Ceaser

You have conquered great frontiers.
Strong and mighty Cesear,
I am still wet behind the ears.
I do not know if I am a qualified advisor,
my resume is short,
and you are more experienced and much wiser.

She Smiled

Little girl,
ten years old,
riding alone,
in her thoughts.
I noticed her beauty,
and she smiled at mine,
and then we continued to our own destinations.

Gecko

Little gecko in my stairwell,
you are such a bright yellow.
I like the way you dance,
then suddenly still,
you mellow.

Mystery Solved

Not what I prayed for,
not what I dreaded,
but as usual,
exactly what I needed.

I Think You’re Cute

I have been on a poetry kick recently. Not that I don’t always write a lot of poetry but this week I have been particularly prolific.

I have a mystery blog commenter. I like him, he is cute. He likes my poetry. I am pretty sure he knows me, by the way he writes and the simple fact that the only people who comment on my blog are my friends and other bloggers. Also, why would he go to the extent of making up an email if he didn’t know me? I don’t mind the mystery. Its nice to have a little excitement in my life. However, if you are in fact Michael Buble, please please please just confess your love for me (if you do not understand this joke, please ask KT to explain). Here’s the thing mystery commenter, hopeless romantic that I am, I am not taking myself off the market for what is currently very close to a figment of my imagination. For better or worse I am a very flirty person and I don’t tend to stay single very long. So, if you do know me, and you do like me, you may want to do something about it.

Other things going on in my life: had a huge meal last Friday. It was very lively and fun. Reconnected with Ulpan and other friends. Went to a large meal on Shabbat day and saw more Ulpan friends (Jason, are those real??? Can I see them again??). Then threw a large le’chaim (engagement party) for my friend Shirah. Lucky for me I made a ton of cup cakes and I have been eating them all week. I think if everyone in the world had one of my cup cakes (thanks to Mrs. Spivack for recipe) a week we would have world peace. I am exhausted from entertaining and decided to visit my lovely lovely Chaim and Leora in Tekoa this weekend to recharge my batteries. (Maybe meet the boy next door they want to set me up with. It is an incredible feeling when people love you so much that they try to make you date their next door neighbor just so they can see you more. Oh, its mutual, “Zookeeper’s Wife” is about them. Can you be in love with a married couple?)

We are also having a very large auction at Heichal Shlomo in Jerusalem on August 8th. I’ll make a FB event. Some stuff is obnoxiously expensive, some is rediculous cheap. This would be a fun free date guys! Check it out.

Otherwise, I have “just” been enjoying my amazing friends. I am happy and blessed.

No Sky High Wall

He was waiting there to catch her,
but she just couldn’t seem to fall.
The problem was there was no jump,
no sky high wall.
The problem was there was no risk,
no dizzying heights.
It was flat all around,
no cliffs to leap from,
nothing unexpected,
no surprises to be found.

When you walk by his side,
and listen to his words,
don’t forget about your feet.
