The Syrian Arab Army continued crushing operations against terrorist organizations on Friday, repelling their attacks on military posts and killing increasing numbers of their members.
Army units targeted terrorist organizations’ dens and gatherings, inflicting direct losses upon the terrorists in Mazaraf, Kansafra, Ayn Lazor and Sarja villages in al-Zawia Mountain area.
Army units eliminated a large number of terrorists and destroyed caches containing rockets and mortar shells and vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns in Marj Shili, Ghmam, Kitf al-Rumman, al-Sukariyeh, Rabi’a and Kensabba in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

According to Almasdarnews (Leith Fadel, 30/1/2015), a military source declared that local Syrian tribal fighters, under the command of Brigadier General Issam Zahreddine of the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard (Harss Al-Jamhouri), have captured the strategic northern entrance to the city of Mohassan in the Deir Ezzor Governorate, after fierce clashes with Daesh’s mercenary gangs (ISIS).
The same military source reported that the tribal patriotic fighters carried out this attack in conjunction with the 104th Brigade’s assault on the DAESH mercenaries entrenched in the Jubeileh Quarter of Deir Ezzor. Their attack resulted in the death of 19 terrorists, in majority foreign troglodytes.
In northern Deir Ezzor, the 104th Brigade continued their aggressive offensive at the village of ‘Ayyash, targeting the DAESH jihadist mercenaries who are holed up like sewer rats in the eastern district.

Yousaf al Salafi, believed to be Pakistan’s commander of the Islamic State terrorist group, has confessed during an interrogation that he has been receiving funds through the United States, reports Express Tribune.
“Al Salafi, a Pakistani Syrian who came to the country via Turkey just last year, was arrested along with his two companions. During his interrogation, the local ISIS commander revealed that he received funding channeled through America in order to run the organization in Pakistan and recruit young people to fight in Syria,” a source revealed to Daily Express on the condition of anonymity.
“The US funding is an open secret here,” a security source based in Islamabad told Sputnik.
He went to elaborate that most people in Pakistan know and believe that the US sponsored the Taliban (who later became Al Qaeda) in the past in order to achieve their goals in the region during the Soviet Union occupation of Afghanistan.

The first round of consultative meeting between the delegation of the Syrian government and that of the opposition started in the Russian capital Moscow on Wednesday 28/1/2015.
The Syrian government’s delegation requested observing a moment of silence in honor of the souls of Syria’s martyrs, both military members and civilians.
“Our consultative meeting should be a serious platform to reflect the goal of the meeting, which comes amid a lot of suffering, losses and challenges facing our dear homeland,” said al-Jaafari.

An interview with Jamal Wakim, professor at the Lebanese International University from Beirut, to discuss a retaliatory missile attack by the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah on an Israeli convoy in the northern occupied territories.

Israeli jets struck several targets in Syria in response to Hezbollah rocket fire into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, the IDF said.
The exchange came as Iran warned Tel Aviv of crossing a “red line” with the murder of an Iranian general in Syria.
According to reports, the Israeli warplanes carried out three overnight raids on the Syrian army positions hours after the regime forces fired artillery rounds into the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.

1) – Syrian security sources disclosed that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group is using the state-of-the-art weapons which are only manufactured by the US, adding that the largest such cargo has been dispatched to the terrorists just recently.

Growing numbers of Central Asian citizens, male and female, are travelling to the Middle East to fight or otherwise support the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIL or ISIS, Daesh).
Recruitment to the extremist cause is happening in mosques and namazkhana (prayer rooms) across the region. The internet and social media play a critical but not definitive role. The radicalisation of women is often a response to the lack of social, religious, economic and political opportunities afforded to them in Central Asia. Economic reward is not a motivation for those drawn to IS-controlled territory. For some, it is a personal adventure; for others it is a call to arms. Many find themselves providing support services to more experienced fighters from the Caucasus or Arab states.
Ethnic Uzbeks, including citizens of Uzbekistan, are most numerous among the Central Asians with the Islamic State, but Kyrgyz, Kazakhs, Turkmen and Tajiks are also well represented. Some are recruited at home; others are radicalised abroad, often as migrant workers. The problem is acute in southern Kyrgyzstan, where the risks are amplified by the alienation of the Uzbek community since the violence in Osh in 2010.

