I actually love this app. I hate the lack of documentation. Here is something that should be documented: if you spend HOURS downloading movies to watch over your slow wifi connection (not googles fault) and then decide to download some episodes of your favorite TV shows ALL OF YOUR MOVIES JUST DISAPPEAR!!!!!!! No warning! No option! No documentation!! I'm assuming I need a separate SD card for movies and TV! BECAUSE OF A LACK OF DOCUMENTATION!!! 7/9/17: UPDATE From one errant tap on my tablet SEASON 5 AND 6 ARE GONE!!!!! THIS IS A BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!! GOOGLE SUCKS!!!!!! This saga never ends! 10-6-2017 Eventually the problem was fixed and I could download movies and TV shows! Yay Google! However, today I simply ran my updates and Play Movies was updated. ALL OF MY STUFF IS GONE! THREE SEASONS OF G.O.T. GONE!!!!!!! Besides pissing me off, what a colossal waste of bandwidth! Again, major suckage!

Simple interface and good response when caring to peripherals (even my old, first-gen Chromecast). I'd give it five stars if they wouldn't have had the issue with it freezing at 80% when casting a few weeks ago and I'd also like to be able to cast while using a VPN.

If not for Rememory i wouldn't have known about this app. Needs more range in pricing. Lower it to less than a dollar but cannot be downloaded. Add advertisement within the movie if you may just to lower its price. Make it similar to regular tv where there's a couple of advertisement just to make the movie free. This give the app a boost. Anybody can tolerate tons of advertisement as long as movie watch is free. Think about it, say a trial for about a month.
I DON'T like the fact that i purchased a season of shadowhunters and the new episodes DON'T come on the day after they air as they're supposed to. My show airs on Monday's, I'm supposed to be able to see it on Tuesday. But today is Wednesday and still no episode....the most I've had to wait was until Thursday...but i did put in a complaint that time. Guess I'll have to call again. Basically once they get their money they don't care if you get what you paid for
Shows 2 gigs but no movies currently downloaded. Must be a previous download that wasn't properly removed. Must be fixed otherwise 1 star . Update 8/22/2016, the comment from Google is the same one they use on the majority of their follow ups. Further, whats makes a developer think that if a user is keen enough to know how much space the app is taking that they haven't already tried clearing the cache (I have)? Remains 1 star.

If that doesn’t help, contact us directly here: https://goo.gl/ujxdn6. I have downloaded films on several occasions and each time I get an error message telling me there is no file. I have tried to update the app, cleared the cache, downloaded over wi-fi and mobile data but to no avail. This used to work perfectly on my old Nexus 5 but my new Nexus 5x is a different story. Please help Google.
I love it! It's nice to have and there are so many movies! I with they had more Disney Classics, but i'm sure it takes time to set up. Though lately it's been taking a long time to load and will sometimes just stop. Perhaps its just my phone?
Better than Netflix but still needs improvement. Your wishlist invariably gets completely ignored when films become available. English subtitles for hearing impaired are not near as common as they should be. Not unusual for films to still be "purchase only" after a year. And where are the TV shows exactly? They used to let you finish watching the film if you crossed the 48 hour rental mark but now they terminate midstream. Not wise policy considering the price and the competition.
It works out to be the most expensive of the services I use and on two occasions I failed to finish a movie because 48 hours to finish when you are busy doesn't work for me. This should also be movable to SD card to save limited space on the phone memory or one should be allowed to delete it to save precious space.
App crashes all the time now. Constantly getting notifications that movies has stopped working. When attempting to watch something the app let's me watch maybe 3 minutes then freezes and crashes. It won't maintain a link to my Google streaming device that connects to the TV. App crashes causing to have reconnect each time. Becomes frustrating when needing t9 change the volume. Please help would like to continue to purchase and enjoy movies on Google Play movies.
Seriously now I can't watch or download any of my purchased movies. I already spoke with Google support 3 times and they were unable to help me with this issue. Your better off using Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon untill Google decides to fix this issue!
Kind of disappointed with the disjointed experience. Tried with tablet, Chromecast2 and app on Samsung mu6300 (2017) 4k TV. TV was the worst experience. Movie stops half way, did not recover. Also unable to lookup actor info with tablet while watching with TV app. Amazon movie experience is much more pleasant.
I rented a film from here. My phone is brand new and the internet is super fast. The app is updated as well. Don't know why I am always rewarded with the message " an error occurred". What would that be? I wrote to Google either for troubleshoot or refund. There is no reply. It's two days now. Furstrated with this.

Happens every movie. Will rerate when fixed. Edit : tried several already posted fixes. It's a common problem it seems.

