The palatial palaces of footballers, actors and singers, among other celebrities, are lingering on the property market for months at a time, forcing sellers to slash the asking price. For those of us stuck in the mundane world of mortgages and rent, it's hard to feel sorry for them, but spare a thought for celebrities trying - and failing - to sell their homes. Cheryl (top right) has slashed hers by £500,000 and is now asking for £6.99million for her and ex-husband Ashley Cole's Surrey love nest. Meanwhile Ricky Gervais (bottom left) and Tom Conti (bottom right) have dropped their asking prices by £700,000 and £2.5million respectively. But why are these stars struggling to sell?
