Some image MD5 filters for 4chan-X (guro, frogs, goldface and other garbage): https://ghostbin.com/paste/kwmgn

Resources
https://regexone.com/
http://reg-exp.com/ Not everything is supported, but it's a good tool.
http://www.regular-expressions.info/ This one has pretty in depth explanations.

You can apparently filter image hashes via 4chan-X. You can't filter your own posts if your browser has cookies enabled. Use forward slashes to start using regular expression, and put an 'i' at the end to ignore capitalization. '\b' is a word anchor, so you can do something like /\bhi\b/ to only filter the word hi but not high.

Post screenshots of your user style and or show us some neat tricks.

this fairly effectively deals with the furry spammer, although I imagine there are some redundant emoji in there: https://ghostbin.com/paste/r93xd
i've also found that filtering mentions of b, pol and v clears up most of the "meta" threads that have started showing up here.

Is there a tripcode cracker script that still works? One with a dictionary.
I think the thing to do now is make custom tripcodes so it won't be of much use but it is still amusing to find someone's trip.
>>
>>1671799
any tripcode generator should be able to function as a cracker. I use merikens tripcode engine and it can handle 10 character hashes. regardless of what you use it's going to take forever to crack someone's trip. I found this through a quick google search, although i'm not sure how much help it will be. https://github.com/crypt3lx2k/Tripcode-Dictionary-Tools
I also have a decent list of those disfigured wojaks for anyone interested. https://ghostbin.com/paste/sqor8

how do you reapply the spooky css

>>

you can either do it inside 4chanX by pasting the stylesheet into settings > advanced > custom CSS, or by downloading an extension like stylish.
>>
So I know it is possible to make CSS changes to the catalog simply using the Custom CSS option in the Settings. I know it is possible with a Stylish/Stylus script or 4chan X, but I'd prefer to not use anything third-party if I don't have to.

http://hayne.net/MacDev/Notes/unixFAQ.html#endOfLine
>However, there are three different conventions that are commonly used for indicating ends of lines in text files. They are usually known as the "Unix", the "Macintosh", and the "Windows" end-of-line characters.

>The "Unix" end-of-line character is often known as "line feed" or "newline" and indicated as "\n". It is the character whose ASCII code is 10 in decimal (0x0a in hexadecimal).

>The "Macintosh" end-of-line character is often known as "carriage return" and indicated as "\r". It is the character whose ASCII code is 13 in decimal (0x0d in hexadecimal).
Since Macintosh computers now use OS X, which is a version of Unix, it is more precise to refer to this as the "traditional Macintosh" end-of-line character.

>The "Windows" end-of-line indicator is actually two characters, not one. It is often referred to as "carriage return, line feed" and indicated as "\r\n". It is thus the sequence of two characters whose ASCII codes are 13 and 10 in decimal (0x0d and 0x0a in hexadecimal). This is also known as the "DOS" end-of-line indicator.

I have to do some 3D canvas userscripts some time. Probably just some interactive graphics, but it seems neato.
>>
>>1688335
>>1688400
I've been using Spooky CSS too and I run into the same problem. I think I've finally figured out the problem. From Inspecting the highlighted posts, it seems like the Default 4chan styles (YotsuB, Futaba, etc) are overwriting just that portion, because the Style in the CSS is set to "none". If you change the 4chan style, you'll get the relevant highlighting from each style (as in, the highlight colors will change).

I know absolutely nothing about CSS, so I'm not sure how to fix or force a certain style. I also don't have 4chanX or any additional scripts.

>>1693414

>>
>>1694174
If >>1688335 is the only problem, you should be able to fix it without installing anything extra by figuring out the rule you need to override and adding a rule with higher specificity or !important. Having an ad/content blocker is a good idea, though.
>>
>>1695037
!important did the trick. Its missing from .reply.highlight with the color #331433. Most of the other colors have it, but I guess it was either missed or not needed during Halloween proper.

In regular expressions, the "*" means zero or more of the proceeding character. So that would match
Ame
Anme
Annme
Annnme
etc.
You want
/An\*me/i

/phone((post)?(ing)?)/i;

or just
/phone(post)?(ing)?/i;
which can be made quicker to evaluate by making the groups noncapturing:
/phone(?:post)?(?:ing)?/i;
but again it's just the same effect as
/phone/i;

If you want to match only whole words, it's:
/\bphone(?:post)?(?:ing)?\b/i;
>>
>>1701119

/voted?/ matches vote and voted, so there's no need for the question mark, unless you were going to use a word boundary or add more after the mark.

