This discussion topic is a bit on the short side, so I’m hoping more people will spend a bit of time to answer it. As for me, I would have to say shitty sfx is something that makes the experience worse. I suppose. It's not so much that it's missing, but that it's incomplete and contains trial in the title. To be clear, it's not an included trial of the product itself as a bonus. RJ202083 is a combination of two works and includes a few unique tracks as a bonus, but one of those is a trial version and all of the text files referring to it do so as though it the full thing. Is that clear? I'm having a difficult time wording this, to be honest.

That's a possibility and certainly something I've considered, but I'm not entirely convinced. The bonus tracks are all mutations of one of the main tracks and I don't think the numbering or placement really makes sense in that context. That said, it's still a possibility and the one seemingly missing track is actually a little unique, which could lend some support to that idea. It is, however, still just a variation of an existing track. Basically, the bonus tracks are supposed to be ordered in a listed way to build your own scenario and although the text file lists this track and says to combine it with a few others (it's track 5 and says to combine it with track 3 and 1, to be specific), it's impossible to do because the file in question is a trial version.

The circle is supposedly planning to update the work, too, so it may simply be unfinished and the circle might plan to include the full version later. The stated update plan, however, doesn't mention that and instead seems to be for something else.

The bonus as a whole is referred to as a set benefit (セット品特典), but the one trial track is also referred to as, supposedly, a press benefit (プレス版特典). I don't really know what that means in this context or even at all, really, but there's the possibility that it's intended to be press as in advertisement (like for a new work, as you've mentioned, or an update). The only alternative I can think up is that it's a file only given to the press, but that really doesn't make any sense to me. And like you, I couldn't find mention of anything related anywhere.

This is making me feel pretty retarded. I have downloaded it twice now, but I could download it once more. I originally pirated the work and later bought it because I really liked it. Thanks for looking into it.

Got some ideas and hope you like any of them.

Tags and CV:
- Descriptions (and links for CV, that would need probably need anti-spam measures)
We are having more tags than DLsite now and not all tags are self-explanatory (what is "meta" for and what does "natural sound" specifically mean?)
Also how about precedence rules (i.e. when to tag and when not, could be individually for each tag) Maybe something similar to e-hentai
- Tag grouping: This could make it easier to discover things and edit if you don't know exactly what you are looking for. For example groups by general content, sexual acts, ambient (e.g. sound effects, vicinity like train or school), involved people (e.g. imouto,wife), linguistics (e.g. language, accents, male/female/? voice or no voice)
- Some CV names have their romanization linked in the db, so suggestions appear for both. It should be possible to enter both on proposal.

Works:
- Release dates, for the initial release and any updates. This info can already be scraped from DLsite.
- Images, a function to refresh the pictures maybe. I already stumbled upon two works[1] where illustration on the sale page were updated (Even after years!).
- Store more than 1 Picture. I don't how much space these currently consume on your server. Can you afford it?
- Pools; do you have any concerns if we used these for multi-work series? Maybe a special section for those.
- For the far future: Allow non-DLsite works. There have been releases with CD exclusive recordings. In that case user picture uploads would be needed and more manual access to currently prefilled fields.

HVDB has so much potential to be a proper database of audio works.

[1] RJ117159 and RJ209683. In case of RJ117159 there already is one, should we keep it for archival purposes? With multiple pictures for works it should be quite easy. Provided there is enough space available.

There is Musicbrainz[2] with it's AcoustID[3] project. It's a wonderful tool to identify unknown audio files with (musical-)content. But I'm not sure if "our" audio works could be easily incorporated into the database schema of Musicbrainz. Binary distributed works especially those with multiple routes come to mind.
AcoustID can be self-hosted. Someone bored to do it? Or do you rather think we should somehow get rid of of YouTube uploads with no credits given?

Your suggestions have been heard. I'll see if I have some time to implement them.

I've performed a quick fix to set the circle for RJ211455. I've also gone ahead and removed the user names for external pools.

Separation of romanized CVs will be a little tricky to do given the current database setup I have, but it's probably feasible. Having multiple pictures is definitely possible, but since most works only usually have one image, I don't see too much benefit in implementing it.

Pools can be used however you like and there's no problems with using it for multi-work series.

Allowing non-DLSite works is definitely a feature I plan to add.

Development has been moving slowly since both my fellow developer, ElectricToothbrush, and I have been very busy. We have an eventual plan to rewrite the entire site in a new framework that would incorporate the suggestions people have been raising. Unfortunately, we haven't found the time to work on this rewrite due to a combination of external work and our own laziness. But rest assured, we will produce something eventually.

i tried a lot of that shit, both japanese and english, and it's just basically you simply agreeing to do what you are being told to do or "feel". No magic there, no sense of loss of control or anything at all. Maybe it just doesnt work on me, but i highly doubt it can "work" at all.

i have much better results fucking around with my head not with hypnosis but with simple quality binaural stuff, with own recorded binaural ambient and sfx, instead of stock ones which makes you feel like you are actually "there". Running water is the shit. RJ185155 for example

That's all hypnosis is really, you agreeing to do whatever you are asked... that and being in a meditating state of mind while doing it. It can work to make you feel a sense of loss of control by the way, but it usually takes some practice. A good work that comes to mind in my case would be RJ204049.

However, if you have more success with non-hypnosis work with sound effects, more power to you. Not everything works on everybody.
