Use nyaa.pantsu.cat and nyaa.si, those are the major public trackers. For private trackers check animetorrent.me, bakabt.me, animebytes.es every once in a while when they open the applications. animetorrents opens regularly, bakabt recently got private but they've said that they are gonna open apps and animebytes opens once in a blue moon but I've heard that they will open them very soon. As for getting into anime start with the standard stuff like Jojo's Bizzare Adventures, Death Note, One Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Trigun etc... Just check the synopsis on myanimelist and pick what you like based on that. Also I'm gonna rec some of my favorite comedy stuff: Cromartie high school, Detroit Metal City, Sexy Commando Gaiden, Excel Saga, Inferno Cop.For more recs just ask on >>>/wsr/ they are pretty helpful for stuff like this. Also if you don't like a certain anime don't be afraid to drop it.
