Don’t Forget…

to upload your page to our blog and flickr group before Midnight Central US time to be added to the draw to win the voucher from www.countrypapercraft.com.au!

Your page can be any take on the “week in the life of” concept – if you played along with Ali E and her fantastic blog prompts, please also share your page with us!

Your creation can be about a day, month, week, minute, hour or year – and it doesn’t have to be about a person, it could be a week in the life of an object or animal or plant!

We are looking forward to seeing how you interpret the category.

(and remember, if you upload your creation to the special Cateogry Stories section in the CPC gallery as well, you’ll be in with a 2nd chance to win another voucher! HURRAH!)

Country Papercraft Team pages

Country Papercraft is our sponsor this month, and included in their May newsletter were some of their design team takes on the category, so I am thrilled to be able to share them with you!

Marg McGellin (CPC’s oh so fabulous owner!) – documenting about part of the addition of “The Barracks” scrapping retreat accommodation to the store (seriously anyone in Australia who wishes to have a totally sensational scrap away holiday in WA needs to contact Marg, The Barracks are all finished now and from what I hear people LOVE the accommodation!!!).

Michelle Frisby, who’s hidden journaling tag reads:  “I never have enough hours in the day. My days are always busy. I always seem to be rushing and on the go.  24/7 my life revolves around the time.  I’m for ever looking at clocks from the time I get out of the bed until my head hits the pillow at night … and yet … I don’t wear a watch … funny that!”

Michelle Mullins, who made a page about a day in the life of her farmer hubby’s work boots!

And Rachael Doney, who recorded a very busy month in her life!

Thanks so much for joining along with our category this month ladies, we love your takes on the category!

DON’T FORGET – everyone you can be in with the chance to win one of two vouchers this month – one for uploading to our flickr gallery/linking back to the blog, and also another for those who join up and share your creation over on the Country Papercraft gallery (click here).

It is my sincere hope my art inspires people to realize that this art form is great for highlighting the cheerful moments in life that make us smile, but that it is equally useful to share the moments that make us cry, cringe, think deeply and grow.

It’s all life, so it’s all worth documenting….if you ask me!

*May Category – A Week in the Life of…*

Hello May! And hello to all our Category Stories followers.

Let’s launch into this Category shall we?

Documenting a week in your life has been all over the scrap world this past month thanks to Ali Edwards, and her wonderful annual series where she encourages people to document a week in their lives via her creative eye-candy blog!

The whole team at Category Stories loves Ali, so felt it fitting to jump into May with a bit of a CS spin on the concept!

This month we want to see you using the prompt of ” A Week in the Life of….” to put together a page (or a mini album, or journal etc) about a week in the life of, well, SOMETHING or ANYTHING or ANYONE. And it doesn’t have to be a week either, it could be a day, or a month, or a year or an hour!

So we can’t wait to see what you make. If you played along with Ali’s version, you are more than welcome to link back to us here to be added to the prize draw. And if also seeing our team’s pages encourage you to think about the concept in a different way, then feel free to create another page and submit that too!

All creations that are linked back here will be added to the monthly prize draw, and you’ll be given two entries in the draw if you also join our flickr group (link in the sidebar) and add your stuff there.

And this month you will definitely want to have your name in the running more than once, given we have a totally FANTASTIC sponsor, Country Papercraft, an online + bricks & mortar store, located in wonderful Bruce Rock, Western Australia.

And what is the great prize? Well it is not ONE but TWO $20AU vouchers to spend in the online store.

The first way to win a voucher is as normal, by linking your creation back here to this post, or uploading to the flickr group.

The second voucher, can be won by joining the Country Papercraft gallery and loading your pages into the section especially for this challenge here: CPC Category Stories Gallery.

For both prize draws, creations need to be uploaded by midnight, central USA time, on Monday 31st May.

Thank you to Marg from Country Papercraft, for being such a generous sponsor this month.

We’ll be doing a feature post of the pages made by the Country Papercraft team in a bit over a weeks time, so be sure to check back for that.

SO, on to our Storytellers fantastic takes on this months category, team you have outdone yourselves!

This month, we also bid a sad farewell to Jessica, who has made a wonderful contribution to the team since she joined earlier this year. Best of luck Jessica, we will really miss you!
