Google is my old friend from way back when I first bought my very first Droid. Meaning the FIRST ever Old school smartphones. You've great products, service and everything! I hope to continue using your services (the services I want to use, not all) Keeps me in the Know of what's going on in the world and my immediate city along with other areas. Quick loading on anything (most generally it does, there are times when it won't load) I want to know. What amazed me the other day was just for Giggles I said into the microphone in the Google app, a simple "Thank you"~ Immediately Google responded back with a, "Your Welcome!" Shocked me. They're listening, that's for sure!

Guys after this update I am having a problem. Pls fix this bug. When ever Iam trying to tap the mic and search something for first time it doesn't open at all instead if I do it for next time. It works. Iam using oppo f3. Marshmallow 6.0.if it gets into RAM it's working properly. Please do something guys.

It's pretty bad that you have gone backwards with your Google Assistant. With the new update I asked my phone for directions to a place through my Bluetooth and it tells me I'm sorry I don't know how to do that yet. I have asked a number of different ways but it never works. So I had to uninstall updates. With my Bluetooth in my ear I ask Google to call Shane or whoever and it says calling Shane on speakerphone. Why would I want to use speaker phone when I have the Bluetooth in my ear?

I disabled trending stories but they won't go away and they are clogging up my Google now screen. Also the pertinent info like weather and travel is now on another tab. Why would you do that? Also can't swipe away cards. If I say I'm not interested in something it still comes back. This is HORRIBLE!

It's ok. Does what it says Edit.....why can't I swipe away stories? It's annoying having to go to the menu then press done with this story. Why did you do away with this feature? Surely we should have a choice if we want to do it or not. You can see from recent reviews that people like this feature so can you please reconsider your actions and put it back in the app or at least give us the opportunity to have it or not.

Although it can't do simple math. Every time I ask it what 18.42 - 2.40 is the answer it gives is 20.8. I've asked it like 5 times now and it keeps giving the wrong answer every time. It's incredibly stupid. I've been trying for the last 10 minutes to use it to add event to my calendar and it literally cannot do it. You would figure that would be a basic function. But nope

Not a big fan of how biased Google became, news feed is awful. I wrongly assumed Google had an algorithm to bring content to me based on things I search for. Now I know it brings me content based on how they want me to think. Still would rather not have an iPhone though.

Why can't the assistant turn off/on my flashlight when I'm offline. Do you guys seriously think that everybody can be 24x7 online. The app used to do so. But after the update it ruined all. What's so special about America, why isn't that feature available in other countries. Are we using a fake google, hah? Really DISAPPOINTED....Just don't makes updates to drop your ratings....😠😠😠😠

I hate the new version. I loved the Google Now feed before; it was my favorite Android feature, but the new design, with my "upcoming" cards all in a separate area, is annoying. But most importantly, the travel time notifications that I used to depend on for everything, are now completely unreliable. They rarely appear for my upcoming events.

See all other recent reviews. New iteration of app is horrible. Can't dismiss cards. Can't see 'upcoming tasks' without having to touch for separate menu. Google, with all the information gathered on the millions of users, what far out lying point of data said, "users who've rated the app 5 starts, don't like swiping to dismiss and enjoy reading news over agenda items?" -I will continue my ranting by submitting feedback till this is fixed.

latest update ruined the Google Now tab, why is the default view set to weather and news? why must we click a button to see the "Upcoming" cards? this is backwards, unfortunately; there is no setting to swap this behavior... this makes the left screen on the Google launcher utterly useless.

Dislike new design, need to look for stocks putted so far, swipe click, unfold from group of stocks with down arrow...wish was quick as it was instead of stories... maybe Google could make single swipe for your "upcoming" section, double swipe for stories..? Great idea though to start integrate with Google + for following... could integrate more by showing Google + feed from chosen circles, that would be more interesting than "stories" hope someone from Google will read this and update look

Removing the swipe to dismiss card function was idiotic. Also, trending stories are the absolute worst now. Not only are they things I have zero interest in, but several times I've had to tell the app 3 times to not show me the same story. An example; story featuring two celebrities. First time I said not interested in stories about celebrity A. A few hours later the same exact story showed up but this time the trending keyword was the other celebrity. I said not interested in stories about celebrity B. Then it showed up a 3rd time without a trending keyword. I had to tell it I wasn't interested in stories from that publication. That is ridiculous. It has happened several times now.

Removing the ability to swipe to dismiss cards was a bad choice. Please enable it again. An added feature to filter out key words/subjects would be great too. For example, if I don't want to see any sport at all, let me filter that. Clicking "I don't want to see this" does nothing currently.

