Worry about accuracy. Translated one word (sorry) into Vietnamese. 1 hour later did the same word and got a totally different result! Am I insulting people with the wrong words? Now in Thailand and this app is petty much useless with thai language. Will translate written from English to Thai, but won't speak it or give any clue of how to say anything.

I have this constant baattle with google tra slate. I want it displayed side by side and not underneaths. It works for a while and then it is back to underneaths.. I clicked google update and now it is worth than ever. It asks again which language ! The 100th time. It does not always show automatic corrections. It types the wrong words. It says voice in put is. Not Supported. If you click erase button it erases everything's etc

Overall a Helpful, Cool App...but hopefully camera usage for translation can become more fluid. It's a bit "choppy" for words or phrases on the smaller side & if your taking a photo to translate, be prepared cause it's gonna take forever in a day to capture a clear enough image so that the app can read/translate it!! Which can be a bit frustrating! *maybe if you had something like a tripod to steady your mobile camera it might help immensely* But other than that all other features gave me no hassles...the writing, texting, and bilingual features of the app. Like I said it was very helpful and useful!! It's well worth the installation.

I don't understand why Google doesn't use international phonetic alphabetics to note the pronunciations, as dictionaries do - I can't fully figure out how the current phonetic system works. Also, it would be great if Translation Community is enabled in the app - we can use the fragment time to vote for translation, etc.

Used to use it more while trying to learn a new language, but the Wear functionality has become null and I have to whip out my phone every time I need to make any translation. Would be 5 stars if I could actually get it working on Android Wear.

This apps verbal translated is the worst!! Had someone speak into it several time clearly and it would only pick up 2 words of that. The verbal was the main reason I downloaded this app. Normally I Love Google apps but this one is horrible for the verbal translator.

I Installed it in my new phone, but even after downloading Japanese, korean and french language packs offline doesn't work. Please help this was my most reliable app for language studies and now it's not working properly. I have a test coming up too and non-offline issue is not helping. Edit : Now the image translation feature is not working properly.

Stopped working for some reason. It's like it cant connect to the server or something. After I enter a word it's just stuck showing liading animation and nothing happens regardless of how long I wait. Although it's still able to download language packs and translate offline. Please fix.

This app used to be great, however, it no longer works offline. I have talked to several people and they confirm the same thing. It will not install offline translation packs. This makes it completely useless to me. Google please fix this app.

I love it! I can troll my friend that I know this language and that language, and I see them so confused to what I'm saying. That's not what I use it for only I use it for other languages to see what other people say on the language. Instead of a 5/5 I give you a 10/10 :)

This app caused an argument that almost broke me and my boyfriend up! It doesn't translate correctly, puts negative words in on it's own (instead of I love you it says I do not love you) randomly... My guy will type a whole paragraph and it translates into 5 words. It changes my words on it's own which completely changed what I wanted to say. I hate this app!

I think it should be improvised by adding some new features. Instant English to Hindi translation is working bad . It doesn't translate sentence correctly. It's translating the words instead of sentences. Even it is not able to translate the words correctly. So this is the lacking of this app.it should be improvised. Second thing is that here is also a feature of good working instant Hindi to English camera translation. And it speaks in female voice , so you should also provide male voice in this app.

I guess this app is best for translation but give us "speak now" option for all languages. Just for more knowledge. And I have one complaint that in many language the translation is wrong like word by word. So please fix it. Thank you!

Loved the app on my old phone, for some reason the offline package is garbage now that I habe a new phone. Tried to translate "to die" and it spat out "pour Die." Any ideas why offline is working so poorly?

Helped identify a typo that would have been offensive! Something the websites couldn't do. Used it to sell a car where I had a lot of Spanish speakers interested. Translated DM and speech in person. Worked great! Now to look for one that does ASL!

I rely on Google Translate on my laptop when looking up words. Only thing is, it has a hard time recognizing Swahili. For example whenever I watch the show "Lion Guard", it keeps on saying that "Fuli" means "Full"! I even made sure that the language it was being translated to, was English!

Great app, still a while to go before it's 100% reliable but getting better and better. Be careful with the auto translate using the camera. It must use quite a bit of processing power since my phone got pretty hot. Don't use it for extended periods of time in one go.

It was very helpful while I was in Africa working with the Germans the Italians the English and the French. The only problem is it needs an in-app translator so that you can highlight text and translate them on the fly

It is very good all around. Useful for getting quick translations and the "conversation" feature is nifty. BUT BUT BUT... I wish it wouldn't translate in the formal. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add translations in the INFORMAL, as they is how most conversations happen. Then it would get 5*****

After downloading spanish offline pack most of the times app said translation failed while using offline. And now after deleting the offline pack. I'm unable to download it again it just shows starting download and doesn't gets downloaded even while my wifi's speed is 50mbps

The translation from English to Vietnamese often not good and vice versa.Very often the translation is misunderstood and wrong wording is used . Please try and improve .Thank you...Ps :translation from Vietnamese to English still not very good and often google is not using the correct wording .Can you improve on this ? 15/8/17. The app works well but it needs improvement in english to hindi translation and vice versa. Offline translation is good for translating one word from english to hindi and vice versa but offline, it is not able to translate the whole sentence properly (the grammar is very poor in offline translation). Please add a grammar checker too (for both hindi and english). Instead of उसे it always uses वह.

Add a way to get search results for both words. Even though I copy a number tap to translate pops out. And add a way to close tap to translate quickly when we doesnt need that.

It's OK, but trying to translate a normal French newspaper story, it makes some daft translations. It is a good pointer as to what it means, but I would not want to have to rely on it being accurate. Compared to Microsoft app, this is an embarrassment.

I use it when I don't know how to say the word in their language it's a lot easier to deal with and it comes very helpful when you are dealing with a lot of different cultures so if you like what I said get the app

It works but only slightly! Mainly downloaded it so can understand the text in Monster Hunter XX demo on the switch! There needs to be a desktop app though with a function that can translate what ever language there is on screen kinds like an overlay and can work in the background

Even though I downloaded the offline packages it doesn't work without a connection and sometimes it's just stuck and doesn't translate the word no matter how long I wait even when I have a good connection. Can anybody help me with that, please?

It does not have kashmiri. I went to kashmir and i had a lot of problem. Please add some new languages such as kashmiri,Mongolian etc. Rest is very good

It doesn't translate lesser known languages so well. Such as Lithuanian. It doesn't translate it well. Common words like "hi, bye, yes no" but anything harder it doesn't work

It fails to translate offline even after downloading & confirming the prerequisit languages (stating bizarrely it cannot because it is offline!), and online it is ridiculously slow considering it is simply transmitting a few bytes of information.
