It was claimed they had called off their romance after less than a year together.

But actor Henry Cavill and Tara King's romance looked far from being at the finishing line as they took part in a charity run in his hometown on Sunday.

Hours after reports emerged that the Superman hunk had ended their relationship, the 33-year-old was spotted looking lovingly at the 19-year-old student as they prepared to take part in the Durrell Wildlife Challenge.

The event was in the actor's native Jersey and his family came out to support the pair as they tackled the 13km race - and were spotted laughing and joking together at the starting line.

A source at the event tells MailOnline: 'They definitely looked like a couple and seemed very comfortable with each other.

'Her dad was there too and they were chatting very happily with Henry Cavill's family before Henry and Tara and the actor's dog get into the car together and drive off.'

The duo certainly looked the perfect match as they prepared for the run, which raised funds for the conservation trust of which Henry is a patron.

The heartthrob was all smiles as he and Tara chatted with fellow runners, while she kept at his side throughout the race.

The actor showed off his muscular physique in Lycra running gear, while Tara looked super-fit in a curve-hugging pink work-out top.

The cosy Sunday together goes against claims that the pair had called it a day - despite Henry recently heaping praise on the attractive blonde.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'Henry and Tara have split - it is official. Henry said the two of them could remain friends and he even invited her to his recent birthday party, which she went to, but the relationship is over.

'It has been very difficult for Tara, who has been saying he was the love of her life.'

The allegations came as a surprise as less than two months ago, Henry - who met Tara at Mahiki nightclub in London - gushed about how Tara was always there for him when he is having a hard time.

'She's there when I need looking after and the world is a little too heavy.

'Then she will happily take that weight for me and make sure that I am OK.'

Despite his fame, the 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ said he is thankful Tara treats him as a 'normal' human being.

He said: 'Tara allows me to be me and she doesn't have a problem with that. She treats me like a normal human being.'

The couple met last year and went public with their romance last October.

Henry previously dated Gina Carano and was engaged to equestrian Ellen Whitaker.