OK GOOGLE used to be great, now when it does the conversion thing from the bottom is is terrible. 1. It does not indicate it is searching 2. It can no longer understand me 3. It is no longer bilingual 4. It has many bad results 5. You cannot click on the links it proposed afterwards. Shame on you

The assistant is straight up useless. It needs to learn to listen not jump to an answer while I'm still talking. This is especially true when making shopping lists and when I'm trying to add several items to the list. The new home page is less useful than before. I care about traffic, packages, etc. way more than I care for news links. Go build a good news app Google, stop forcing website visits down our throats.

News feed is inexplicably loaded with news stories for potholes and other minor incidents in places I have no interest nor any connection. Can't dismiss stories by swiping, and worst of all music identification is broken. The app goes blank after identifying the song.

Can't agree with other comments more. Removing swipe to dismiss is a terrible UI update. It genuinely makes the app worse and has made me stop using it in favour of other news collating apps. The worst part is there seems absolutely no reason for taking this away. How this made it through internal testing for approval is quite beyond me. Anyone that uses this app would notice this is a step backwards immediately. Please fix in an upcoming update otherwise I'm afraid you've lost a user.

Why have you put focus on recent searches rather than the feed. I don't want to see a list of my searches when I open the app..to get to the feed I now have to go to the bottom of the list and click the home icon. It's counterproductive & just plain daft

Since last update clicking on microphone in search bar widget freezes my phone for around 15 seconds. I have to click to the left of microphone in text input area, then when window opens click on microphone. Edit: Just had another update and phone still freezes up when I press microphone in search bar on your widget. Also when I say I DON'T want to turn assistant on please accept I don't want it and keep asking me several times a day. I don't need your unwanted software rammed down my throat daily. I suspect your hoping people will just get tired of the nagging and turn it on.

This app is great, but the new Google assistant is garbage. The whole point is to be able to search without your phone talking to you out loud. There are already tons of apps included on phones that let you use an "assistant". Google started as a search engine. Don't take the search engine away. It's not broke, don't fix it.

Liked this app previously, but the function to swipe away the suggested news disappeared... And there is different "pages" for News and Upcoming - immense stupid and Really annoying!! I thought the point with this app was to have an overview of all upcoming and monitored subjects. Maybe with some additional suggested news... But now it's all news!! If i wanted that i use my news app.

Recent updates have killed the ability for me to swipe away cards. A feature I find necessary for the card component of this app. Previously used it for news, weather, traffic, and important updates. Now I can't be bothered to wade through old news I've already read. Would like the feature back. LgG4

I like the trending stories. The one suggestion I have is that I be able to use the "back" button to leave the story I was reading and go page to the Google now home page. When I press back it leave the story and takes me to the home screen of my phone. Sometimes pressing the "x" will take me back to Google now and sometimes it takes me to my phone's homescreen.

Disappointing: I used to be able to hold Home and manually select text on any page, which would then get passed to search. This was recently replaced with "[What's on my screen?]", which attempts to parse the page automatically. This never guesses what I'm after and most of the time can't find anything at all.

Google seems to have succumbed to hubris and decided that the gimmick of speech recognition is more important than the app's essential function as an information portal. Sorry, but the last time speech recognition was cool was in 1985 with Teddy Ruxpin. I need a tool, not a toy. Google, you got this wrong. I have uninstalled and disabled the app.

Removed the ability to swipe away a card. Takes a one step process and turns it into a three step process. Also prevents new articles from coming in unless current ones are removed. This used to take less than a minute and now would take over 5.

Latest update makes identify music have a blank screen. Please fix as I use this option NEW UPDATE 9/13 this new update which has it been much over a week since the last one didn't do anything to cure this problem about displaying the music identification still nothing but a blank white screen nothing on it when I revert back to the original install update it works till I bring it back up today please fix

Edit 13/09/2017: And just like that it's fixed The loss of swipe to dismiss means that I've disabled the feed rendering the app pretty much useless. I can't imagine who thought it would be a good idea. Disabled until this is fixed but probably won't re-enable because I don't have the time to periodically check if it's fixed

Last update ruined the user interface by removing the swipe to dismiss function. As I cant seem to get used to the lack of this feature I will be forced to look elsewhere for my relevant news articles.

I dont like how I cant swipe away cards on the google main page anymore.. And the info shown is now redundant because of Google assistant but it can't be removed or it breaks assistant. Very irritating

They've really screwed up what used to be a useful feature. Now news is the first thing that shows up instead of the predictive cards that were actually useful to have a swipe away. Not only that but the f***ing news stories can't be swiped away anymore. If I wanted that I'd just open the damned news app instead. GFY and stop making all of your stuff progressively worse. Will this madness never end?

The screenshot capture screen keeps popping up after taking screenshots once I enabled it when prompted to but now that I don't need it there's no way to turn it off. Please help as it's very irrittating! Also give us the ability to bookmark pages right from the google app instead of opening in chrome and then doing it. Please!

Recently you took away the ability to swipe news cards off the list. Now I have to use the menu on the card to "hide the story". Please roll that back. It's annoying to have to do this regularly.