The new king of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, the half-brother of King Abdullah, who died in his early 90s from complications from pneumonia, is expected to rule with a more Wahhabist-oriented religious bent and concentrate on limiting cautious political reforms started by Abdullah. Salman is also expected to devote his energies to increasing Saudi national security.
Salman’s devotion to Saudi security is hypocritical at best due to his past support for Al Qaeda, including some of the individuals implicated in the 9/11 attack on the United States.
In 2006, Saudi democratic opposition leaders in Britain fingered Salman, the then-governor of Riyadh province, as providing material assistance to Al Qaeda forces operating in Afghanistan before and after 9/11. The opposition revealed that Al Qaeda members routinely traveled through Riyadh on their way to Pakistan and then to Taliban-ruled regions of Afghanistan. These Saudi insiders also reported that Salman’s governor’s office arranged for cash payments, hotels, and air fares for the Al Qaeda members.

Interfax quoted A V Zakharchenko, the Chairman of the DNR Government, as saying, “Fighting continues; we’re trying to link up with the LNR, to combine our forces”. On Русской весне (Russian Spring), Shurigin offered the following commentary on the military situation opened by the recent fighting in the Donbass, “According to the most comprehensive estimates, the bandits lost at least 350 killed and 900 wounded, and lost 40 tanks, 80 AF/MICVs and 100 guns and mortars. During the ten days of fighting, VSN casualties amounted to 150 killed and 400 wounded, losing 10 tanks and 30 artillery pieces and mortars”.
The junta command had to pull strategic reserves from the Slavyansk, Artyomovsk, and Lisichansk to prevent a breach in their lines and to keep the troops Debaltsevo pocket from being cut off.
On Saturday, 24 January, the VSN (Novorossiya Armed Forces) launched an offensive on all fronts. A V Zakharchenko, Chairman of the DNR Government, said, “Kiev isn’t aware that we can advance on three fronts simultaneously. There won’t be any more ceasefires. We’ll beat the so-called ‘punitive force’ and throw it beyond the borders of the DNR”. It didn’t take long for reality to bear out his words.
On Saturday morning, Vladislav Brig, Deputy of the DNR People’s Soviet and Deputy Chairman of the People’s Soviet Foreign Affairs Committee, confirmed that the VSN offensive went in three different directions, saying, “Today, the junta withdrew its troops from Dzerzhinsk”… … …

Kurdish fighters had pushed DAESH-ISIS terrorist gangs out of Kobane (Ain al-Arab) after 4 months of battle.
In Iraq meanwhile, a senior army officer announced that Iraqi forces had also “liberated” Diyala province DAESH terrorist gangs.
Mustafa Ebdi, a kurdish fighter from Kobane said to local reporters that at the moment there is no more fighting inside the town.
YPG forces were advancing carefully in Maqtala because of the threat of mines and car bombs.
The loss of Kobane (Ain al-Arab) would be a key symbolic blow against DAESH gangs, which has lost more than 1,000 men since it began its advance on the town on September 16/2014.

Secret official documents about the searching of three trucks belonging to Turkey’s national intelligence service (MIT) have been leaked online, once again corroborating suspicions that Ankara has not been playing a clean game in Syria.
According to the authenticated documents, the trucks were found to be transporting missiles, mortars and anti-aircraft ammunition. The Gendarmerie General Command, which authored the reports, alleged, “The trucks were carrying weapons and supplies to the al-Qaeda terror organization.”
But Turkish readers could not see the documents in the news bulletins and newspapers that shared them, because the government immediately obtained a court injunction banning all reporting about the affair.

A barrage of rockets and mortars fired by terrorists which poured down on various residential neighborhoods in the city of Damascus on Sunday has left civilians dead, with the army responding by striking the sources of the attacks.
More than 30 civilians have so far been reported injured, some of them critically, by the attacks, which took place in the areas of al-Shahbandar Square in al-Mazra’a neighborhood, in the surrounding of Arnous Square, Mazzeh, al-Abed Street, al-Midan, al-Fahhameh, al-Rawda, Baghdad Street, al-Abbasiyeen area, Rukn Eddin, opposite the Higher Educaiton Ministry, and near Al-Fayhaa Sports Complex, according to the Police Command.
In response to the attacks, units of the army pounded several of dens for the takfiri terrorist organizations positioned in Eastern Ghouta from which the shells are being fired on the capital, according to a military source.

