America Ferrera is proud to star on a TV show that features such as a diverse cast.

The Superstore star made a striking contribution as she attended Paley Center for Media's Tribute to Hispanic Achievements in Television in New York City on Wednesday.

America, 32, was a bright sight in a deep blue sleeveless dress that featured a black ribbon accent in front to match her pointy black pumps.

She carried a silvery clutch and wore her shining dark hair pulled back with a thick strand allowed to cascade over one shoulder.

America has often commented on the diversity or lack therof in film and television, but was probably pleased to discuss her NBC show Superstore.

And talk about perfect timing, America addressed the hot subject in an article published by Deadline.com on Wednesday.

'When I signed on to play Amy in Justin Spitzer’s Superstore, it was the first part I’d ever been offered that hadn’t been written as Latina,' America wrote.

'I never think of myself as a Latino person; I’m simply a person... when I stepped into the role of Amy, she became Latina because I’m Latina… It just wasn’t her only point of definition.

Others who made a point to attend included Orange Is The New Black star Jackie Cruz, who looked hip and trendy in a black and white ensemble featuring a thigh-baring split in the long skirt and cut-out at the waist.

Cruz's co-star Selenis Leyva simply sizzled in her tight-fitting black embellished gown with plunging neckline and a skin-revealing cut-out in front.

Jimmy Smits was also in attendance and looking sharp in a black suit with blue patterned shirt and ice-blue tie.
