Spotlight: Heidi Myers

I’ve been scrapbooking for about 6 years now but just recently discovered my love for challenges and blogging.  I’m coming up on a year posting on my blog ARTiQL8 – because I’m not busy enuf… My children, fur babies, and hubby are often the subjects of my layouts (documentary creativity) but I’ve been branching out to focusing on me, inanimate subjects, and art for art’s sake (exploratory creativity).  Many of my creations have a warped sense of humor that often only I get but I think they’re still fun to look at.  I’ll try any technique once but my current obsessions are paint, messy machine stitching (because that’s all I can do, lol), and fun fibers.  I am the co-founder of the Sketchy Thursdays challenge blog with the immensely talented sketch artist Diana Fisher.  Recently I’ve started contributing a few sketches of my own!  I’m on the Design Teams of Sketchy Thursdays, The Pink Ninjas, SPCC, The Design Dollies, and Torendi.   Although I feel I am much better at scrapping, one of my cards was just published in the January/February issue of Paper Crafts Magazine (pg. 66)!  I’m addicted to stamps and have recently started selling the {ippity} line by Unity Stamp Co.  And I just cracked open my first art journal which I hope to keep up with.  When I’m not crafting, just look for the girl with her nose in a book.

February 1: If I had a time machine…

Hello everyone! WOW! We had a LOT of traffic on the site last month…so pleased to see so many entries. Happy that you all liked the last category so much!

This month we have a LOT going on. For starters, the new DT members will be announced ASAP. Watch for that! We have a wonderful guest as well…and the Category Stories team will be sponsoring this month (via our very own Bre).

The Category: If I had a time machine…

Our lovely guest:

Heidi Myers

I’ve been scrapbooking for about 6 years now but just recently discovered my love for challenges and blogging.  I’m coming up on a year posting on my blog ARTiQL8 – because I’m not busy enuf… My children and fur babies are often the subjects of my layouts but I’ve been branching out to focusing on me, my husband, and inanimate subjects.  Many of my layouts have a warped sense of humor that often only I get but I think they’re still fun to look at. 66)!  I am currently toying with the idea of starting an art journal and when I’m not crafting, just look for the girl with her nose in a book.  I am so excited to be guesting on Category Stories this month!  Such a fun challenge blog full of amazingly talented designers and players!

Heidi:

Here is what the Story Tellers created:

Bre: “sometimes i just close my eyes and think of you all snuggled in my arms-so small and precious-i want to have one more day of this.”

Danielle: “If I had a time machine, I’d ask these dames how they made these swell cocktails.”

Lee:  “If I had a time machine, I’d use it to travel and visit places all over the globe. It would be so fabulous to go to all the wonderful places I read about in school for history. Plus I could use it to go see my friends who live OS, without needing to fly!!”

Sara: “Photo of my husband and myself a few months after we met…eating ice cream in the dorm cafeteria. He looks so young!”

Shan: “there is never enough time on earth with those we love…”

Steph:

We totally can’t wait to see what you create this month!  Don’t forget to link us back, and if you upload your page into the Flickr gallery, you’ll get entered twice into the draw!

This months fantastic prize is a RAK of super dooper goodies donated by our every lovely storyteller Bre. I am sure I heard a whisper that thickers were involved….!

Bre will be adding a photo of her prize soon, so be sure to check back and see what rad stuff you can win.