In the 1950s, Shimon Peres made a secret deal with the French to buy a nuclear reactor like theirs. “Why are the Americans looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? I can tell them where there are weapons of mass destruction… including nuclear weapons. They are in Dimona, in Haifa Bay in the Eilabun mountain… and in the area of Sakneen, Yolfhata. Let them send their inspectors to me… and I will lead them by the hand and show them,” Issam says.

‘Covert team’ caught after shelling kills at least 9 in eastern Ukraine
What local authorities call a “covert group” has been arrested in Donetsk. The group is suspected of the shelling during rush hour on Thursday morning, which took the lives of at least nine people and injured up to twenty.
Residents of Donetsk’s Leninsky district heard shelling at about 08:30 local time, media report. Windows in the buildings near a tram stop were blown out. Locals say they believed their district to be “a quiet place” and were shocked by the “tragedy that happened when people were heading to work.”
A trolleybus was also hit, and eye-witnesses said there were victims inside, as well as bodies lying at the stop, local news outlets said. Conflicting reports, citing medical sources, indicate there may have been up to 13 deaths.
“A covert group has been operating, they have been arrested now. No more comments,” the defense minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Vladimir Kononov told Gazeta.Ru newspaper.

Syrian authorities seized an amount of detonators that are used for making explosive devices hidden inside a vehicle on the international highway near Homs.
Large amount of narcotic drugs were also found in the vehicle: four people who were aboard were arrested.
Units of the Syrian army and the Syrian armed forces continued military operations against the terrorist organizations across the country, targeting their positions and destroying more of their dens.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem stressed that Israel is an essential part of the conspiracy against Syria, noting that the government is commissioned to help make Moscow meeting a success.
Al-Moallem stressed in an interview with the Syrian al-Ikhbariya TV channel, aired Tuesday evening, that Israel seeks, through the US, to prolong the crisis in Syria as much as possible.
He dismissed Israel’s aggression in the southern province of Quneitra, which took place few days ago, as “transgression against the Syrian sovereignty and a brazen act of aggression against the Syrian territory.”
The Israeli aggression, he added, constituted a breach of the UN-monitored Disengagement Accord of 1974, and it is not a matter of wonder that the UN should have admitted observing Israeli drones in the Syrian sky.
“Is Israel stupid to have carried out this act of aggression while it knows that it will pay for it,” wondered al-Moallem, stressing that Israel is a fundamental part of the conspiracy targeting Syria.
The Israeli enemy, he clarified, has been using Jabat al-Nusra terrorist organization and other factions in southern Syria and has directly intervened to protect those from the Syrian Arab Army of the “popular resistance” countering them.

Media reports disclosed that the Saudi spy agency has had vast cooperation with the Mossad in the recent Israeli attack on the Syrian Golan Heights that killed six Hezbollah members and an Iranian General.
On Sunday, an Israeli helicopter struck Quneitra in Syria’s Golan Heights, killing Iranian military advisor Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Allahdadi as well as the son of slain Hezbollah top commander Imad Mughniyeh and 5 other Hezbollah members.
“Large-scale cooperation between Israeli and Saudi intelligence bodies as well as the terrorist groups in Syria has played a crucial role in monitoring Hezbollah’s movements in the Golan Heights,” the Palestinian publication Al-Manar reported.
The Saudi spy agency has cooperated the most with the Israeli spy agency, said the report, and added, “Saudi Arabia has been providing Israel with intelligence about the movements of the Syrian army and Hezbollah.”
It noted that Takfiri terrorist groups, specially the Al-Qaeda wing in Syria, Al-Nusra Front, have also helped Israel with the attack.

Homs, 21/1/2015 ~ A terrorist car bomb attack took place in al-Hadara Street in Ikrima neighborhood in Homs city on Wednesday, claiming the lives of 7 civilians and injuring dozens of others.
Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi told SANA that 5 civilians were killed and 35 others were injured in the attack which took place in a crowded residential area, noting that most of the victims were women and children.
Later, a source at the Homs Health Directorate said that the bodies of 5 victims and 70 injured people, most of them women and children, arrived at hospitals in Homs city, and that 2 of the injured civilians succumbed to his wounds.
