A little late to watch but I guess that was an emotional episode. Its a bit overwrought though, I've never been one to buy into Love Live's brand of drama. But yeah, not much gay this episode, just lots of angst. I did like the idea that they ultimately failed and they will only now do Love Live as a last hurrah. Actually this would have been a far better story for Aqours instead of the "Save the School" retread it spent for most of the series. So just to speculate, if they are merging with another school, does that mean they get the wear those black uniforms from the Dengeki G articles? Cause that would be great.

Too bad for Saint Snow, who jobbed HARD and pretty much didn't live up the their label as Aqours' rivals.This officially means that You is now the least developed member of Aqours. I'm still surprised e that she is still very popular. I really hope we get a You episode soon.
The only thing it bothered me this episode was the "how it feels to have older sisters?" chat between Chika and You. I mean, I get they wanted to add a moment with just the two of them, but You (and probably Riko too) is probably the person who knows how Chika feels about it. The new group launched the same year the first group was warping up it's anime business, but Aqours was launched into an already established franchise and got an anime within a year. Where Aqours is now in terms of the anime side of things, μ's was already over the hill so to speak. I doubt Aqours has even reached that point yet or will be ending within the next two years. Also as we've seen a lot of other things are being done differently this time around as well. New girls have been introduced that aren't intended to be a new generation and the All Stars mobage is an even bigger game changer. Between PDP and All Stars I'm honestly not sure where the franchise is going. It really does make you wonder where they're going to take Aqours over the next three years since the second season is almost over already. I'd be really surprised if they started wrapping up Aqours within the next two year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they ran concurrently with a new generation longer than μ's did with Aqours now that All Stars is coming out.
