Monthly Archives: July 2009

Back in time.

Ok…let’s go back in time to three days ago when I was supposed to have this up…

Ready for prompt 2 for July everyone?!?!  I am really liking this one as it was one of my favorite decades…the one I was born in, Cabbage Patch dolls, big hair, tight rolled jeans, neon colors, Madonna, Strawberry Shortcake, Transformers, Gummy Bears…do you know which one I am talking about?  Yep…the 80’s!!  We went back in time (more than three days ago) and created some layouts on what we thought when we thought 1980’s.  Now we want to ask you…What do you think of when you think 1980’s?  Get your skinny jeans on, midriff shirts, jelly shoes and get some layouts done!  Be sure to put them in the flickr group to be eligible for our fabulous prize this month.  And remember, complete both prompts and you get two chances to win!!!   xoxo…breann.

Who Would YOU Be?

Alright, it’s midsummer and in Kansas…a heat wave.  One that won’t quit it seems so what better way to spend time than indoors cuddled up with a good book.  Ok, well I haven’t done that because I have a little one running around, but it still sounds nice!  Our first prompt for July is “If I were a fictional character…”  I thought and thought about who I would be and well you can see how far that thinking got me…I am layoutless.  It would be nice to be someone who travels the world.  I would like to do that, but haven’t read a book about that.  My days are filled with Curious George and Pat the Bunny and The Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly, etc, etc.  I really don’t want to be a monkey or a bunny or an old lady who ate creatures so, I am sticking to being layoutless!  But don’t be alarmed…the other storytellers pulled through and have some amazing creations for you…just look—–>  Wait…let’s meet Melissa, our Guest Storyteller for the month…

“My name is Melissa.  I have been crafting for as long as I can remember.  My addiction to paper crafts got a kick when I started my first job at age 14.  I worked for a stamp and sticker store in the mall.  My addiction has now become an obsession.  Since my daughter was born a year ago, I have been keeping busy taking pictures and scrabooking them.  because I have to pay the bills and buy things to add to my stash I teach 3rd grade during the day.  My husband is very understanding and has let me take over the back room for all my stuff.  I am super excited to be a guest designer this month!”

And we are super excited to have her as a guest storyteller this month!  Welcome, Melissa and thank you!!  Now let’s get to the good stuff…the creations…

Melissa-Sweet little Dory…nothing like Little Miss Naughty, Melissa.  There is a story behind you holding that book in the photo, I just know it!

Sara-She says, “If you haven’t read the Thursday Next series…go to your library immediately!”  Don’t be ashamed if you haven’t read these yet, I am on the “haven’t read the Thursday Next series yet” list and I will go with you.

Stephanie-Yes, Stephanie wants to be Thursday Next, too.  Guess her and Sara will have to fight it out!

Danielle-I loved Mary Poppins…how could you not have.  “…a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, medicine go down, medicine go down…”

Amy-I am liking this…travel to far away lands, have your house cleaned in a snap…Ok, I just really like the house cleaning part, but the travel is a bonus!

Stacey-She says, “I am a huge fan of the Twilight series and once told my husband that he is my Edward. It is a cute way to compare my love for him to Bella’s love for Edward. It is a bit of a family joke now. Now, I have put it in writing!”  All together now…Ahhhhh!

Shannon-She says, “Miss Jean Louise Finch, from To Kill a Mockingbird.  Only a couple weeks after we met, my bf started calling me Scout.  That’s before he knew that To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my all-time favorites.  This made him a keeper.”  Again, all together now…Ahhhhhhh!

Lee-She says, “If I could be a fictional character, it would be Sookie Stackhouse from the True Blood tv series, because Bill is HOT and I would get to pash him…!”  Now I really don’t know what “pash” mean, but I can only imagine!!

NOW…it’s your turn.  Who do YOU want to be?  Link up your creations to our flickr group for a chance to win the big prize for the month.

Until next time…xoxo…gossip girl.

Hmmm…maybe secretly I want to be gossip girl…on second thought-nah, I’ll stick to myself, Breann. tata.