I remember in a different, older version of 4chanX years ago, if you kept stubs on for hidden posts, you could hover over the stub, and it would tell you which filter caused it to be hidden. Is there a way to reproduce this? I'm still learning regex, and this would be great for troubleshooting.

I think a better idea would be just to add Kita to some key prefix the way you would with international keys. This could be even easier if you were to use an extension like vimperator that lets you edit posts in the buffer of your favorite text editor. Same with yen posting, actually.

It's originally from /r9k/ where it's more true than other boards. Most boards are fine if browsed in moderation (otherwise you end up reading everything, including the garbage, and it sucks).
>>
>>1723223
Not really, besides many of them don't filter only words. Also, while I do know how to use them I don't currently have any filters set to hide posts. Thanks for reminding me to add a towerposter filter to the OP though.
/(?:>>\d+\n){5}/

>>1723279
There's nothing wrong with opening and reading 50+ threads for a board and stopping partway through if they don't interest you. Besides it's fairly easy to find topics you like without sifting through as much garbage, as there is always garbage present, via using the "Auto" checkmark, coloring posts, pinning posts (alt+click) or even leaving filters empty to take advantage of that blue exclamation mark. There's more to filters than just hiding posts you don't like.
>>
>>1723478
How do you know it's just one guy? Besides posts like his already got reply links earlier in the thread.

I've got 2 questions.
1. How do you set filters to be board specific? I cant seem to get it to work.
Second, is there a way to check for duplicates among MD5 hashes? My list is getting pretty extensive, but it may be getting a bit too long.
>>
>>1730983
boards:(board); makes the filter only work on specific boards e.g. /test/;boards:a,jp; would filter the word "test" on /a/ and /jp/
exclude:(board); makes the filter apply to all boards except the ones listed e.g. /test/;exclude:toy,po; would filter the word "test" on all boards except /toy/ and /po/

as far as I know no text editor natively supports checking for duplicates. the easiest way i've found to remove duplicates is with a plugin for notepad++ called textFX. after installing simply select the text you want to sort for duplicates, go to textFX > textFX tools, select "+ sort outputs only UNIQUE (at column) lines" and then press "sort lines case sensitive (at column)".
>>
>>1730983
I use bash to remove duplicates. Just use sort and uniq.
sort filename.txt | uniq > newfilename.txt
This removes all duplicates.

>>
>>1730983
the other guy explained it for 4chanx, on the chance that you're using native you put the board under the "boards" column without slashes and separated by spaces

>>1733255
Here's a regex for duplicates, it's not formatted for 4chan's engine. You might be able to write a script, in python or something, to copy single entries into a new textfile. This could be accomplished without regex as well, say using an array or linked list, but I'm not sure which would be faster. I don't use the md5 hashes myself so you should add any missing special characters inside the braces in the first part.
(/[\w\+/]{21}==/)(?!\1)
it uses the lookahead and a capturing group to make sure that each md5 hash it encounters is the last one: say there were 5 repeats of a hash, this would only match the 5th one.

That program was inaccurate, it showed duplicates but not the kind i was looking for
>>
>>1733455
Or you could just pass a simple one-liner in bash like "sort garbage.txt | uniq -u" which is available on basically every platform, including Windows plus coreutils like uniq. Why complicate things? Not to sound presumptuous or whatever, but I'm not sure why this is such a big deal.
>>
>>1735313
>Why complicate things?
because I don't do this regularly and don't know every program that's available on linux even though I use it; reinventing the wheel because I don't know it already existed.

It looks like that filter only works if "kys" is the first thing in the post. You could change it to

/\b[kĸƘĶǨɮkϏКЌкќӃԞᴷᶄḰḲḴ₭Ⱪ][\s_\W]*[y¥ƳƴŶŸɎʎΎΥΫΨγϒϓϔψЎУӮҰӰӲẎҮỲỴỶỸỾῨῩῪΎ][\s_\W]*[s$ƧSϨϩsշᵴᴤ]\b/i
if you want to match anywhere in the post or

/^>?\b[kĸƘĶǨɮkϏКЌкќӃԞᴷᶄḰḲḴ₭Ⱪ][\s_\W]*[y¥ƳƴŶŸɎʎΎΥΫΨγϒϓϔψЎУӮҰӰӲẎҮỲỴỶỸỾῨῩῪΎ][\s_\W]*[s$ƧSϨϩsշᵴᴤ]\b/im
if you want to match only at the start of a line.

Pretty simple, does exactly what you'd expect, but I think we all know how much of a dead giveaway it is as to the age of a poster when the spell "yeah" like "yea". You'd be surprised how much simple filters like that improve threads.