If i started episode of a show on my phone and want to go to my tablet i have to remember the season/episode/where in show i was it doesnt communite on account like it used to. Im noe ashamed i purchased things and supporting google when they obviosly dont care anymore. I will never buy things here again
Absolute rip off. Very old movies in genearl, and the new movies they offer at a reduced rate they then charge at the end for the full amount. Also any movie that has subtitles is not made clear and funny enough had no preview. You cannot then get a refund nor compensation as no one responds, or you have no way to complain! Awful customer service. Do not use!
Everything works great for me. I'm just disappointed the movies aren't sorted correctly, Only alphabetical and not paying attention to when a title starts with "the"... Other methods like sort by genre would be nice. I know that would take a little time to put in place but the other issue; incorrect alphabetical sorting, how hard is it to make a back list for words like "the" and "a" when sorting, surely an intern could knock that out in a couple hours.
Update: this app now regularly fails to cast. Tested it on 3 networks, 4 devices and 6 Chromecasts. Google, your standards are plummeting. Performance is temperamental at best. Regularly fails to cast content and has a slight interface. Poorly made and completely inexcusable for a company like Google when I'm trying to watch content I've paid for.
My screen goes black when playing a movie and then also the sound stops. After that, a reboot is going to take place and I cannot stop it from doing this... casting to chrome cast works like a charm. Please fix the problem. Then 5 stars.
Keeps installing itself Don't want it, don't care for it, can't use it on an older phone with a small screen, where I'm not going to watch any movies. But it keeps coming back, installing itself after I disable it. I REALLY wish it would go away. Thanks, Google.
I would really like to watch the movies I paid money for in vr. And I don't want to be forced into buying a whole new phone just for that (day dream). The YouTube vr app works great. Just copy that to Google play movies. Other than that I like the app

Just annoying to keep leaving the store. So many wasted clicks

Still won't work, even after troubleshooting. It has now spread to YouTube. I can't even watch my purchased movies on YouTube without using a different device

Worked great for a while, I want the app for watching movies offline. But one day all my downloaded movies disappeared and now anytime I try to download anything I get this message "couldn't fetch license (error-1)". Personally if I can't watch offline I have no use for this app

We can also help you directly https://goo.gl/ujxdn6. Thanks! Its a great app and love the fact that I can cast any film via Chromecast to my tv. The disappointment is the pricing of the movies - for a digital rendition of any movie, in theory, it should cost a lot less than its average dvd/blu-ray as these dont come with extras and there is never a lifetime gaurantee, unlike its predecessors. I collect alot of comedy tv programmes and it would be great if Google introduced a playlist, so I can add my favourite episodes as well as other tv episodes, instead of writing them down and searching for them. Google Film & TV has so much potential to be more, but again, I would expect alot of bang for my buck and they are just not delivering that.
Overpriced and weak selection. Plus, on nearly every reply on a complaint their canned response is "try clearing your apps cache". Wow thanks Google, that's what every half wit programmer recommends. People are smarter than you think. Please polish sloppy app designs.
While I like that I can buy and rent movies I like as well as buy and rent newer movies without having to go to the store locally, some of the prices are obnoxiously steep. Especially for some movies that have been out for years. A good example being certain Disney movies like the original "Beauty and the Beast". The longer a movie is out, the less expensive it should be to buy or rent. At least to a certain extent. I can understand why a new movie would be a bit more expensive, but making older movies expensive is ridiculous.
You're prices are too high for an online service. Period. You won't catch me buying or renting anything unless you seriously rethink your price structure. Forget about 'buying' anything, that's not happening. Here's an idea, when i have a Google play music subscription (which i do), i think you should have a selection of things to watch (a changing selection every week or month etc) without me paying anything. Might make me more inclined to rent something maybe. Also, where's the tv shows in this movies and tv app?
Rented The Circle and the movie played on my Samsung Tab A tablet but it always got stuck at 80% when I tried to cast it to my Chromecast. I followed all of the trouble shooting options, rebooted Chromecast, rebooted my tablet, cleared cache, deleted and reinstalled the app and nothing worked. Wasted a couple of hours trying. Very poor user experience. Sorry but we should expect a much smoother and easier experience.
Colors are all washed out on movies on both my, and my wife's tablet. Nothing seems to fix the problem. Update, apparently an incompatibility with the screen rotation function was causing the color issue. Now however, after the latest update, no movies will play on my device after download. I keep getting a "can't retrieve license" error. So far, Google has been unable or unwilling to address this problem.
The parental controls don't work for TV Movies. I want my daughter to be able to watch a Disney tv movie rated TV-G, but since it's on the movies section it doesn't work unless it's rated "G". Which means I have to enable all content for her to watch it.
I do really like this app and use it frequently for casting and viewing on the go using the download function. My only gripe is when buying a film from Google Play often there is no age rating. Please fix this
Won't connect to new networks. Very irritating!!! I used to love this app. I hate to give only 3 stars but it has had way too many problems lately that won't fix.
