousness has in cultures throughout the world enabled the loftiest and in my opinion the best goal of capital F Fascism which is the seeding and development of greatness in the individual through collective development of being.
On the other hand, where there is tribalism, there is hegemony. This guy knows hes speaking outside of the Overton window, which is probably why he chose the meme title and the racism he is talking about is not what you are taught racism is in school but the naturalistic racial consciousness that is quietly celebrated today even in our "melting pot" society. Thus, like the many shitty neo marxist youtubers and thousands of jibbering idiots on leftbook, this guys ideals are hard to take seriously because the ghost of our neo liberal pseudo consensus haunts his ideals. It is easy to be a provocative idealist when your ideals lie on the wrong side of an obviously false consensus, what is hard is to translate those ideals into the Will to Power. Perhaps on an individual level the embrace of Zoroastrian racial identity would re awaken what has been forgotten amongst all the indo-european peoples. But a Pan Indo European cultural movement would never happen while the grey beards have human culture by the balls, and how do you fight them without doing the kinds of things that earn you the scarlet letter of "extremist"

maybe I'm just projecting my own hopelessness, I would honestly be enthused if a Zoroastrian re awakening occurred on a large scale

In my view the whole circus is supposedly self-balanced on a basic level and the whole thing only cares that life in some way (any way) continues. It doesn't care about any single specific asshole in particular;not you, not me; only that there are assholes, bigger or smaller. Anything else are self-serving dellusions from some specific (*AHEM*, you get it), trying to protect(or rather, project) his piece of divinity, his piece of the broken mirror that is his own dimensionality.

Will the *holes eventually stop grinding the pieces to a fine grain like stubborn children? Will they finally fit it together ? In what order and what pieces will fit with each other? It's all a big elaborate carrot-on-a-stick and whe are being conned by the inevitable trickle down of entropy? Take a long shot like every single philosopher.

If I'm not blabbering too much i'd say the ego is not a bad thing, it's a expression of divinity in the localized-limited vessel that is the human bean. Whe're all in a sense "divine", as in flanderised-mockery-discount-preview expressions of divinity. That's why evil exists, because whe're constantly trying to unravel this inside divine but whe're only a shade ourselves, we are the thing but whe arent the THING. So we make stuff to pleasure ourselves and on a fundamental level it's good, but it might not be GOOD. I'd say to truly have respect for yourself and others, to creation itself, is to bring your own good closer to this greater good.

Aaand...This is why the clown is funny. Wtf this all means in actual down-to-dirt practice is the body of the joke and a single person may not possibly know.

'Night, you homos

You mean it in the good sense or bad? It was a wonderful year for me, a bit disappointed because there was a lot more stuff I could do, but still good enough..

>REAL MAGICIANS DON'T NEED ACTUAL RESULTS
>I DO THE GREATER WORK WHICH MEANS I'M SMART ABOUT STUFF THAT DOESN'T MATTER
>I DON'T HAVE TO PROVE MAGIC LOL BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON YOU RIGHT

Why is this thread still around.
Wasn't thoth and all those other guys proven to be basement dwelling super virgins?
Didn't one have a furry girlfriend he was always trying to defend?

God this board is pathetic.

The bad. For over a year I haven't known why any of the things that have happened to me have happened to me, both in a moral sense and a causal sense. I'm confused, upset, and in a bad way.

Tempting, but simple allegory covers all the bases that want covering.

Sloane 3191 is Dee's grimoire. The earliest MS are not necessarily the most informative. The manuscripts constituting AT&F are not easy going, but parts are essential.

Then there's the Heptarchia, Propaedeumata Aphoristica, and the Monas Hieroglyphica.

And you will need Agrippa, Trithemius, and the scholarship surrounding the Juratus trad.
